CAD to naira was 250 naira when i came and could survive with a job for months. Today its 1092. A one bedroom studio when i came to Toronto was 1300 today’s its 2300. There are fewer jobs today than then. The target of my message are students who come here without any-money thinking they can pay for their fees and bills . But 6 months down no job. They are all over social media crying

the influx of people outstripped job growth
ifs the same mess we are facing in the UK...

the economy will eventually adjust

Stop lying abeg!

There are jobs in Canada, far more than in many other nations.

Just come in legally as a Permanent Resident (P.R).

Key point is to make sure to research that your skills are in demand over there.

It is easier to get a Job as a resident of Canada than from outside Canada... And the economy is not anywhere as bad as some of you paint it.

Many of the people that complain a lot are people who didn't enter countries like Canada, Australia, etc, as legal Permanent Residents... Typical are the ones that come in as refugees.

I understand that many of you Nigerians based abroad hate to see your fellow countrymen joining you there, but don't lie anyhow and paint too many unnecessary negative pictures.

It's childish and annoying.

the bolded is a very fallacious statement to make
From this comment you made
I can bet my left ball that u are not based abroad because if you are. you will see for yourself how the economy is so screwed esp in the UK and Canada

If you are old enough to remember, we are back to the UK/US/Canada of 2009-2011 where everywhere was hard so much so that people were going back to naija to get jobs at least to hide temporarily.

Economy goes in cycles and right now, the economy is in the pit

it does not mean there won't be a resurgence, but for now, everywhere tight

Nigerians dey owe rent for this UK

disappointed because i have an opinion?
i am not homophobic, i have nothing against gays and lesbians.... i only am against the force-feed of their agenda down everyone's throat. anyone has the right to be whatever they desire, but the minute they start making THEIR cause above any other, thats when i have a problem with it. i dont need my kids or anyone else to be brainwashed in school about LGBT issues and told we have to call somebody what they are not. i believe that a MAN is a MAN and a WOMAN is a WOMAN. if these transgenders and whatever want to call themselves unicorn and dress in whatever clothing then they have the right to do so but they certainly shouldnt force me to live their madness. i have many gay/lesbians friends and acquaintances around me, and the catch is that as much as i accept their lifestyle, they should also accept mine, and never try to force their lifestyle upon me. thats the only we can all live happily together.

so you believe that after receiving that money, the price of goods in Nigeria will change? lol...

all these loans and money dashed has to be repaid and comes with serious strings attached.... tomorrow when they start teaching gay/lesbian nonsense to your kids in school, you will be the 1st one to cry foul.
1st they want you to accept their agenda, then they want you to have a LGBT group freely advertising in your country and airwaves, that same group will organize gay pride and defiles where they will invite all to proudly come out the closet, by then they will start to lobby to decriminalize gay sex in Nigeria...to thereafter start to ask you to recognize transgender and call these people them/they or whatever other yeye nonsense they want you to go out of your way to call them.

thats like borrowing money from the local gangster and now he wants you to repay him by pushing drugs for him.

Why is Tinubu building hospital in Abia? Does it mean we don't need more hospitals again in Lagos or other SW states. The other day they started building the Renewed Hope housing units in the same Abia. For people that don't appreciate it and will never appreciate anything. Despite creating an enabling environment for them to prosper in Lagos they still abuse you. I advice Mr. President to please change course. Let Obi use his money to build hospital for them.

ObiPandora:
This is how you obidient ipob alienate every one that can help your curse n save Nigerians from the doldrum it presently is. The fact that anyone support Tinubu does not mean the perosn can not demand good government.

This is why Kenyans are able to unite m fight the government successfully, so many of those that voted Ruto are also the one leading this protest. They are not on social media barking like lunatics at everyone who voted Ruto over whatever sentiment be it tribal or religious Ruto was voted like you Igbos descended because Nigerians rejected Peter Obi.

If another election hold tomorrow I will still not vote Peter Obi because he is not capable and as not shown me he is a unifier. I will also not vote an ipob supporter, I can go on n on with why I will personally not vote Obi but that doesn't stop does wanting him not to vote for him but of course your foolish souls think because you 2ant the best for Nigeria Obi is the answer like the rest of us want the worse for Nigeria.

Like VeryDarkman, you will learn n learn the hard way that in politics everyone as a right to their choices, just as every Igbo as the right to vote Obi so does every single Nigeria that does not want to vote an Igbo be it Obi or any other Igbo so do we have that right n you gaslighting your souls to oblivion doesn't change a thing.

It's your fundamental right to not vote Obi
that's fine

But saying Obi is not a unifier implies that you believe Tinubu, divider in chief, emilokan agbero politics of targeting igbos at the ballot box is a unifier...

That goes to show you have a very very low IQ......

Voting and analysing politics based on tribe and tribalism instead of policies show you even have a lower IQ

and BTW
the supposed igbos you are talking about "having choice" were not even allowed to exercise their choice at the ballot cos the agberos and thugs attacked them on election day, so your argument of choice is also void

Not true.

Yes there is a higher standard of life out there.

There are certain jobs that are reserved for citizens.

Like working in the intelligence services.

There are certain places non-citizens will never enter.

That is certainly a glass ceiling of some sort.

Yes, the pay is better. The standard of living is better.

But the way our people worship the white man if he comes here with ideas, that will never be extended to the black man from Africa.

I know of a cybersecurity company from Africa whose product is widely used, globally by law enforcement, defence and intelligence agencies, their founders went on tape to say they were treated like a an outcast despite how much the industry loves their product.

At the last international conference and exhibition they attended, so few people turned up for their training.

They decided to sell the product and the company and the brand to whites out of frustration.

