Okocha was actually underrated in his prime. To say a football maestro and magician like Okocha was overhyped, is dumbness. 1 Like |

Stop talking thrash, Okocha is the greatest footballer ever in Nigeria. He was just unlucky not to have won CAF African footballer of the Year, mediocre footballer like Victor Ikpeba won it |

Okocha is simply a product of wrong decision, chose bolton ahead of other big clubs.moreso, he was never serious with football. He saw it as all fun. 1 Like |

Op is a basketball lover because if you are a true fan of soccer, Okocha wud be among ur favourites. Infact, maybe you shud try and download d best video of him and enjoy watching soccer. Wat wud be my gain if Manu, chelsea, barca or madrid wins trophies or ronaldo, messi or Zidane breaks nd set new records. Just enjoy ur life watching soccer, Okocha is among those footballers that wud make u happy with their profession. Just imagine Okocha, Iniesta, Zidane, Messi against Mikel, pedro, Ramires and Yaya. You go laff tire. |

Jay-Jay wasn't overrated. If you actually watched him play all through the period He was in the national team, and you still think He was over-hyped,then I'm sorry to say you don't know anything. One thing is certain;we can't call him a successful player due to the fact that He was unlucky to not have won any trophy(both at the local and international level) in club football. But everywhere He played,He was the life wire of the team. As good as wilson oruma was,He was shut out from the team cos of jay-jay. Oruma was a good no 10 like Okocha but never made a hit with the super eagles cos of jay-jay. It's also ridiculous to question why He never played for the big clubs, when you do not know if He was offered a contract with them or not;do you have facts to back such claims up? Also know this, football managers play a big role in the success of a lot of players;I feel jay-jay never had the best of managers during his days. That to me sums up why he never got into the big teams. With the amount of skills and talent He had,he would have made it with some of the very big teams, considering the fact that He was as good as some of the playmakers in those teams(if not better than most of them). Jay-jay single handedly lifted a team like bolton wanderers. It's a pity He played in the premier league when He was already getting old(in his 30's). In terms of skills and talents,He's without a doubt, one of the best footballers the world has ever seen. In terms of trophies and football success,I think He's one of the most unlucky players the world would ever know. 5 Likes |

ShakurM: No all I am saying is that Pele is not infallible. You cannot construct a logical argument based on a fallible source. Pele's prediction did not come true and his opinion on messi and neymar was loaded with the sentiment of patriot. Respect to Pele, but rossike cannot build a solid argument based on his opinion. It crumbles once it can be shown that he did not get it right just once as in the case of his prediction concerning an African team winning the world cup by a certain period. 2 Likes |

Guys let me add to this Okocha sees football as business then fun too so he was not bothered about his carer that was why he went to Turkey when players are going to real, barca, manu, munich, arsenal and so on but he went to a free tax country just because of money. 1 Like |

Re: Okocha Annoying Hype by Fellonigerians: 3:02pm On Oct 19, 2014 |
He was not overhyped, but he underachieved... All this might have been due to his African origin, but George Weah was African, even Liberian and still won World Footballer and Ballon d'Or in 1995... |

Obi1kenobi:Mr MAN!! See as u use ur hand dey shoot ur self 4 leg. "Okocha lacks technical ability" but still "Nigeria currently lacks a playmaker who can put his foot on d ball nd control d game" WHAT AN IRONY. Lolz. 4 pele who played football nd his living football 2 name him nd he is also a brazilian dat also lives in brazil nd have over d years played, watched and followed brazilian league , my broda PA Jay is not over rated. Okocha just enjoyed d game as he saw it nd most especially went 4 d money. Datz why he went 2 Turkey nd Quater, where salaries re not taxed. So u can saty in ur kitchen or mansion nd say dat he is not great because he didn't win anytin. Remember Abidi pele of Ghana won african best player 3times, compare him 2 jay jay now. Who is richer? Of all gifts in dis lyf my broda WISDOM is d ultimate. 2 Likes |

toecyne:We have to put things in perspective. if what you mean by Okocha being overated has to do with him not winning personal and team laurels then you're right. But if you're talking of his ability then i say to your Mr, you don't know football. Okocha is one of the greatest footballer to grace the game of football. 4 Likes |
