If we Christians could understand what Jesus did we would jump out into the street and start rejoicing. The first believers sold all their properties after hearing the Gospel. All those atheist are product of the Church because the Church do not understand what Jesus did. I feel pity for atheist and I blame the Church and Christians. This trend is an example of how Christians push people to become atheist. To answer your question I will say you need a deeper revelation of what Jesus did. If you are born again than you have the nature of God in you (2Pet 1:4). Jesus death have made you partaker of God's nature. Despite your experience the trust is that you have the nature of God and therefore you hate sin, as a child of God you cannot sin for this is who you are. I didn't say this is who you will be but this is who you are. You hate sin, you cannot sin for you love righteousness (1John 3:9). This trust is in God eyes you are holy, blameless, faultless, and perfect (Eph 1:4, Col 1:22 & Heb 10:14). God's word is the trust, focus on the trust instead of focusing on sin and hell.

There are two things: Jesus is all about salvation and eternal life. The day to day business on earth is not really his thing. Political, economic, social and other struggles are not so much his business as much as spiritual struggles are. I doubt very much that national boundaries are even recognised in heaven, since they are mere arbitrary constructs used by man to emphaszie that he is not all inclusive, unlike God. The question "how has Jesus' death benefitted Nigeria" is therefore misconceived. Also, this world is merely a percusor to heaven, so by necessity it must be worse than heaven, otherwise heaven would be pointless.the killings and evil you speak of are simply an unavoidable feature of this world, according to oga Yahweh.

Secondly, since the wage of sin is eternity in hell, and Jesus is clearly not spending eternity there, it is alleged that he has not actually, properly, died for our sins. Ordinarily, a person who dies for his own sins spends eternity in hell. How much more one who dies for the sins of the whole world? Three days is certainly not enough, tho we are not saying that a three day (72 hour) roasting is even advisable in the first place. So when you take this point into consideration, it becomes easier to explain why people still die for their sins even after another is said to have died for the same sins.

On a more serious note, heaven is simply a poorly conceived idea. If the world said to have been created by the most powerful and all knowing and infinitely good God could not be perfect from the outset, what magic could possibly happen to make it perfect at some future point? Will God develop another infinite ability that prevents his plans from derailing? Heaven only works when you dont think about it carefully, because if you did you would see that any purported afterlife would simple be another iteration of life as we know it. Same thing, different cycle. Much like the Matrix.
