Remember that Toyin Ibitoye, the team's media officer made it clear that Rohr awaits the final report of Pionetti on Uzoho after this whole special arrangement is over. Rohr will take Pionetti's reports very seriously. I believe Pionetti won't have a problem at all being open with his choice on the Eagles goalie role. We can only hope for the best as Rohr does his best to give us the best.

better my brother....
anyone who sees that Italian will know...that he is a man who is ready to work...unlike the other trainer busy doing nothing....

had it been....all this while he recommended ajiboye also to be tried and given good game time...we would have had between ajiboye and enzenwa to pick from...

he limited our goal keeping options with his cluelesness...

Kelechi Nwakali for Arsenal first team in June claim Nigerian academy

Youngster Kelechi Nwakali will be given a chance to fight for a place in the Arsenal first-team squad in June, according to his Nigerian academy.

The 19-year-old is on six-month loan from ‘The Gunners’ to MVV Maastricht, a second-tier league team in the Netherlands.

The 2015 Nigeria U17 Golden Eaglets FIFA U17 World Cup winning captain had completed a similar short loan at VVV Venlo, a top league side in Holland.
On return to his parent club, Arsenal, Nwakali is expected to be handed a senior Arsenal team role.

The midfielder will be 20 years on June 5, 2018.

“We are waiting for June to come fast,” an official of Nwakali’s football academy who owns his footballing rights, ASJ Academy, told Scorenigeria.com.ng

“Then, in June, Kelechi will return to Arsenal.

“That was reason he signed a short term, six-month loan at Maastricht.

“Then he could play in the senior (Arsenal) team”.

Obi, from Turin to the National team: Nigeria is ready to embrace him again

Sometimes fairy tales have a happy ending. Even if placed in a stormy context, to put it mildly. Joel Obi is living what Torino has been waiting for over two years: a regular season, played regularly, and at the levels that led him to be one of the most interesting youngsters at Inter.

Once upon a time, Nigeria also counted on its performance (13 appearances from 2011 to 2014), but then stopped the customary call due to injuries, which have so far undermined the entire career of the midfielder. Yet, the summer care Mihajlovic, along with that of Dr. Tavana, who unlike his predecessor has found the right keystone, has proved effective: and finally Obi can show off his qualities.

Now, for Torino, the Nigerian has become a staple of the midfield. Almost unavoidable, so much so that recently Mazzarri has preferred to put on the bench the talented (but impalpable) Baselli instead of the former Parma, now in his ninth game as a consecutive holder. And it is for this reason that, now, Nigeria seems ready to embrace her player, who has finally become great: from a young promise, the twenty-five year old Obi seems to have become a certainty, even though he knows very well that he needs many other confirmations. to be able to say that he has thrown away a very difficult period. Even this season, in fact, for a month the midfielder was forced to pit, for yet another muscle problem. Now, things have changed, and in the disaster of Verona has nevertheless proved to be among the most important players of this disrupted Turin. It's the right time, now, to accelerate: for the national team, for the bull and for an environment that is finally able to appreciate it.

Will History Repeat Itself? Argentina To Face Israel In Last Pre-World Cup Friendly

The Argentina Football Association has arranged a friendly with Israel ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, according to reports.
The story from Ole Argentina says Argentina's last friendly before they travel to Russia for the World Cup will be against Israel in Tel Aviv on June 9, 17 days before a potential Group D decider against the Super Eagles.

In their last friendlies before the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, La Albiceleste beat Israel 7-2 and 2-1 respectively and they went on to reach the finals, winning the tournament in Mexico.

Meanwhile, manager Sampaoli is set to leave out Juventus star Paulo Dybala when he announces his roster for the upcoming friendlies against Spain and Italy due to his inactivity for the Serie A side.

A hamstring injury had kept the striker out of the Juventus squad and he only returned to action on February 18 when he played the last 24 minutes against Joel Obi's Torino.

Dybala started Argentina's 4-2 loss to Nigeria in an international friendly last November and was a substitute against Russia.
Nigeria meet Poland on March 23 before heading to the English capital, where they will take on Serbia at the Hive Stadium on March 27.

Presidential Reception For Home Eagles Put Off Again
By Adeboye Amosu

The much awaited presidential reception for members of the home-based Super Eagles earlier scheduled to hold this Wednesday has now been put off until further notice, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Salisu Yusuf’s team came second at the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco earlier in the month after losing 4-0 to hosts Morocco in the final.

