Was I not the same person that said Ighalo is full of skills and tricks and Michael laughed me off ? A lot of people will not understand the quality that guy possess just because he has scored a lot of goals for Eagles

The forwards mentioned in the formation were Simi, Vicmo, mikel and Musa. OmanB said that he would rather have Ighalo on the right than Musa. I now added that plus Ighalo (meaning that Ighalo in addition to the other forwards) any defence will crack. As in Simi as the arrow head, Vicmo on the LWF, Mikel as AM and Ighalo as RWF will surely be hot for any defence to handle.

So where does Iwobi fit into?

Modric, Rakitic, Kovacic, all playmakers for Croatia. When they are on the move bossing possession, they tend to drag the back 4 with them, hence a high line. When either of 3 afore mentioned players tries to pull a through pass to Perisic and the ball gets intercepted there is a huge hole in the midfield coupled with the slow recovery pace of the back 4, a counter attacking side will take them apart. Hope our video analyst is taking note.
Coacheeeee, I hail, I truly hail. But what happens when they boss the midfield and the back four show discipline not to be dragged out? Unrelenting pressure on us abi?

OK. I hear.

Let's see an audition of him and Simy against England.

Do you know that as I wrote that comment my eye was not on Ighalo but the totality of Moses, Simi and Mikel. That's quite a formidable front ain't it?

With the quartet Ighalo, Mikel, Simmy and VicMo we have a forward line that if they gell properly na murder be that....Olorun!

To be sincere....gentlemen and ladies... we lack quality....look at our bench...not strong like first team....the only thing that will take us far in this w/c is TEAM PLAY....at most VicMo will propel us like a Messi or a Roberto Baggio

What if VicMo did not shine, does that mean the Eagles can't fly ?

Hahaha. Good question.

But when teams press forward the Full backs are typically involved. The best they can do is keep the two CBs. Under a 3 forwards against 2 CB condition, you have a good chance bro.

First you need to understand why teams play counter attacking football.

No team or coach is comfortable with that style of play but sometimes due to the strength of your team relative to that of the other team you can chose from planning stage to play counter attacking football or during the course of the game you will just see your team playing counter attacking football, and soaking up pressure upon pressure.

If Nigeria wants to play a team like Benin, Togo or Niger you think we will plan to play counter attacking football? We will go all out, even at 1-0 we will still be pushing for more goals.

Believe it or not Nigeria Vs Croatia we are the under-dogs. Except you want to practice blind patriotism. Man to man we cannot match them.Yes football is a team sport but go look at games where the smaller team beat the bigger team, the small team would always receive more of the pressure. Cameroon Vs Argentina in 1990, Senegal Vs France in 2002 etc.

Nigeria beat Bulgaria in 1994 and 1998 but we were more under heavy attacks in both games. We only scored when ww had the opportunity. Nigeria Vs Argentina 1994 same thing.

Our defense and goalkeepers have always been kept very busy(reason why I fear for our current goalkeepers).

Nobody likes being under pressure. Every team likes being in control of the game but sometimes you cannot help being on the receiving end.

And I say it again looking at the fixture Nigeria Vs Croatia I expect Croatia to be the more attacking side, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Our chance of winning that game lies in our defense being solid and our goalkeeper making life saving saves and then our forwards being able to convert our chances.

your analysis reminds me of Costa Rica truimph in the last world cup.....

What are the chances that we can even draw England with Championship players? eh komekn

Quite a lot of players first had to cut it in the lower league and even lower than the championship before they progressed and got into the 3 Lions.

But back to Nigerian players play abroad.

Ademola and Batshuayi didn't get much opportunity but are now top performing players in the Bundesliga.

The question is how many of our players currently playing in Turkey, Germany, Belguim, Russia, Isreal, Netherlands, etc would be stand out, top performing players in the Championship

Currently the number one top performing young leftback in England plays in the Championship. That is Ryan Ssegnon who just turned 18 has been playing in Fulham since he was 16. Fulham striker on loan from Newcastle Mitrovic is a top target for several EPL teams.

The reality is that it's not about the Championship. But rather the reality is we simply no longer have a huge pool of top quality players to choose from. SADLY

TheGoodJoe:

To start with, when the Pepsi football academy scouts discovered a young Mikel, they contacted Kashimawo Laloko who was a Senior coach in the academy. The message was that this young secondary footballer was the best player in the country.

Years later, that identified special talent still waxes strong.

Kelechi Nwakali was identified years ago when he was about 12 years old, had him training in the U17 camp and about four years later, the young man was crowned the best player in the U17 World cup. Just like the likes of Isco, Neymar, Samir Nasri and a host of other young brilliant special talents were identified, it seems the technical crew is up to something with Kelechi Nwakali.

Coach Yusuf, not Rohr as you wrote in your epistle was part of the growing process of some of our bright young talents. He monitored the progress of the young Nwakali Kelechi and he is well within his rights to make steps to nurture maybe the heir to the Mikel who was spotted at a very young age too.
thegoodjoe to buttress your point Nathanel Challobah is in England camp training with the main team ahead of Nigeria match though not going to WC.

Concur. I also said this earlier

I have said this thing before that Simi is not just up against other forwards.

Rather than for Rohr to drop Simy because of Simon he would drop one fringe midfielder or one defender in his place.

Croatia Scout Impressed With Simeon Nwankwo's Abilities: He Is Fast And Agile
Published: May 31, 2018

Croatia national team scout Ognjen Vukojević monitored the international friendly between Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday and has picked one Super Eagles player that impressed him.
The former Dynamo Kyiv midfielder and teammate of Olarenwaju Kayode at Austria Vienna has praised the qualities of Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo on his debut for the Super Eagles.

''A real African player. Fast, agile, direct, very interesting,'' said Vukojević to
Sportske Novosti.
Croatia's talent spotter is expected to be one of the spectators at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday for the friendly between England and Nigeria.

''I am particularly interested in this game in London, they will be much more clear here, I want to see how Nigeria, who have a lot of players playing in the Premier League, performs against the English team.

''Will they possibly dominate or even the English will be dominant? This game will give a lot more answers than the match with Congo,'' added Vukojević.
Nigeria and Croatia will square off in their World Cup opener at Kaliningrad Stadium, Kaliningrad on June 16.

elder I have asked the question since morning and forgiveness and komekn cannot answer me. At least their silence proves that they have no point in criticizing nwakali's call up for the athletico game or 35 man list.. Wherever they saw such list.

I will still ask for the third time.... Now it is an open question for everyone .... Is there any special talent midfielder currently of Naija decent both home and abroad that deserves it more than nwakali to be called to the national team just to train... Post Russia...... I really want to learn.... I am waiting..

Forgiveness and komekn should hide their face in shame... I cannot wait for dust to settle.

In komekn's voice..... Nwakali plays in Holland division 2...nwakali should not ride on youth past glory.... Nwakali is not a top performer in division 2....nwakali is not special talent but special connections......

Bros I go disgrace you today.... I d'or vex..... Oya name one Naija midfielder na wey be special talent, top performer, not in division 2 of any league and has past glory in youth competition for any country..... That deserves it more than nwakali.... Bros you must answer today o... Or just keep quiet forever on this nwakali issue... Cos I will be on your case.... Thank you
