I don't think it is tribal but I do think it is how women are valued in the home and by the male coubterpart. If the boys are raised that it is okay then that's what happens when they become adults.

There are so many women beaters on this thread. I weep for Nigerian women. Honestly I think it starts when they are young. We need to teach ours sons that it ain't right to hit a woman. Those who remain in abusive marriages and relationships are only teaching sons it's okay to hit women and daughters it's okay to be hit.

Violence is not the Key really. I know some women can be devils but I would rather leave such a person then have a constant battle with her.

1. God never planned it to be that way, he created woman to be a man's helper and lover for the man to love, protect, care and provide for. a man's better half and never to be equal but if any of you have anything opposing to this religiously bring it.
