I need help my people. My situation is kinda different and tough. The school where I completed my o'level said they have never issued transcript because it's a private school. All they did was that they gave me my dossiers which contains my academic record from JSS1-SSS3. I just need a sample of high school transcript so I can type it. Or how do I go about this? Please help me.

Modified:
Another concern is this, I have lost my Jss3(junior waec) statement of result. Will this document be needed during my application as part of the transcript? Will I be required to upload it?

Hey 🤠

1. What your former High School gave you is equivalent to your transcripts , therefore go ahead and use it, and in fact what they gave you is your actual transcripts.

2. You do not need your JSS-3 certificate in your admission application. The dossier aka transcripts you have obtain from your former High School is sufficient.

3. That transcripts is only demanded in order (for the school you are applying to) to know which subjects you were better in during your high school years. The most important credentials the USA school will base your admission decision upon is your SS3 WAEC result.

4. Naturally, you will have to upload everything from your application portal from the website of the USA school but some school might say they want your academic credentials to be email to them officially from your former high sch office.

Best Wishes 🙏

I'm so grateful Oyotunji. You have been helpful and God bless you.

All I need is the standard format. How do I arrange it. I just need a pictorial example. Thank you so much sir.

🤠 Thank You.

1. Naturally, for Bsc Application, the requirements should be ;

** High School Transcripts. WAEC result/Certificate. Academic Reference Letter. Essay . Standardised Tests ( TOEFL/SAT) OR Official English Proficiency Letter (from your Secondary school). Application fee. ** Some of these can be waived.

** Check the USA school website and go to International Student (Undergraduate) admission requirements. You will have to gather those documents and upload it online through the application portal of the school.

Best Wishes 🙏

Vo: what will you be studying under it?
Me: (I was confused so i repeated it) My course is Business Administration and Management
Vo: No Bus admin is the general term so what will you be studying under it. Or you don’t know what you’re going to study?
Me: (I realized she was asking what is my concentration) No I do. It is Management information Systems….(I wanted to talk about it but she cut me off again)
Vo: Apart from the scholarship how would you fund the rest
Me: My aunty is sponsoring me. she’s the CEO of ——— A company that deals in oil and gas
Vo: (Okay and she started typing)
Vo: what will you be doing after graduation?
Me: I will be returning back to Nigeria to take an entry level position at (my aunts company) and then work up my way to my final goal of becoming a financial manager because I want to contribute to Nigeria’s growing economy my directly impacting the financial success of a company in Nigeria.
Vo: (she started typing for a while then gave me the blue paper)

No document was asked

I’m thinking of reapplying but I’m not sure because my start date is getting close

Does this mean you would be spending an average of extra $20000 ($80000 over 4 years an equivalent of N120million today) to come start a job of maybe N10million per annum? Think about it, internalize it, and see if it makes sense.

Please I want to know if it's alright to have your visa interview few weeks before your school resumption date for F-1 visa
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by TEMIT0PE: 7:12am On Jul 26
You can. You can travel within 30 days of your start date. Some people here have interviewed 2 months to their program start date and gotten approved.

Like, the ROI doesn’t make sense at all.

I believe the current administration has made things worse. Back in the days, $30k USD was just about N5million which was very meaningful, affordable to mid to senior working class parents in private organizations, and you could get a reasonable job should you decide to return. With the current exchange rate, it is suffocating to elite parents except your company is paying or the parents are politicians.

Absolutely. Not like it would get better.

Hello gurus in the house,

I recently dropped my passport for Dropbox in Lagos on the 17th of the month but the status only reads ‘application received’ up till the moment. I’m a bit worried since most people get theirs approved about 48 hours. In addition, whenever I click on ‘continue’ on my cgi page, it takes me to August dates but the passport information page still reads that passport is with the consulate. Has anyone experienced similar situation or are there people who have experience with such issue? Thank you

Please guys I have a question, my sister is funding my program, she's a business owner. When asked during my interview "who is funding your program" how do i clearly and concisely answer this question? Do I include how much she makes annually? Is it advisable? I want a simple way to put it without sounding extra. I heard it's always better to answer what's asked only

Hello Guys quick question i wanted to kindly ask your take on my profile. So for first degree GPA was 2.8/4.0. For my masters i had distinction, the UK equivalent of (4.0 GPA) please correct me if i am wrong. But now i intend to apply for PhD. My question is that if doing GRE and having hopefully a high score would that bolster my application to the point of securing scholarship and also what are the odds of applying to tier 1 schools. Thanks

your best bet is to write GRE and aim for nothing less than 310. You’ll also need to invest more time with your SOP and apply to more schools.

It would be very difficult to get into a Tier 1 school, there are a lot of schools in the US where you’ll be fine with a PhD program and surely would be at a good spot for post doc fellowship.

My advice is to focus on Low Tier schools.

Why not share the program you’re interested in so folks can at least point you to some schools

Not everyone gets their approved in 48hrs. It doesn't even happen that fast for most people. It’s a process and your application will be reviewed

VO: Who’s is your sponsor? Who is covering/ paying for the deficit? Who’s is paying for your trip.? The question can come in any of these format.

Answer: My sister will be covering the Deficit. My sister will be paying for my trip. My sister will be sponsoring my Masters program. These answers should suffice.

NB: do not go about rambling about all the company she didn’t own and how much millions she earns monthly. Simply wait for further question.

VO: what does she do? Why is she sponsoring you? Is she married? Does she have kids? These can be possible follow up questions.

Attach is a sample.

Do not message anyone outside of Nairaland.

A simple google search would have given you hundreds of samples

If you have plans to apply for Fall, 2025, this is the best time to start getting your materials ready. Early application is always the best.

Start crafting your SOP and have people review it for you. Google is always a great resource. Don’t go and copy ChatGPT verbatim, you are free to use it as a reference guide but don’t copy cos you’ll be fished out sounding so robotic.

Get your transcript ready, scout of recommenders (their email address, phone number, position and where they work).

Create an excel sheet to document all the schools you intend to apply and check off all requirements when you have them.

Funding are mostly available during Fall semester, so you always want to aim for Fall Semester.

If you are applying for undergraduate program, have it at heart that there are more than 2,000 universities in the US. You have no excuse whatsoever that you are not able to find schools.

There are universities that are cheap and affordable.

Fitchburg State University

East Tennessee State University

Georgia State University

Miami University

Kent University

Ohio University

Austin Peay State University

Wichita State University

Kansas State University

Tennessee Tech University etc.

Remember, Google is your friend. Do your research and apply.

Thanks a lot, you've helpful... What if a follow up questions is how much she makes annually? Do they usually ask this?

Hardly they do, if you know, you might as well answer. If you do not, tell them you do not.

The idea here is to learn to answer question the right way and not go about rambling about what you’re not asked.

Yes you can. The person I responded to has a low undergrad GPA but a high GPA in his masters looking to shoot for PhD programs. He needs to write GRE even if it’s not a requirement to help his case

That's a blatant lie. What he needs is a good publication and industry experience equivalent to work experience and he is good to go. Remove GRE from there get PUBLICATION/s
