Rugaria:Where and when is the wrath of God coming on these soulless Nigerian politicians? Whose account is this purchase charged to? Who is responsible for appropriating funds in this state? Is this budgeted for? What happened to the ones these legislooters got in Abuja? 774,000 are scrambling for 20k job and these deranged looters are gifting each other like they are sharing candy! I said it before Democracy is not for Nigeria, this is one of the many demonstrations of craze by these hijackers of our commonwealth. When will this madness end. I can never forget what Wike did,Nigerian politicians are deranged. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0HM_AKt9lo 1 Like 1 Share |

Not only did Governor Marwa switch from a 504 to an armoured Land Cruiser after that bomb attack, he also moved his residence from State House, Ikeja GRA to Lagos House, Marina. |

RuudVanNisteroy: Yes, here is an example. Brigadier Abba Kyari was the governor of the North Western State. Note his Mercedes Benz stretch limousine (with 3 rows of seats) as he went to inspect the first batch of NYSC members in his state. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CK67azdxSXk 1 Like |

Governor Lateef Kayode Jakande (LKJ) refused to have an official car and he used his personal car when he was a governor. He also refused to move into Lagos House and instead he stayed at his personal house in Ilupeju. 2 Likes |

Unfortunately, this is the african tragedy...we are not a people who have clearly defined our ideologies by our own understanding and our peculiarities...we complain about importation and our lack of innovation which has hampered our economy and stunted our growth on technology but have ever realized that our religious beliefs, system of government, academic structure which form the basis of our mental approach to life where just handed over to us copy and paste style while we eat and digested without understanding what we consumed as staple? The problem is not in the ideologies themselves but the fact that Africans understand less of things we hold so dear and defend,we need to come to a sincere grinding halt and admit to ourselves that democracy is not the most fantastic system of government that exists and beneficial for us as Africans just because it was handed over to us by our colonial masters,if we chose to adopt it as a system it is only wise that we redefine and redesign it to suit our complex ethnicity and diverse indigenous differences. The ostentatious and brazen display of wealth by our leaders in the linings of poverty is a pointer to the fact that Africa has its ideologies and priorities upside down, these are desperate people who may be schooled but lack understanding, who may be religious but lack conscience, who may travel everywhere but lack global foresight, who may know the time but are outdated, who may come from africa but are unafrican at heart... These are European slaves mentally called eurocentrists. Sadly africa maybe never change because we are at war with a desperate cartel of power grabbers who profit at the expense of the continent and its people...how do we fight this?000,000 dollar question. I believe that they chose to use SUVs since that bomb attack because it gave them a better chance to escape in case of another attack. The bomb attack took place near Sheraton Hotel. If I remember correctly, a policeman in the last car of the motorcade was killed. Several windows at Sheraton were broken and passersby were injured by the blast. There was a second blast at the LSTC yard near the governor's office after he had arrived at his office. Since then we've had: Marwa = armoured Land Cruiser. Tinubu = armoured Mercedes Benz G Class Fashola = armoured Range Rover Ambode = armoured Land Cruiser Sanwo-Olu = armoured Land Cruiser. |

cybluesky:Our kings also lived in opulence while their subjects suffered. Nigerian leadership at political, religious and traditional level has always being about obscne opulence, while the poverty stricken subjects are meant to worship and praise them. Look at the political leaders, pastors and traditional leaders that live in opulence. 3 Likes |

naptu2:We are in a democratic regime and that is not acceptable, the incident under Marwa happened under a military regime which is expected. Even after Murtala Mohammed got assasinated the second in command to Obasanjo, Shehu Musa Yardua, was still moving in a 3 car convoy of Peugeot 504's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_LfloE6BWc |

RuudVanNisteroy: You really should stop making suggestions to me about the kind of cars and motorcades that were used. I lived very close to the head of state's garage and I know every car that was there and every car that was used. I saw their motorcades and I know that they had ferrets (armoured vehicles) and many cars in the motorcades (including Land Rover troop carriers). These are not things that I read in books or saw in videos. I saw them myself. naptu2: |
