Is this Ethernet or Wi-Fi? My IDM won’t go past 3mb/s no matter the network speed
PotatoSalad:

It gets even better.
350Mbps+ in the afternoon.
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by sonickay(m): 9:07pm On Jul 20
Nice speeds.

I don’t know whether it’s congestion, barely getting 150 to 200mbs recently
PotatoSalad:

AX73 speed test tonight.

Yes, ShipToNaija.
Cost is different, I ship with other items.

The AX21 stabilised things especially downloads, I guess the 73 will be same but with VPN client which I require.

Got it for $108 (prime membership), but the price is $119.99
VP client, server, and USB on the AX73.
But no dedicated IOT network, so limited to 4 SSIDs (2 main, 2 guest) unlike 6 on the AX23.
Probably going to come via a firmware update.

If you're in lagos, then maybe.
If you're not, you can try these settings.
1. 2.4ghz
2. 5ghz
Also use WifiAnalyzer to check the 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels in your location. Then you can change to ones that don't overlap.
For me, 11 and 161 were the sweet spot.

Are you bypassed?
No, I am not. Though I connected to a Nokia Beacon 2 router via Lan adapter.

Won't that cause double NAT? 🤔

Check your idm download speed limit. Set it to infinite.

I am not sure though. But have you tried this method and noticed any difference in performance compared to bypass method?

Nope. I bypassed straight. Never bothered to test. I believe you did that to keep your starlink router AP.
Just bypass the damn thing.
What's the Max number of devices on your network and what's the device limit on your nokia beacon?
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by sonickay(m): 9:38pm On Jul 20
Speed Limiter is off, I use IDM version 6.3 though

Try downloading an app on FILECR with idm.
See if you'll get a higher speed?
If it's still the same speed, uninstall that idm and download one on filecr

AX73 speed test tonight.
Where did you get yours?
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by georgee(m): 9:50pm On Jul 20
PotatoSalad:

Go to your tp link dashboard via browser, not the tether app.
Go to settings, advanced, wireless. Untick smart connect to split the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands.
There's no such function as 'smart connect'

I think its limit is 30 devices. However, only 3 devices are connected.

After transmit power.
First of all disable smart connect.
"Settings, advanced, wireless settings."
Change width to 20Mhz or 20/40Mhz (i use 20mhz cos of my IOT devices)
and then change channel 1-11 (US version) or 1-13 (EU version)

Good. now that your 5ghz is split, you can change the channel too. 149 to 165. Use WifiAnalyzer too.
161 works on all my devices.
If you have only channels 36 to 48, then your router is EU version. There's nothing much you can do here.
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by sonickay(m): 10:19pm On Jul 20
It appears my Router is US version then. I have 11 channels.

Wifi Analyser keeps saying best AP channel is 3, 5 or 7. I am testing each then to see which will work best

Is the WifiAnalyzer a feature on TP-link routers?

Cool don't forget to do same for your 5Ghz.
Once you set it well, come back with testimony . Make sure to connect your wifi to 5ghz too

Interesting, the AX73 was mistakenly cancelled and now it goes for $150+

Might just get the AX55, didn’t see 23 on Amazon
