Politics / Re: Makinde: Paying ₦‎70,000 Minimum Wage Won't Be Too Challenging by shinealight(m): 3:54pm On Jul 21
If it is ‘No Stress’ for Makonde to pay N70k as he claims, he should understand that the word ‘Minimum’ gives All Governors and even the central Govt the latitude to pay more, where they can afford to.
They do not all have to go for the minimum. Minimum means MINIMUM.
Regardless of the new Law, any State Govt, Parastatal or organisation is at liberty to elect to adopt even N250k as its minimum, if it so chooses and can afford it! cool cool

If someone is in stack violation of the law, the common sense thing that should happen is for that person to be arrested and prosecuted for thoze illegal acts -- in this case he would need to be impeached first. The fact that I continue to point out the illegallity of the actions of the Governors means I expect common sense to come next. Use your brain. And please stop responding if you are going to continue projecting. undecided

Try to adequately reason the content of a post before responding. undecided

What you refer to as the status quo has been of illegal acts, violations of section 162 by your Governors for almost 25 years now that have been largely ignored by a population mostly ignorant of the details of their own Law. Now, to solve that illegality, rather than insist on the Law, your Supreme Court which is tasked with upholding the Constitution completely ignores it altogether to insist on another illegallity. How can that favor the people when the ones who continue to benefit are instead your politicians? undecided

Does it make sense for people like you to seek to maintain the Status Quo (which is demonstrably an illegality) simple because your IMAGINATION suggests to YOU and ONLY YOU and your co-travellers that the SUPREME COURT OF THE LAND may be introducing another illegality.
What makes you think you’re wiser than the Supreme Court Justices?
Politics / Re: Let The Third Tier Breathe: Implications Of The Supreme Court Verdict - Onanuga by shinealight(m): 9:53am On Jul 17
Kobojunkie:
Onanuga is a liar! This is an attempt to play on the intelligence of the notably gullible Nigerian people to justify the hijacking of power and control over the LGs by the FG itself by way of a supreme court ruling that equally violates Section 162. This is an attempt to use an illegal move to try to rectify another illegal move, of course, to grant greater power in the democracy to the FG. undecided

Section 162 does not give power and control over LG and LG Funds to the State Governors. Rather, the rogue Governors have been taking advantage of the LGs thanks in no way to the corrupt and inept government as well as the populace who have been asleep at the wheels of their democracy. undecided

Your comment in bold is nothing but balderdash! undecided
Talking about Section 162, are you claiming to be more knowledgeable or wiser than the Supreme Court Justices?
If you realise that the State Governors have been bearing down on the LG Administrations and stealing funds meant for them, shouldn’t we rejoice that someone with balls has introduced legislation to clip their wings and allow the LGs to breathe?
Why must you wish for the status quo to remain merely because you think the FG wants more power….more power to do what exactly? Your reasoning is totally illogical and ridiculous! cool cool

The question now, some are saying Tinubu saved or helped Atiku but Atiku is saying he helped Tinubu and he went ahead to reeled out how they formed AC and those that formed it. You people should try and understand topic, this is how some of you fail exam. Mingling 2007 with 2014, you're lost.

God1blessBiafra:

So you people bring nothing to the table.

Anyway I love how you are honest about wanting one Nigeria because of resources not because it good being one.

Every Region or Tribe has something that they bring to the table but Nigeria is a developing country in which many of the available resources are yet to be fully tapped and exploited. It does not mean that others bring nothing to the table. When the country operated Regional government, every region had something to bring to the table and things worked fine until the military struck!
As of this moment, Oil is the main resource that every part of the Nation depends upon. Gold may be discovered in abundance in Benue State tomorrow or other minerals may be discovered in the South West tomorrow in sufficient quantities to feed the entire nation, then they can all tap into that to feed everybody. That is what being Your Brother’s Keeper is all about.
A section of the country should not plan to run away with what can feed the entire country….that is nothing but self-centredness, selfishness and short-sightedness!
As for what is good and desirable that you wrote about, imagine your sister wanting to marry her sweetheart whom she loves very much (that’s good and desirable) but if the guy is broke or a scrounger, that wouldn’t help put food on the family table, neither will it assist her in sending her junior ones to school if that assistance is needed.
So, what is good or desirable is not always what is best all round for all concerned! Think about that. Goodbye! cool

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is only asking for referendum.

Why do you expect Kanu to accept that when there are people from south south that are among his ipob.
Won't it be a betray from his side?

