I am hearing that Jeffries and Schumer are privately telling Biden to step down

I think he will just use this sickness as the right excuse to do that

This was posted by the Trump campaign yesterday, They cannot commit to a VP debate when they dont know who the VP will be

Waiting until the RNC ends before stepping down could turn out to be an advantageous move too.

How will you look forward to the election when your nominee is currently not campaigning and is being asked to step down by senior democrats like Pelosi and Schumer.

Made Biden a one-term President who lost re-election before Election Day.
Harris is next on the menu.

Pelosi has told Biden that he has no pathway to winning so should consider stepping down and I think this is unfair because Biden won the nomination fairly

If they wanted Kamala Newsome Whitmer or anyone they should have run him or her through the primary not trying to blackmail into stepping down. How do we know that the voters who chose Biden at the primary would have voted the party pick

It's like you winning Olympic trials and when it's time for the Olympics they are telling you to step down for someone else

When Democrats rail about democracy being threatened, they have always shown they don't care for it at the DNC, it's the same way they rigged out Sanders in 2016 and gave Hillary debate questions

The RNC elite on the other side half of them didn't like Trump but they respected the process that won him the primaries in 2016

The Debate and the public conversation since have been brutal for Biden.
Yesterday, a poll suggested that nearly 2/3 democrats want Biden to withdraw from the ticket.
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/new-ap-norc-poll-finds-nearly-two-thirds-of-democrats-want-biden-to-withdraw

That is huge.
Dem leaders have seen similar numbers in their internal polling, and that's what's reinvigorating the push to dismiss Biden.
I firmly believe the Dem upper class were sympathetic to Biden and hoped short attention spans will help Biden stay in.
But that turned out to be wishful thinking.

Harris is a shoe-in. If you cast out Biden, you're essentially saying you're in a bad position and want to improve it.
The idea is that even if Harris does not bring it home, she might be able to help the Dems hold a house.
Furthermore, you cannot relegate Harris when one of the most dependable Dem voters are black women.
Dems play emi lokan politics. It's her turn.
Lastly, the likes of Whitmer would not mind Harris running and losing so she does not stake a claim in 2028.

Democracy is a rule for the people by the people and of the people.
JB won nominations, now the elite want to handpick a successor after they force him out. Apologize to his voters first for lying that his mental abilities were intact.
But but but Trump is a threat to "our democracy ' , voter ID is racist .

I saw this in a disqus comment. On Friday last week , some group shorted Trump Media Group shares.

Calling out ibime the expert from retirement and summer holidays. How does shorting work. If Trump assassination was successful, Trump Truth Media Group shares would have been worthless. What would have been the payoff?
Why would they short 12 million shares then refile on Monday saying twas an error.

P.S. Do you notice Republicans seem to be agitated about Biden dropping out of the race and are coming out with some funny talking points

Guess they can see a Biden out of the race is a total and complete beating for them

Please where were they when he dropped out and stepped down in 2016? We didn't see them getting worked up like this

At least we have people in his party that can talk to him unlike their own party that belongs to Trump 100percent

Yeah, they think that Biden gives them the best chance of winning. Though I don't think they'd even win with him on the ballot. Trump has a hard ceiling. Everyone knows who he is. And that's not changing.
Yeah. Dems do what Dems do though.. wet the bed. Trump could eat a crying baby on live TV and Republicans would still support him.

But, either way, it's ok.
I think Biden would have still been an effective President. If you listen to this speeches and interviews, taking out the gaffes, it's clear he still has a profound understanding of policy. Something that Trump doesn't come close to. In terms of accomplishments that would move the US forward, he's probably been one of the better Presidents. Maybe even better than Obama.
But I don't think he should have run. He'll be 81 and Father time is undefeated.
We are in a inflection point in the US. We need a President who can strongly vocalize what the US needs and push back against the BS that the GOP is pushing. I think that was one of his biggest failures in the debate. He knew his policy, but he didn't trash Trump and the BS that came out of his mouth.
The new President is going to have to deal with the Supreme Court, may have to end the filibuster to pass abortion rights, will have to do something about the Media Landscape (too much purposeful mis/disinformation) and will have to deal with the Middle East. Need someone both with new ideas(though was pleased with his proposal on the Supreme Court) and the ability to use the Presidential bully pulpit.

When I was younger, I read about Lucius Cincinnatus. I felt he represented what it meant to serve. He left his farm to lead during an emergency. After the emergency he went back to his farm. There are other people who can lead. Biden has done his work, has led us through the emergency and did it well. I think it's ok that he goes back to his farm and enjoys his family who Republicans have mercilessly attacked.

But either way, I think it's ok.
Democrats will always be the grown ups. Fortunately and unfortunately.
