Politics / Re: Cross River Benefited More In Buhari's Administration - Governor Ayade by Rorhymes(m): 8:47am On Feb 08, 2018
It is both sad and disheartening when a governor believes that progress has come to a state because of federal appointments.
What economic or infrastructural input has come to the state?
What impact have any of these appointments had on the people in those states?
I don't understand why we feel the need to politicize everything if you are trying to appease the president and secure a position by all means do it but please not like this. Federal appointments IS NOT equal to state development

Truth be said we have all come to know and see that Mr President was not what we hoped, thought and felt. It was also refreshing to give change a chance and to realize that the grass always *Looks* greener on the other side.

Hi, mate.

Thanks for the enquiry.

My view of the present state of affairs was already coincidentally predicted by myself 2 years:

https://www.nairaland.com/2797178/unemployment-leaderships-selfishness-agony-depressed/1#40941673

When black idiots vote for fools, they get what they deserve. Including being sold like cattle in Libya.

I warned repeatedly that the Cretin of Otuoke was the dumbest thing ever and people should kick him out in 2011, but despite 2 better options (Ribadu and Buhari), they voted for the reeetard who destroyed the country.

Four years of black gold bonanza that led to our highest budgets ever was all squandered and looted using private jets of pastors.

A pure looting garlour of goats eating yam, reserves depleted and squandered, with destruction of institutions and moral fibre. To the point a crass market woman can be emboldened to go to court to lay claim to $30m dollars she cannot explain.

As I said in 2015:

"You will all pay for this grave mistake.

The way it is now, the prospects for majority of the youths in the near future is bleak and your kids will also be products of a failed education system as there is no money to fund anything well.

Nigeria is back to square one and we have to start rebuilding from scratch again like we did in 1999.

Remember: It is far easier to destroy than to repair/build.

The jobs of the youth today is not to enjoy but to work hard and build for the youths 2 generations away.

Your lives, hopes and future (in regards to enjoyment and ease) as been destroyed by GEJ."

It is time to suffer! And Nigerians are suffering.

As for present adminstration, they have a serious challenge in their hand. They have to build everything from the ground up again (as I said 2 years ago "from scratch"wink. Every fibre of the public life was reeking with corruption including judges. Nothing works.

As I said: "It is easier to destroy than build".

The economy was based on capital from crooks, who then used it to hold on to power and continue their crookedness. The likes of Emeka Offor were labelled "business moguls". Someone that probably cannot spell "university".

When you close these thieves looting tap, the economy will inevitably suffer. People do not know how to do things the right way as companies never saw it as a feasible way before. Investors want to see how the change pans out first so they withold on high risk investments.

Motherfuckers will lose jobs and suffer.

As I famously said, Buhari has great intentions but I never trusted his intellect or competence, and he has not proved me wrong.

https://www.nairaland.com/2132222/former-dictator-better-choice-than/6#30484386

That said, he was a far better and the right choice between the two in the 2015 elections. Otherwise, middle-class Nigerians would be eating from bins today with the way PDP was looting the country to stupor.

So what is the way forward? I don't agree he was a better choice though. So much was stalled and alot of the previous administrations recommendations are being implemented. Removal of subsidy to name one. I think he was not the best man for the job (but hey we can agree to disagree). It is good we have all had a taste of him, now we can drop the funny idea that fighting corruption is the most important thing for a president.

No 1, he has hardly done anything of note out of the tons of things that need to be done in Nigeria. Even his supporters cannot summon anything when you ask them. Some run when you challenge them to state why they suppport him (e.g. Beaf) and some give lame rubbish about his achievements. There are several things that can be done in 6 months, talkless of 10 months.

No 2, whatever pathetic rubbish/little they can summon that he has done "that is good" is completely irrelevant when weighed or juxtapose to what he has done or refused to do "that is bad". He is a completely useless and unprincipled man.