I sell another similar product and I remember how when I approached the company, in their email trail the CEO was saying we got this email from Africa, see how good their English is, like only whites can speak good English.

Now this company later went on to close a deal with one of our defence bodies without me, the very person who introduced them after a multi-year cooperation with me to bring the deal from conception to fruition. Their representative came to Nigeria and signed a very big contract and left the country without even informing me. But I subsequently later found out. Isn't that corruption? That they keep accusing Africans of?

I can go and on and on.

There is a glass ceiling whether we choose to see it or not, and whether we choose to admit it or not.

While the white man can come here and go back with a billion dollar contract from our government, it is almost impossible for a black man to go there and replicate the same.

the bolded is the fault of the black man (and the oriental man too, cos some of them do this crap)
what stops the black man from reciprocating the same gesture towards these foreign fellows ?

At least despite how shady naija is, at least we do some form of reciprocating when it comes to visas

If you don't give my people
you sef no go get access to naija

but most African countries, because they are so brain dead and useless will grant visa free access to these westerners who won't reciprocate, and then ban visa free access to fellow Africans
if you were a non African looking in, won't you see these fellows as foolish

Sometimes we need to look ourselves in the mirror and realise that SOME of our problems we face on a global scale is OUR OWN DOING

Don't discount being able to live among your own people with similar culture.
Not to talk of the ceilings most immigrants abroad face. I think some people wouldn't be comfortable with the reality that they're second class citizens and have certain peaks they'd never reach. I know some of you do not care about such, but some do.

Citing purely amenities kind of still makes me annoyed. We neglect our society and run to the abroad to develop them. It's infuriating.

So to sum it up, it's not just about easy sex, as any hardworking/ moderate looking man who knows how the world works will get regular sex in any part of the world. For me it's been hard to japa cos it doesn't feel right.

Kwasi Kwarteng became chancellor of the exchequer
Rishi Sunak became prime minister
Savid Javid became home secretary or chancellor too (can't remember)
Priti Patel became home secretary
and the list goes on
Houmza Yousef became first minister in Scotland

Descendants of migrants here in Britain can actually reach heights in this country regardless of the issues of racism that is still there, but not as prevalent

As an Igbo man in Nigeria
that already is a glass ceiling for many of us, due to the tribalism that have infested that sh@thole...

so please spare us that talk about "glass ceiling"

Utter bunkum.....99% of Nigerians do not travel abroad to live a comfortable life without stress. They travel to make enough Dollars, Pounds or Euros which they intend to convert to Naira and thus become a Big Boy in Nigeria.

Most Nigerians travel abroad inorder to live a comfortable life without stress in NIGERIA. A comfortable life without stress does not exist abroad. The whole idea of Nigerians travelling is to come back to Nigeria as a rich man. Most get stuck abroad when that aim is not realized, then turn around to start yapping nonsense about Nigeria not being safe or comfortable. The truth is bitter.

That hunger will wire you.

You have become shamelessly beggarly. Worst still you are sending a plea to faceless individuals who are dealing with their own demons.

If you are eating lower than a rich man's dog and you could not really determine what is responsible for your situation, but still blaming the President of the country, then you are on a long thing.

In this same Nigeria, we have some non political actors living fine and eating decently. Some of your mates are sending money to support their friends abroad. You have taken begging to another new colourful level.

It is never easy anywhere, go out and start working. Learn to solve people's problems and get paid instead of shamelessly begging on the internet.

Politics / Re: Northerners In Tinubu’s Govt Reduced To Choristers – Salihu Lukman by RodgersAkpafu: 6:26pm On Jul 01
DrTee1:
Governance and Administration in our country must be very difficult in Nigeria.

People - who should be responsible politicians - get angry over "sharing formula" and simply declare things that plunge poor citizenry against themselves over tribe and religion.

For all we know, here is a disgruntled former APC member who has recently resigned from the party due to personal differences, possibly over the cake sharing; coming out to stoke embers of ethnic divide.

It is a shame. The President has told everyone to hold their governors responsible for development, but this ethnic bigot is too blinded to address that. The truth is that the percentage of the FAAC which all the governors collect is larger than what the FG gets. The difference is that the FG collects singly collects her share of the lesser percentage while the 36+1 States state their own pool of the bigger percentage that is nearly 60% of FAAC.

The fact is that the enormity of civil servants and MDAs which the FG has to service possibly explains some of this lopsidedness in the favour of the FG, but most State Governors have completely subsumed and alienated development at the most remote of local governments. What we have is that the State government take their thirty something percent of FAAC and add it to the twenty something percent for local governments in FAAC to their State JAACs.

At JAACs, they give crumbs to the local administrations in the councils, who largely exist at the mercies of the State Governors who impose them without elections, or with rigged State Electoral Body elections that has no opposition party winning any seat. The State then takes it upon itself to develop all the local governments from the centre at the State Capital, invalidating any possibility of development at the rural areas where the essential agricultural products come from. Naturally, development decreases as the distance from the state capital centre lengthens in this arrangement. This must change. We must ensure that the local governments work, and the President has sued the State Governors to the Supreme court to achieve this. Nigerians must realise the root causes of our problems.

This is one of the structural problem with Nigeria: not choristers or anything. Tinubu is no longer figuring for legitimacy which requires people to sing about standing on amy mandate. If anything, he publicly told people to shut up while singing the song. We must face governance squarely. There is a reason why campaigns are banned 24 hours to any elections and are not lifted until a few months before an election. Don't overheat the polity by feeding people with heresies or outright falsehoods.

look at this dull agbado ronu fellow trying to surreptitiously launder Tinubu image and paint him good

He is still having legitimacy issues
His presidency so far has been a disaster
And come 2027, he will be booted out
