Purpose of my visit:

1) to stay with my Mum in the hospital for 2wks for her Leg operation she can't work she have been on wheel chairs for yrs. So she is going for bone operation and she will be on admission In New York hospital so my Elder sis want me to stay with her because of her work then when she is fully ok we can now go back to Nigeria together so that I will assist her with her luggage and wheel chairs. Pls my questions is this_

1.Can I apply using Emergency appointment? I do read here since date of appoint is 2025 and her date for hospital appointment is Oct 2024.

2.What can I bring along when going for interviews and what my sis will send too for me here in Nigeria to go with to Embassy for interview thanks pls I need info. Thanks

I know I can do it myself and have been trying to for days without success. The person is applying for an F1 Visa. We have filled DS-160 and have completed the ustraveldocs (cgi) forms. We have paid the SEVIS fee. But we can't choose a date. Reason? we kept getting blocked by Cloudflare with the "You are being rate limited (1015) message".

I have written to cgi. I have talked to them on phone. I have followed all the advice they gave: wait a few hours; try another browser; try another computer, etc, etc.

Please is there an agent who you know that can help me pass this stage?

3. Nevertheless, If the USA hospital can write an official letter, stating that you are the only one who can stay with your mother after the operation and that you will also be the person to bring her back to Nigeria then the USA embassy might consider approving your emergency request under medical

4. If your emergency request is granted, you should attend your interview with the USA hospital letter, family relationship evidence, evidence of availability of funds for your trip and citizenship and employment evidences of your hosts.

1. Your narration is pitiful but i sensed you are still not doing something right. Have you been denied VISA before ? Or you are a first timer but you mistakenly clicked on previously denied while booking appointment?

2. You could not have tried all those stunts and even called the CGI help-line and not have gotten solution. For clarification, below is CGI website where you will book the appointment...

Hello House, pls has anyone experienced this before?
I applied to renew my B1/B2 visa via the interview Waiver route(dropbox), I submitted my application with my husband. We submitted on the 12th of July, by the 18th of July my husband application was already approved, status changed to issued on the 19th. He picked up his passport today, I tracked mine and its still showing "Application Received". Have never over stayed my visa, I didn't have a baby. I thought the applications are treated as a family. Pls anyone as experienced this, I will appreciate your input.

Hello, How does this INTERVIEW WAIVER thing work? I have also made my payment, uploaded the receipt number online, and submitted it for about 4 days now but at any point I log back in, it shows me the applicant's home page or landing page and sometimes it shows the home page and the option to continue as if the process hasn't been completed. I don't want to engage in double submissions hence my appeal.. Is there anything I need to do further? kindly help guys. thanks

There is no date that’s useless. If you go for the interview and get a 5 year visa, you won’t need to stress over anything for the next 5 years. Because your travel plans for the short term changes doesn’t mean you may not have a need in the mid or long term. In fact you will position yourself above your friend, family, colleagues and enemies if opportunities requiring a US Trip comes up and others don’t have visas and the date situation is still crazy.

FYI also, selling of date (not possible in real life) is not encouraged on this thread.

Alright. First off, thank you so much for always being available to help people here. Well done!

That said, I found myself chuckling reading through your response to my post. I couldn't help find it funny. I don't think you actually understood my problem. My fault for not expressing myself better.

If you "Google" the following terms "ustraveldocs nigeria rate limit cloudflare", you'll understand better the problem I HAD.

What happens (I explain in detail in case this is useful to someone else in future), is that the USTRAVELDOCS (cgi) website uses Cloudflare to protect against bots. So when you visit the site too many times in a single day (in my case it was in search of better dates, so we were changing DHL location), it thinks you're (using) a bot and then blocks you for some time.

Some say it blocks you for a few hours, up to 72. So when I called the cgi helpdesk, they told me to wait four hours. I waited longer, no show, same problem. I sent them an email, they gave the same advice in the response ticket. So I decided to wait 72 hours. Yesterday (Friday 26 July) I got impatient and didn't wait till this morning (which would have been 72 hours), and bam, "You are being rate limited!". Frustrating! So what did I do?

I called cgi helpdesk again (+234-0-2012278955). By the way, I think they deliberately try to discourage you from waiting with all their plenty messages, but I waited. They pick fast enough. The lady began with the same advice. I let her finish and then told her they had been telling me that by email and phone for more than one week. She repeated the same... like she was reading from a script (thought not unkindly). When she was done, I gently and slowly repeated that I had tried all those. It was important to reel out to her everything I tried, because those are the things they advise:

- I used a different browser
- I used a different computer
- I waited 4 hours
- I waited 72 hours (this last one was not quite true because the last time I waited only 48 hours plus).
and oh, I added to her that "I am not using a VPN"... because the site blocks you if you use a VPN.

... then guess what she did? She did something I had been told by a previous agent that they are NOT ABLE to do from their end...

Right there on the phone she helped me complete the booking, so we have a confirmed appointment and date now.

So I'm good now.

So bro, thanks again, and I hope my long epistle helps someone in a similar situation.

I traveled in 2018 with my parents using a b1/b2 visa for vacation, i wasn’t 18 then when i went for the interview, my parents had to follow me in for the interview, when i got back, i applied and appeared personally for an F1 visa in 2019, which was denied…even though i still had the b1/b2visa valid for 6 more months.. which I could have decided to go back to the US after the F1 denial(I was above 18 here already)..but i didn’t till the b1/b2 expired…
In 2022.. I did a Dropbox application for renewal of the b1/b2 visa with my parents…..after sometime, theirs came back approved and mine came with a 221g denial with the option( you do not qualify for interview waiver….i must schedule an interview appointment) ticked…..
My question is that what can be the reason for this and my scheduled interview is coming up in a few months, what can be the likely questions to be expected?

1. B1-B2 VISA requirements is the same worldwide. All you have to do is prove ties to the UK (especially) or your original country of origin and show availability of enough funds for your trip as well as purpose of trip.

2. If you have not lived up to 2 years as a resident in the UK before planning this trip it can be misinterpreted as a ploy to immigrate.

3. Look out for a better reason to visit USA ie on business conference or seminar, short employment /skill training , Xmas holiday, special medical check up , attending a relative graduation etc. required documents depend on purpose of trip.

1. The likely question (s) depends on your DS-160. Why going to the USA ? What do you do for a living ? Who will fund your trip ? Have you been out of Nigeria before? How many siblings do you have in the States? Etc.