I judge leaders by 2 things:

1) Competence - Intelligence, knowledge, leadership, pro-activity, achievements, inspirationalism etc

2) Intentions - Are they out to do good? Do they put the nation first at most times? Are they honest? What is there track record? etc

The Silverback Gorilla fails on both terms and is inferior to the other main candidates on both.

On competence, he himself has admitted (revealed in wikileaks) that he is not capable of the job. His supporters can not come up with anything he has done in 10 MONTHS out of the plethora of things that can be or need to be done in Nigeria.

His judgement is so poor, if he is any more stewpid, I think they would have to water his brain. I have seen him at TV interviews and he is as slow and has boring as they come. He cannot inspire starving monkeys to be excited about a banana plantation when released into it. He was totally liverless when some cabals were running Nigeria whilst our President was dying and probably not lucid. He and his wife's public utterances are of educated illiterates. The dumbo was even saying he plans to build an airport in every state in Nigeria. Even ordinary Nigerian college students in Western countries on NL could give multiple reasons why that was a stewpid idea. He has no achievement till date anyone can point to. His rivals have achievements, are inspirational, pro-active and intelligent.

On intentions, I can not trust a Gorilla (that calls himself PRESIDENT) that will send his wife and Minister to join in the fanfare of welcoming someone convicted of corruption in a corruption-destroyed society. Then a Gorilla that now invited the convict to discuss elections is not fit to be President. I can not trust a Gorilla that prevented EFCC from arresting Uduaghan when he briefly lost his immunity because he needs his help in Delta State for the presidential elections. I can not trust a Gorilla that has not brought anyone to court after ONE YEAR for the Halliburton bribery despite people haven been convicted in the US and have also confessed to bribing Nigerian officials, even though the names of the officials have been provided to him. I can not trust a Gorilla that is already in power but yet calls IBB (a known criminal) his father. That is a Gorilla that will lead Nigeria for the next 4 years with Business as Usual for corrupt people. His rivals are more clean and have better intentions.

What kind of Human being wants to vote for such a man?

People get moved forward, applauded or recommended because they did their job. Wats wrong with that? A lot of people are employed to do theirs and do not. As a staff don't u feel some form of thanks/ gratitude is in order wen u do sumthn others thot cldnt ße done or didn't want 2do hello??

Why are we so quick to judge all the ministers or people in power? 90% of the populace given d same opportunity will chop and clean mouth so abeg make nobody drop any holier than thou line 4here.

People have inflated costs in their offices & homes n think its okay and try to make a case that sum1 is choppin Nigeria's money. Abeg abeg abeg.

Going forward if you hav a problem wit the president or the ministers then write out Uя probable solutions. He is on facebook & twitter and so are a lot of them. Let us help build not help pull down. We are so eager to find out wat they are doin wrong wat kind of mentality is that?

Are der still fuel queues like there used to be the answer is №! Hav there been ministers before now yes was der scarcity at d time yes. So diesel is high and kerosene is high has d price of garri reduced?? Where in d world do u know that the price of a product that is in high demand 4yrs ago is still the same? Even ticket to afganistan has increased.

They are not perfect and neither are you. They are tryn and we will get there. It may not be 2moro but if they keep at it they will.
Business / Re: Fuel Scarcity And The State Of Our Petroleum Sector by Rorhymes(m): 2:00pm On May 31, 2011
Didn't know all that was achieved. But for a fact I know that the fuel queues are gone. That's two thumbs up

I'm sure we were talkn abt fuel wat is dis pornodude talkn about? How does any of that affect the petroleum minister?

I know u mustav bin feeln a little distraught wen u typed this and I commiserate with u.

However these actions up North could only have been averted if the people were not stirred to violence or if better checks were in place to stop the occurence (hence the sack of the interior minister- it was his responsibility to "observe and report" he was probably watchin sumthn else)

The first step was to remove the weak link as it where and put someone who would take it more seriously. Relevant armed officials have already been deployed and even state offices are doing their own part in protecting who they can.