It was the Nigeria’s best ever placing in the history of the CHAN, having won bronze at the 2014 edition in South Africa.
The planned reception for the players and their officials has been postponed twice.

“We have been informed that the reception by the President (Muhammadu Buhari) will not hold again tomorrow,” Dayo Ojo a key member of the team informed Completesportsnigeria. com.

“They said the President has a busy schedule at the moment and there is no way the reception can hold now.

“We don’t know the new date yet, as they only told us it has been put off till further notice. We can only hope it will not be too long.”
Also the planned reception by the Lagos State government for the team has also been shelved and will only be staged after the presidential reception.

Yes we have seen all those. Which formed the yardstick of our criticisms of those goalkeepers.

A lot of us only formed our decisions based on Uzoho's 45mins against Argentina. So with these videos we are getting to know more of him.

Oga you all should stop complaining about Uzoho's clip. I believe that you of all people should know that you don't judge a keeper by the goals he conceded only as that doesn't tell true picture.

Do you want me to show clips of goals conceded only of top keepers worldwide?... Starting from Jorge Campos, Oliver Kahn, Dida, Casillas, Great Edwin Van Der Saar, Almighty De gea, Neur, Peter Cech,...? All of them, from their goals conceded only, they look amateurish! Every keeper looks incompetent at any goal he concedes... FACT! angry

To judge a keeper from clips, you have to see he saves and goals conceded.

Coming to Uzoho, this is a keeper with 10 clean sheets out of 15 games. You didn't ask for clips of his saves from the cleansheets matches, rather you asked for the goals he conceded and you are judging him from that.

Newsflash,.. I will take a goal keeper who let's in a goal in 1350 minutes of football /divide by 9 goals conceded, which is an average of 150 minutes to the world cup anyday anytime especially when the keeper is a young lad because he can improve on his mistake.

I am terribly disappointed about you and every other adult casting doubts because of the clips of Uzoho posted here. With all your experience and age in watching football, you don't know a good keeper when you see one.

As good as Peter Cech is, I have seen him concede goals that I wonder WTF

I have seen Courtoise conceded goals severally and I wonder where he went AWOL to.

Give the young man a break.

In the whole top 5 leagues in Europe, they are no African keepers in the top flight. It tells you something is wrong somewhere, but not that Africans are not good in terms of goalkeeping... No!.. Rather it tells you that something else apart from ability is wrong.

Yet here is a small boy trying to break barriers to get to the top and all you do instead of acknowledging his efforts so far is to berate him.

I repeat! Give him a break!

Pls guys let's us watch those saves against Angola and Sudan again cos the issue now is not about foreign based vs home based but the best should be picked.

Tbaba pls give us Ezenwa and Ajiboye saves against Angola and Sudan.

Omaye calm down now. We've been having this discussion now for days with some of us sticking out for Uzoho until we saw those clips. You are free to be disappointed in those doubting Uzoho, just as any person who watched those clips is free to doubt him. Doubting him is the natural response from watching those clips. Nothing strange. Everyone's concern, fear, doubt or hope is legitimate in the circumstances we find our selves as per this goalkeeping issue. Those who believe in Uzoho are strong, those who don't are not weak. It's just a matter of perspective and what we desire in a goalie. Icon4s is a firm believer in experience as a criteria for choosing a goalie. He was ready to bend a little but that clip has made him tighten his grip on his beliefs. His reaction to the clip made me laugh. But look deeper and you'd see that that wasn't mere criticism, it's coming out of deep concern. It's the depth of his concern that made me laugh. Safarigirl on the other hand took everything in her stride. Normal, Bro.

perhaps you should encourage the house by dousing our fears.

it depends..when it comes to discipline and sticking to tactics one usually gets more with players that grew in an academy since they drilled from very early age however when it comes to spontaneity and the likelihood of the unpredictable one usually gets that from players that learn football in the streets.
Yeah Okocha in some interviews, said he learnt a lot by himself in the streets, and Ronaldinho played football with his dog while growing up. The combination of the streets and the Academy could be the difference between an average player and an outstanding one at the end of the day.

i once watched a documentary where former Brazilian greats zico and rivelino were complaining of building up of open spaces in which kids did their kick abouts that existed in their times..they alluded to that the seeming dearth of supremely talented brazillian players was because of this and the springing up of academies everywhere..they believe that academies largely mould good players but not exceptional ones.

Manchester United Midfielder Kehinde: I Want To Play For Nigeria At The World Cup?

