Very true points Basco.

Not just Maddison's return but Barnes' as well. Harvey Barnes is also a starter in this Leicester side. And with all of them available, Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison and Barnes all start in a 4-1-4-1 set-up behind Vardy. The other guy on the right is usually Ayoze Perez.

Part of what's going currently for Rodgers and this Leicester side is that in the absence of Key regulars like Maddison and Barnes, they have a player in Iheanacho who enables a switch to a system (in this case 3-5-2/3-4-1-2) that utilises the available options to near optimal level while still dropping top performances even in certain key players' absences. A player that could easily fit in with Vardy in a two man attack and still ensure the team bags fine results.
Ofcos this current system Leicester is using isn't Rodgers' first choice. When the others return, a return to their first choice set-up (4-1-4-1) is likely but the question is whether Perez will be dropped for Nacho in that set-up. Time will tell on that really.

Nacho truly needs a coach that really really trusts him and utilises him in his best role consistently.

BascoVanVeli:

The only reason Iheanacho is even playing is because of injury in the Leicester squad. He was playing like this at the end of last season and Rodgers still was taking him off of matches because Madison had returned from injury at the time. Under a coach who trusts him more he would be further ahead.

Comment by TheGoodJoe made Feb 27, 2019 (Two years ago - A day after Rodgers appointment as Leicester City FC manager)
Interesting times ahead for Leicester City with the arrival of Brendan Rodgers who I consider one of the top geniuses of the game. I hope his arrival sparks good trajectory for not just our players but especially Nacho due to the attacking brand of football of Rodgers and the ability to create chances for his forwards due to his passing style.

After Tevez, the striker that really had my attention was a young Suarez and under Rodgers, Suarez got unlocked. He became one of the most lethal finishers of the game.

The next striker who caught my attention after Suarez was Iheanacho. Due to his ability of finding his way around the forward line to finish at a very impressive and lethal rate.

Starting games should not be a priority but soaking in the wisdom of the genius manager who will lead the side.

Nacho should make improving his work rate to an impressive level his priority. There is a level a player achieves in work rate that makes him impossible to drop. Bernardo Silva should be a blueprint.

(Advice, Nacho should employ Nduka Ugbade as his work rate personal trainer. Nduka Ugbade has the key and created a work rate monster in Ndidi.)

Meanwhile later today,

▶️La Liga Smartbank

SADIQ Umar (Almeria) vs Kelechi Nwakali (Alcocorn) - Home game for Almeria.

New Super Eagles invites, SADIQ, will be looking to extend his goals count for Almeria in all Competitions from 16 to higher numbers and also to help Almeria climb to a solid second on the table.

K.Nwakali has been in good form for Alcocorn and has become their midfield linchpin but today I hope SADIQ scores and Almeria edges for La liga Promotion sake. grin Nwakali and co have subsequent games to make up for a possible loss today. wink

▶️Cypriot Prothatlima Cyta

Francis Uzoho (APOEL Nicosia) vs Karmiotissa Polemidion - Home game.

Super Eagles' Super boy, Francis Uzoho will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Super Eagles' German Wall and Teammate, Maduka Okoye and New kid on the block, Matthew Yakubu who kept clean sheets over the weekend.

▶️Danish Super Ligaen

Tosin Kehinde of Randers FC away at AGF. Looking to extend his good stats of 1 goal + 5 assists. Been arguably Randers' best player this season.

▶️Bundesliga 2

Jamilu Collins and Chima Okoroji (Paderborn) away at FC St.Pauli who has Afeez Aremu in their ranks.

Collins likely to start if available. Wasn't on the matchday squad for their last game. Although he started the game before the last game with Okoroji on the bench. In Collins' absence last time, Okoroji started.

Afeez Aremu likely to start from the bench for St.Pauli.

▶️Portuguese Segunda Liga

Marcus Ayomide Abraham (CD Feirense) away at CD Mafra.

Marcus will be looking to extend his scoring run as well as lead his side to victory in his side's push for promotion to the Portuguese Primeira LIGA NOS.

▶️Israel State Cup - Gavia haMedina - Round of 16

Hapoel Kfar Shalem vs Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem.