Though I think the citizens/ governors in those states would not have lost so much if they had been proactive. Every1 knew trouble was brewing but I'm sure like the average man, everyone was like 'its not my business'.  Its SAD,

I believe Mr President wud get untop of the matter like was done with the people in Niger Delta. But like NigerDelta it took awhile so for all the people in those zones. I say a pray 4u, that God keeps you safe & out of harms way.

Politics / Re: Why I Cancelled Jakande's Lagos Metroline, By Buhari by Rorhymes(m): 11:32am On Apr 11, 2011
Based on the FACTS we have on this thread.

1. GMB admits that he did that

2. The reason he gave does not hold water

3. No one else here has relevant facts to either attack or support what he has said (primarily because Nigeria at the time had not internet, data storage bank or anyone that thought this information would be useful later)

4. It doesnt matter how many people advice you as president or how many committees you tell to look into it. the decision would rest solely on you. If you make a wrong decision it will come back to haunt you.

The moral of the story is this. GMB made a mistake, GMB tried to make up for it with an "innapropriate excuse" all he should have said was he is sorry.

Explaining now really does not change anything; the project was never executed, money was still lost and Lagos traffic is not any better if he was as sincere as he is painted out to be he should have explained all this in the last two years before he wanted to become president as far as im concerned this is just an effort to try and curry sympathy or objectivity from the citizens of Lagos.

If he wants to or wanted to help he still can, not as a president but as a person.

The president deserves sum credit for creating an enabling environment, for putting a competent person and for keeping to his words. A lot of people today do not even know how to do that.
Mr President deserves credit and that's that. Also if u want to wait to see if it is your candidate dat wins first before u can say it is free and fair then I really don't have anything to say to you. So far some major PDP big wigs have lost their slots and constituencies and have been swept away in most cases (pun intended) if that is not eye opening enough or free and fair enough.
Then its sad to say that u are unobjective and biased and one of the reasons we have problems in Nigeria

The most famous of the philosophes was Voltaire (1694–1778). A prolific writer, critic, and reformer

@ kilode - Francois Marie Arouet (pen name Voltaire) was born on November 21, 1694 in Paris. Voltaire’s intelligence, wit and style made him one of France’s greatest writers and philosophers.

HE was a French Enlightenment writer, historian and philosopher famous for his wit and for his advocacy of civil liberties, including freedom of religion and free trade. Voltaire was a prolific writer, producing works in almost every literary form including plays, poetry, novels, essays, and historical and scientific works. He wrote more than 20,000 letters and more than 2,000 books and pamphlets.(THESE ARE ALL ACHIVEMENTS AND THIS IS WHAT HE IS REMEMBERED FOR.)

From 1759 to 1778 Ferney was home to French writer and philosopher Voltaire. His influence on the town was profound. He built the local church and founded cottage industries that produced some of the finest potters and watchmakers of modern France. After the French Revolution, the town was renamed "Ferney-Voltaire" in his honor. (HE WASNT ALL TALK AS YOU CAN SEE)

In 1759, after having lived in Geneva less than two years, Voltaire had purchased the estate of Ferney in France, near the Swiss border. A prime reason for his leaving Geneva was that theatre was forbidden in that Calvinist city, so he had decided to become the enlightened "patriarch" of the little village of Ferney, setting up potteries, a watchmaking industry and, of course, theaters, attracting rich people from Geneva to watch his plays.

During Voltaire's residence, the population of Ferney increased to more than 1,000. Voltaire lived there for the last 20 years of his life before returning to Paris, where he died in 1778. (SOURCE :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferney-Voltaire)

IN SUMMARY THE STATUE WAS PUT UP BECAUSE OF THE THINGS HE WAS ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH/ DO FOR THE TOWN

Voltaire was one of several Enlightenment figures (along with Montesquieu, John Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Émilie du Châtelet) whose works and ideas influenced important thinkers of both the American and French Revolutions. (SOURCE:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voltaire)

If believing that people can change or need a second chance is a crime GEJ should be locked up to.