Manchester United U23 sensation Tosin Kehinde has 'presumably stated' he is good enough to play for the Super Eagles ahead of the World Cup despite the fact he has yet to make his first team debut for the Old Trafford outfit.

And the midfielder has every reason to be hopeful as Alex Iwobi played two matches for Nigeria's senior team against Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon in 2015 prior to his maiden appearance for Arsenal's main team.

Lagos-born Kehinde is inching closer to a competitive debut for United, having trained with the first-teamers this season.

''Of course I’d be elated to play at the World Cup, Playing at any level for Nigeria would bring me pride'' Kehinde supposedly told Soccer Assembly.

''But I believe in myself enough to know i can bring something great to the Super Eagles first team.''

On the chances of the Nigerian team at the 2018 World Cup, the Manchester United number 82 said : ''The Super Eagles have got a great chance at the World Cup.

''We have the youngest average age at the tournament so if we play with audacity, swag and confidence, anything can happen. I’m expecting great things.''

Tosin Kehinde has made ten starts and two substitute appearances for Manchester United's Reserves in the Premier League 2 this season, scoring one goal against Chelsea.

Rohr Keeps To His Promise : Amkar Perm Defender Brian Idowu Receives Nigeria Call-Up

Amkar Perm star Brian 'Abuja' Idowu is set to add to his solitary international cap for Nigeria's national team, with manager Gernot Rohr inviting him for the upcoming Pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands Idowu is the only Amkar Perm player in contact with the Nigerian Federation, meaning Aaron Samuel and Fegor Ogude are set to be omitted from the list of invitees.

Idowu was part of Nigeria's 23-man squad for the friendly against Argentina on November 14, coming on at half-time as replacement for left-back Ola Aina.

The Saint Petersburg-born defender scored eight minutes into his debut to give Nigeria a crucial 3-2 lead against the two-time world champions.

The 25-year-old has played as a central defender, left back, left midfielder, right midfielder and right back for Amkar Perm in the Russian Premier League.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr earlier stated that Idowu will be part of his World Cup squad and will act as the Super Eagles interpreter as he speaks Russian language.

John Ogu, Chidozie Awaziem, Oghenekaro Etebo and Daniel Akpeyi are confirmed to be named to the roster that will be announced in the coming days.

Exactly my point. Even after the friendlies what we will just settle for indisputably will be our best risk.... it matters not if Uzoho pulls off worldies after worldies against Poland or Erbua or England, the truth is the World cup atmosphere is different and we just have to believe in whosoever Rohr annoints as his no.1 choice.

All the choices available are big risks but Rohr wanna pick the most manageable risk. The one that will do minimal but not so costly damage. Time will tell..... me I Haven't lost my excitement... but I strongly understand Dad Icon4s' concerns... as the arch guardian of the halls of experience, I expect him to be most concerned for our Goalie situation because truly that role is truly about experience in the long run. But we hope for the best.... let Rohr decide. If it is Uzoho's precociousness, so be it... it not but Akpeyi's experience.. so be it... Or if it is Ezenwa's growing experience in the team... fine, so be it. Rohr will decide.

I don't read all the articles posted here but i read comments (spot the difference?)

Are you saying what he knows about Ezenwa and Akpeyi is all that we are to work with while Uzoho gets to enjoy one on one training and drilling? To me, it seems only Uzoho is the target here and the expected report is solely on him and not on other goal-keepers.

Ezenwa got injured and we haven't heard anything concerning his injuries, meaning its his business to get fit and back to shape.

Na so. Reasons giver.... looolll... selective reading is what it is... if you dont read thru news articles how then would you stay informed of certain matters huh? All you will end up doing is asking questions that would have been answered in those articles sometimes... smh...

And if you think the bolded... then why ask the question in the first place? undecided And didn't I take the little time to explain that the Pionetti report was on Uzoho? hian... oga, you are really somehow oooo... why repeating to me what I just told you? Na wa oo

somehow:
I don't read all the articles posted here but i read comments (spot the difference?)

Are you saying what he knows about Ezenwa and Akpeyi is all that we are to work with while Uzoho gets to enjoy one on one training and drilling? To me, it seems only Uzoho is the target here and the expected report is solely on him and not on other goal-keepers.

Ezenwa got injured and we haven't heard anything concerning his injuries, meaning its his business to get fit and back to shape.

Why is Orlando Pirates' Emmanuel Daniel not being considered for the Number 1 position in the Super Eagles please?
