About 11 suspects who specialize in stealing and selling children across the country, were paraded on Wednesday by the Benue State Command of the Department of State Services, DSS, in collaboration with the State Security Council.
The kidnappers and child traffickers included one Adejo Ogiri alias Okala, Affonne Nwokocha, from Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, Ezekiel and his wife, Amarachi.
While Nwokocha confessed to facilitating the buying and selling of children, Okala confessed to newsmen he had kidnapped four children and handed them over to one Ezekiel, a bus driver from Imo State.
Adejo said, “Each time I kidnapped children from any part of the state, I usually took them to Ezekiel who in turn, would hand them over to his wife, Amarachi, who specialised in receiving stolen children for the purposes I don’t know.

The Civil Liberties Organisation, CLO, has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari’s inaction over the continuous killings by Fulani herdsmen suggest that he is sponsoring them.

Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in a 44-page document made available to Vanguard on Thursday, described Nnaka as a man trying to reap from where he did not sow. Malami said the Nigerian Government would not pay Nnaka the huge amount he is asking for since he is not qualified to practise law in the Maryland area where the case is taking place and did not recover any money for the country 14 years after the former Attorney General of the Federation, Olujimi, gave him a provisional letter to help locate and recover the Abacha loot. The court has also held that since the temporary letter given to Nnaka by Olujimi was not revalidated by Mohammed Adoke when the forfeiture case resumed in 2013, the lawyer could therefore not claim to be representing Nigeria. But Nnaka has appealed against the ruling and threatened to sue Malami for saying that he was not qualified to represent Nigeria and was not entitled to 40 percent of the Abacha loot. The litany of cases filed by Nnaka and the appeal by the USDOJ in conjunction with Nigeria, are said to be delaying the repatriation of the huge cash to Nigeria}.

Troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, have killed two bandits in the Kaduna and Zamfara axis and arrested four suspects in connection with cattle rustling and impersonation.

The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement on Monday that the bandits were killed during operations by the troops to clear cattle rustlers and bandit camps.

Usman said the troops recovered a revolver and six locally fabricated 9mm rounds of ammunition from one of the dead bandits.

He also said that troops in Zamfara cleared two bandits’ camps, recovered 209 cows, 1, 062 goats and sheep at Dumburum forest general area of Zurmi Local Government Area of the state.

A businessman, identified simply as Ogbaire, has allegedly murdered his associate, Lawrence Ojoh, and buried his body in a shallow grave in Warri, Delta State.
Okoh, a native of Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state, left his Port Harcourt business outfit to supply generator spare parts to a customer in Warri.
After the supply on August 2, Okoh, fondly called Law, did not return home and police declared him missing. The deceased had, earlier that day, sent a text message to his wife that he would not make it back to Port Harcourt and that he would pass the night with his customer in Warri.