Now if all of such people are locked up who would be left on the streets or even as president?? I shudder at the thought of such a Nigeria.

How can GEJ have assisted in Releasing IBORI??

Does he even have a say in DUBAI? he is not even a muslim for starters so there is no 'brotherly love' to even start with.

they have too much money already so they couldn't have been bribed. so the only options are he has serves his term or he has a 'johnny cockran' type of lawyer. i'll be going for the latter though.

But wat is the relationship betwen ibori and GEJ? stop postulating conspiracy theories and be real

Is it just me or has this discussion turned 2 jonathan Vs Buhari? what about ribadu past sins?? (okay thats true he is a freshman so he doesnt have any lol grin)

Just quick thought. Is it about the man or is it about his party?

Buhari - Has his corrupt clear background (yeah right) but his CPC is questionable .(Alhaji Sule Hamman who is d Director General of d Buhari Campaign Organisation was found guilty of corruption & was detained in Kirikiri by Buhari wen he was head of state becoz he looted his state’s treasury, there is also the question mark of Abachas Son)

Ribadu- Has his corrupt free background (and we are all forgetting that he was recruited, trained and installed by the then PDP administration) but his ACN is also questionable (It has Lagos state former Governor Bola Tinubu who is famous for "running things" and was chased by Ribadu in the past on corruption charges, the same Ribadu went to IBB for "blessings"wink

GEJ- has his corrupt free background but his party is questionable( The stories are much abeg)

But when it comes to it, its not really about the party becoz every1 has a "suspicious" party its about the man. Nigeria needs someone that understands what the issues are, someone that is patient, that is not opportunistic someone willing to take the blame. someone that can be counted upon.

Someone like, GEJ grin

Proactive people do not waste time on the problem. It really doesnt matter whose fault it is, what matters is that the problem is solved and it doesnt happen again.

In a good setup, you are free to fail ( grin) because the fear of failure doesnt allow for progress. If anybody cannot criticise constructively and try to proffer solutions then there should be no point listening to such a person.

After all there is no country in the world that has erected a statue for a critic.

Read through a few of the posts here and i can summarize by typing

1. The accusations are false

2. Alot of people have ill feelings towards GEJ and PDP

3. Same People have allowed same feelings cloud their judgement on the subject matter, we are discussing the topic "Debate Questions Have Been Sent To Jonathan, With Evidence: Sahara Report"

Just typing;Majority that are still talkn about GEJ, his incompetence, or that of the PDP obviously have some kind of issues. i mean how can you insult or abuse your leadership?? If the head of a country is a fool (this is just for discussion sake) what does that make the citizens hello!!

Any self respecting Nigerian should know that at all times tough decisions need to be made and even though they may not please the decision maker they have to be made. the NN24 debate was good but the 'Registered voters of Nigeria" were not considered and this is asides the fact that it was sponsored by sum major stake holders (for those of us that watched you know who sponsored it their names were announced at the end and at the beginning) The majority of registered voters are the ones that queue up to pay and watch football matches at viewing centers, they are not the ones that have Blackberries, if you doubt it send a broadcast and find out how many of your contacts 1. have registered to vote, 2. know that there is a procedure to vote on saturday, 3. will actually go out and vote, i guarantee you will be surprised

Finally, dont judge a book by its cover and dnt punish a son for his fathers mistakes. the PDP aint perfect neither is GEJ, neither am I most especially neither are YOU!

If you decide to vote do it because you want Nigeria to move forward, you want to see an improvement and vote the best candidate based on what they have been able to achieve and what they are doing right now. Not what they intend to do. empty pockets never held anyone back before everyone that has husstled on the streets of Lagos can atest to that.

Vote for a man with a dream, a man with a vision. (vote GEJ grin, ha ha) coz i kno i will
