You are a pupet and sell out. You coplianed about SAS drakensberg but begged the french to invade a african country. Nigeria has never stood up to the west.

quote the source weblink to prove clearly that nigeria begged france to invade an african country, post it or you become a public fool if you dont

Trying to find a artical is hard because thr war in malil all ways pops up even though I don't even mention Maili. But needless to say Nigeria along with rest of west africa support and aproved france instaling a pupet in Ivory coast.

Henry120: We all have derailed this thread to much. Perhaps we could talk about other african militaries for a change. Nigeria and south africa are not the only countries on the continent. Besides the thread is about who has the strongest military(s) on the continent.

Or we can still continue/ go ahead with the country bashing.

almost all nairaland guys just wanted to add some variety to the forum topic i guess. lol grin

No it because nigerians are unable to find a way to insult south africa with out going off topic. Even though they can. A bit of a web search and you could find that 12 of SAAFs gripens are in storiage. Of course now I can say it and say so What. We have no air threat and this way they are protected from damge and cheaper to maintain.

"[s]The CFA franc will be devalued on 1 January 2012 according to several reliable sources in West Africa.[/s] This happened before, with disastrous consequences. On January 12 1994, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Comoros, Congo-Brazzaville, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Senegal were informed that their common currency had been devalued by 50%. 50 CFA francs had bought 1 French franc; now it cost 100 CFA francs. There were violent reactions in many of the countries, especially Senegal, at the loss of 50% of their purchasing power. In 2012 it will be even worse as high world prices for food, paid for in US dollars, will place imported food out of the reach of most Africans working in menial jobs, on the farms, as civil servants or unemployed.

The responsibility for this approaching disaster is the failure of the French economy to deal with its long-term structural debt and the use of French reserves to prop up the failing Euro and participate in the several bailouts within the Eurozone. French wars in the Ivory Coast and especially Libya have cut a major hole in the French pocket. Their tame African partners, the presidents of francophone African states, are complicit in this plan for devaluation and continue to follow the lead of their protectors, the French Army, in whatever they suggest. This relationship is long-standing and a paradigm of neo-colonial enterprise."

i can't read your link

(Reuters) - Cameroon's finance minister and Central Africa's top central banker both said on Monday there would be no devaluation of the CFA franc currency used by 14 states in Africa, denying market rumours.

The CFA franc is currently tied to the euro at a fixed exchange rate of one euro to 655.957 CFA francs, with the peg guaranteed by the French treasury. It was last devalued in 1994 -- at that time versus the French franc -- to allow the heavily indebted countries to export more.

"As I am talking to you now, I, as minister of finance, I don't know where this rumour started. I only learnt about it on the Internet," Essimi Menye told reporters in the Cameroonian capital Yaounde.

"How come the CFA franc will be devalued and I, Minister of Finance of Cameroon, am not aware? I can assure you there will be no such thing. Our economies are doing very well. And nobody can impose it (a devaluation)," he said.

The regional Bank of Central African States (BEAC) central bank expects the Central African zone of mainly oil-producing countries to register an average of just under five percent economic growth this year. Ivory Coast, the main member of the West African CFA zone, is bouncing back after this year's post-electoral conflict brought its economy to a halt.

Menye said the overall economic situation of the CFA franc zone countries was different to that in 1994 because then all the countries were poor and heavily indebted, with little or no investment coming in.

tongue
my friend having a low currency doesn't mean that much e.g: China and Japan.
first of voice the first devaluation has been caused by IFM.
2) Cameroon industrial tissue is weak we wouldn't be able to maintain our Own currency because the western will sabotage our efforts and it will create too much inflation (that's business)
3) when Gbagbo tried to reduce french influence by diversifying his partners and creating his own currency France sabotage their efforts with naija help
4) to have your own currency you must create your goods and have people who will buy/use them .Naija with his population is the biggest market in Africa but what do we see ? Naija/Naijans import most of his products from food to cars and even clothes and instead of buying a Car or plane made in Cameroon the average naijan will prefer trade with boeign and airbus.
5) there is no brotherhood in Africa unfortunately the same people who call us puppet today will be the first to back stab us or to stop patronizing our products to have their debts erased.

those that make us a french puppet? i say NO hell NO and BIG NO ..
what's france influence in our GDP? or IDH?

..........Nigerain Army Goes Wild With New Killer Missile And Cannon Type 97 Fighting Vehicle.......

This armoured infantry fighting vehicle carries 3UBK10 ATGM consists of a laser beam riding missile and a container case. The missile is used as a part of the
Bastion missile system (NATO reporting name: AT-10 Stabber). As well as engaging armoured vehicles and fortifications, the missile could also engage low-flying enemy aircraft. The missile has a range of 4,000m. Hit probability is 80% and the armour penetration capability is 600mm. The system carries eight missiles inside the turret.

Weapons include a 100mm cannon, and remote controlled 30mm coaxial automatic cannon, with 500 rounds. The cannon can fire both armour-piercing (AP) and HE-FRAG rounds. Rate of fire is 300 rounds/min and range is 1,500 to 2,000m. It also has a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun located on its side.

This modern year 2006 model IFV is nigerian army's new k.iller of enemy armoured tanks and low flying enemy aircraft.

The 133 units purchased gives nigeria the capacity to fire over 1,000 anti-tank missiles against enemy armoured vehicles or over 1,000 anti-aircraft missiles against enemy aircraft that tries to attack the army from the air. this all terrain vehicle also swims in deep water.

The current free spending jamboree by niegria is bringing large numbers of brand new and latest technology weapons into all our armed forces at a very rapid rate, and it seems to have no end yet, many more heavy weapons are still coming for delivery, already paid for in advance from china, israel, france, holland, sweden and USA.

has anyone realized that ethiopian military is as good as those of nigeria and south africa ? its so hard to get ethiopian military photos, even harder than that of nigeria. ethiopia hardly ever photographs her military, they are in africa's top 3 best army and air force rankings, rivals nigeria and south africa. i am not sure any of these two countriea can beat ethiopia in real war.

You got a strange list

First of is this list in order because if yes it really really mesed up.

Next etyopya has larger and better trained milltary than a few on the list.

And BDF? Yes BDF are well triand but they are a small milltary with only a few. Heavy wepaons and would be unable to stop a Zimbawen invasion with out a SA/SADC intervension. They geard towards slowing any invasion down long enough for help to arrive

Talking about that I would put SADC on that list and ECOMOG

SADC is the most unified of all the african blocks with close to zero chance of each other going to war and other than DRC and ZIM highlly stabel. SADC stand by brigade all ready had a joint exersize in SA and of the coast of nambia. Has a unit force we have no weakness

SADC and Ecomog aren't countries?
Burkina can't stand alone against SA just like Botswana or Tanzania can't fight against Nigeria ..so going by regional block is quite pointless

yes but they cannot finance a war at this time and for the near future. even now in time of peace zimbabwe is already financially broke, poor and hungry, so what will happen in time of war ? a country like nigeria with $50 billion cash reserve can enter a war and buy 20 SU-27 jets from ukraine's storage and pay 20 mercenary pilots to fly them. money is power ! big money, big power !

did you see the Type 97 IFV nigerian army just got newly ? look up this page.

its late night in my part of the world, africa is many hours ahead and almost waking up for new day. i have to go sleep now.