A Naija lad is getting close to promotion to the topflight in Israel with his side, Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem. Adebayo Adeleye is his name. A Goalkeeper mentioned here on several occasions before.

His league stats read 24 games played, 13 goals conceeded, 15 clean sheets.

Today, he will star in a cup game for his side.

Why is the foreign media this bias. Iheanacho scored a hat trick yesterday and neither of Bleacher report, bbc sports, goal.com, espn fc, espn uk posted it on their social media (Facebook) handle. The most annoying part is bleacher report : If an American create an assist, they would be hyping the player like he is the next big thing to happen.

really happy for KC I have always insisted along with other notable posters like Goodjoe and Supernerd that if you give Iheanacho a run of games you will begin to see the best of him. Whatever happens going forward whether Kelz decides to stay at Leicester or go elsewhere he has shown that he's an elite level striker which rightly trashes the frankly ridiculous notion by some posters would not be able to attract suitors in the EPL.

I know some peeps would saw why are we celebrating because he scored against the bottom teams in the EPL well he can only score against the teams put before him.

U are totally right. Let's just hope his good form continues and that makes it hard for Rodgers when the rest return.

When I said almost all I meant they are many but you wan want take the truth grin

Is the 21 year old Chelsea lonee benching Pepe

When fact is being spoken you call it hate ,you can cry for all I care ,this is about Pepe being better than many epl defenders at 38 and this is not about hating the epl ok

If you think young zouma is better than old pepe then you must be smoking a very strong weed cheesy

VVD laporte Thiago Silva is agreed ,I guess these are the only 3 reasonable defenders in the epl

Combine christensen rudiger and all your rest chrlsea defenders he is better than them cheesy

Is tielemans a defender ? Stop exposing your self nah ,the last time I checked he is a regular at Leicester so what are you saying

Mitrovic is better than marega but Na championship Dey always be him calling cheesy cheesy cheesy

Tielemans didn’t do that well at Monaco but was still sold to Leicester for about 40m and he found the epl easier than the farmers league

Mentioning tielemans on this arguement show say your sense run leave you

Once again my arguement was about Pepe being better than so many epl defenders but your anger no allow you read well

And the reason why Thiago Silva vvd and laporte is better than Pepe is because he is 38

Oya move

the fact that he is 38 and better than all epl defenders is something I find worrisome. due to how fast and intense the league is, older players like Pepe will hardly get a contract above one year.
I also like how you shot yourself in the leg when you confirmed that "and the reason why Thiago Silva vvd and Laporte are better than Pepe is because he is 38". even outside the epl top 6, Lewis dunk, tarkowski and even Saiss are better and stronger.

and again, I can't even stress it enough, i didn't say the 21y/o is benching him Lol. I was pointing out that the guy is also competing for his spot too(Pepe).
neither did I say that tielemans was a defender, I was also pointing out how every good player wants to play in the epl so bad, even in smaller teams. you're right anyway, I smoked a strong weed

once player dey small team, he becomes average automatically but you dey forget where vvd, Maguire, stones, Laporte and the rest come from.
Pepe is 38 and playing in a top team in Portugal (outside the Europe top 5), past his prime and can still go on for years if he likes but he's no better than MANY epl defenders no matter their team.

Na Marvelous dey your GIF so? Yeah KC is doing well right now truth be told. I am on Basco's train I don't think Brendan really likes him in my opinion. His responses to questions about KC last week and this week makes it so glaring. After scoring a hat trick and winning the match ball, he still found a way if saying he missed a couple of chances, come on, this is after your team handsomely won by 5 nil. So yes he should soak up as much knowledge as he can, but I think his future might lie elsewhere. By the way I really liked KC's interview after the game. Very humbly, giving God the gratitude and dedicating the match ball to mothers!!!! Jah bless KC, Jah bless all 9ja players and the SE!!

Much like Perez yesterday, kels is playing in his actual role.

He cannot play as a lone striker so every manager who has been making him do that for the last few years have been a contributing factor to the lads demise as a player.

I assume BR will resort back to flogging him as a lone striker when Madders is back.

NB:Iheanacho has scored a goal every 137 minutes in the past 2 seasons, while Jesus has scored one every 150 minutes (in a better team)"
..mcity fans dont rate Jesus at all
