■ Have respect for numbers please. First of 650,000 barrels is about 103 million litres of crude, when operating at full capacity. Nigeria's petroleum needs is about 66 million litres per day, so where's the lie here?
■ Secondly, NUPRC gives license for refineries or tank farms to operate in Nigeria, no such platform operates without licenses from this government agency and by the way the requirements are very stringent. How can you say Dangote operates without a license, that's preposterous.
You don't seem to understand why Nigeria is where it is, to give you a perspective, why has all the four government refineries not been working after being built to running capacity? Why was the pipelines to warri refinery blown by hoodlums after completing when buhari borrowed money to fix a portion of the refinery for refining? Why was Ajaokuta steel plant not completed after reaching 98% completion? Why do we keep importing crude? Who benefits from making the country fail deliberately and why do they keep at it?
Storyland! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

2. Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) is the agency that announced that Dangote is not license to operate.
NMDPRA stands for Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority. It is a government organization in Nigeria that regulates and monitors the technical and commercial aspects of the petroleum industry's midstream and downstream operations. The NMDPRA's goals include:
Setting standards and regulations - The NMDPRA establishes and enforces standards for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of plants, installations, and facilities used in petroleum operations.
● Ensuring supply security- The NMDPRA works to ensure a secure supply of petroleum products and natural gas.
Promoting competition -The NMDPRA encourages competition and private sector participation in the petroleum industry.
Protecting customers - The NMDPRA establishes customer protection measures.
Regulating health and environment- The NMDPRA regulates and monitors health and environmental measures, establishes environmental standards, and outlines the duties of licensees. The NMDPRA also imposes sanctions and penalties for noncompliance

3. Dangote Refinery is not Nigeria, but just a company in Nigeria that is subject to Nigerian laws and regulations. undecided

■ Governemnt should do the needful. You spoke that the same government supported Dangote and now the change in Government are seeing alot of scam. The Government should have revamped our existing refineries. I'd rather place more blames on the government and little on Dangote. If Government have left us with only Dangote refinery to deal with, then let it be so. when dangote diesel got to the market, the prices of diesel reduced. Counting the positives.
Your government invested $13 billion in Dangote Refinery, money that has yet to be traced to date. Earlier this year, your same government claimed it had to shore up the naira to provide an advantage for the same refinery. Pretending it is not one of the refineries your same government invested heavily in is simply drowning oneself in more delusion possibly with future hope of delirium. undecided

Stop mixing things up, NUPRC gives license to operate NMDPRA regulates operational industries.

How can someone from NMDPRA say that? That's not even under their purview. And you ran with that kind of information?

A company of that magnitude that the country has a stake in should be moribund like others? People should respect sacrifice and great investment.

Dangote is no saint, but in matters of strategic investment that guy has always benchmark Nigerian government.

1. See this one! 🤣🤣🤣 Dangote Refinery's team has yet to deny the claim made by Farouk so I am not certain what it is you are going on about. What they did attempt to deny was the claim that the quality of their product is subpar, this without providing any evidence by the way. undecided

2. Magnitude? Moribund? Magnitude isn't what makes a company worth considering. It is the quality of the product and veracity of claims made. undecided

3. Nonsense!

I dont know what you are getting at but obviously you are derailing from the original points of this discussion. Something is definitely wrong with Government accountability in Dangote refinery and Government should handle herself. If there are shady deals there, the relevant authorities should investigate and do the needful. But a government regulatory body coming out to say Dangote products are sub standard at a time when the Nation needs this products is suspicious. I like the way the man has told The house to commence an investigation so we can know who is lying. Dangote products are better than the ones imported and thats a fact. Tell your government not to shy from the investigations and testing of Dangote's, and the imported products, lets see who will come on top. The NMDPRA boss should hang his head in shame.

A Government agency has to do its job regardless of the people's perceptions of the times. I see nothing wrong in what the NMDPRA boss did at all. If what he said is correct then there is reason for everyone to be aware of it. These products are being sold to consumers and they have a right to know what it is they are potentially in for. You say he urged a test be done only now, why weren't tests done and made public long before now? Does a drug producer do tests only after questions have been raised about the quality of a product it has in the market or before? undecided

Stop letting yourself be deceived on behalf of these people. in his press conference, Dangote himself admitted that the standard of his product had not been the same from the beginning. undecided

it is very valid for a product coming from a just commissioned factory to continually improve in quality as time goes on. The NMPDRA boss is just mischievous with his statement. Lets wait for the results of the tests. The house and minister are on this matter.

No it is not! Product standards are in place to ensure that products do not come out until after(not before) the standard is met. undecided

the last time I checked u guys said the refinery is still at pre commissioning stage and isn't licenced yet, so I am a certified quality control officer and I have worked in a refinery for 5 solid years and i know that if a refinery is till @ pre commission stage then it means work is still been carried out and one cannot expect the products to be 100% desired standards. But even at this dangote is saying come and check my products they are up to standards. We will see how this pans out. The NMDPRA is colluding with IOCs and corrupt government officials in the NNPCL and other oil and gas MDAs to orchestrate evil against the Nigerian state and people.

1. You are right! If the standard is not at 100%, the product shouldn't even be on the market but it apparently has been out there even with the refinery at 45%, according to NMDPRA. undecided

2. That one na assumption you dey make, which I cannot answer to. undecided

Good evening chief, I hope you are reading the news and have seen the results of the diesel samples taken and analysed, both from Dangote and two others imported. Dangote quality was superior to those imported. The house of representatives have called for the suspension of your Boss while thorough investigations continue. The house says his utterances were reckless. I think we can come to a conclusion on this case now.

I am sorry, what? I listened to what Dangote in his interview who revealed that the products after the test at about 90ppm which does not meet the EU standard of 10ppm or the US standard of 15ppm. By the way, I stopped paying attention to the...what clearly is a... husband(FG/NMDPRA) and wife(Dangote) squabble, and have moved on since last night. So visit my previous comments for anything else you wish to know of my view. undecided

SMH! The summary of the investigation so far shows that Dangote Diesel is of a higher quality by far as against the samples you guys have been importing into Nigeria. The tests and facts are out there. The NMDPRA did not see anything wrong with the rubbish diesel that they have been importing all these while into the country but can see that of Dangote. I dont think need to flog this dead horse discussion anymore. The NMDPRA Boss is up to something and you couldn't agree more. Instead of suspending the guy, they should have just sacked him. He doesnt mean well for Nigerians.