But with referendum, they will see that's their people don't want to be part of Biafra and not Kanu's fault.

Wait ooo are you saying you people want one Nigeria by fire and by force because of resources not because it's good?

Yes, of course it’s all because of Resources….better realise that.
There are over 200 million people inhabiting the geographical space called Nigeria without sufficient “exploited resources” to go round.
I don’t want my people to starve, you don’t want your people to starve, nobody wants their people to starve.
So, you better believe it’s all about sharing of resources.
So, Kanu cannot expect to take the resources which everyone is presently sharing without getting one hell of a fight.
That’s the plain truth….better believe it!! cool cool

God1blessBiafra:
This why ipob have been calling for referendum.

Millions of dollars your Nigeria government have spent in fighting Ipob would have conducted referendum and everything settled.

People will make their choices because no one is supposed to forced to be one country.

Kanu was reported to have declined the Offer of a Biafra without parts of the South South. This gives the impression that he’s only interested in the Oil resources of those States. That’s where the problem lies because the rest of Nigeria (particularly the North) will Never allow him to go with the Oil resources while they languish in abject poverty. Check it….in case you’re too young to understand what is involved! cool cool

Then so be it.

I don't know why you people are so afraid to have a country without Biafrans.

We were doing well separately until forced together and called Nigeria.

Is South South part of your so-called Biafra?
Have you conducted a Referendum to ascertain which States wish to be part of your Biafra?
What makes you think all your neighbours (with established Oil & Mineral resources) wish to be part of your Biafra?
Are they sooo dumb that they cannot manage their own resources without being part of your Biafra?
Are the Igbos willing to break away from Nigeria without the other South South States that do not wish to be part of your Biafra?
These are questions you should address. I do not believe that majority of people are “afraid” to have a Nigeria without Igboland! cool cool

My friend that your bolded is a cheap lie. OBJ was popular in the SW between towards 2003 at least. You are simply a kid. I was in secondary school in Lagos when he was president and not once or twice did he come to Lagos and receive a rousing welcome from people. I first saw him on Falomo bridge in 2001 when he was passing by and people were hailing him. You can tell me where you were in 2001. So stop regurgitating APC propaganda.
Secondly, OBJ was not more imposed on Nigeria than Tinubu. Both were voted massively by the north. That OBJ was not voted by the SW in his first term does not make him an imposition. You sound like those Obidients you guys like to malign. They will also tell you Tinubu was imposed on Nigeria in 2023 simply because he lost Lagos, Abuja, rigged Rivers and lost throughout the SE. That is someone talking from his narrow prism of experience. OBJ won in 1999. He won ALL the states in the North while his opponent was not even known in the North then. Funny enough you guys claim Obi lost because he lost the North but you somehow believe Falae won in 1999 despite losing woefully in same North. Rest

That bolded part of your post tells a lot about YOU and your infantile reasoning. I don’t waste my time with people who get their information from second-hand story-telling sources. When you post in a public forum, be very careful before bragging about anything….because you KNOW NOT who you talk to. Goodbye! cool

OBJ was never accepted yet 5 out of 6 states turned from AD to OBJ's PDP. How old were you in 2003? OBJ was massively popular in the SW in 2003. He even did radio interviews in Yoruba towards 2003 elections.
It is funny folks like you will believe Tinubu made Buhari president despite Buhari coming out to deny it
Folks like you will believe Tinubu saved this and that without any evidence but when it is said that Tinubu was saved by someone else, you suddenly turn on LOGIC and begin to rationalise and ask for evidence.
The fact is this is not the first time Atiku said this. He said same thing towards 2023 elections when Tinubu claimed he supported him for 2007 elections and it is time for Atiku to return the favour. So if you can believe Tinubu, why do you find it difficult to believe Atiku but instead start manufacturing lies in your head? Western asslicker

My friend, let me repeat this for the last time…..OBJ was NEVER popular in the South-West during his entire Presidency ….he was imposed on the entire country in 1999. Anyone with a sense of history will tell you that! undecided
Btw, since you talked about age, I can already surmise that you were not even born when OBJ was imposed on Nigeria in 1999. So, I can only feel some pity for you bcuz that’s the story they related to you during your story-telling gatherings in your villages. It's not about swearing or not. It's something Atiku has mentioned two to three times with no rebuttal from Tinubu. This present one about AC was triggered by Shettima's claim that Tinubu saved Atiku from OBJ, a claim which was widely held by most Tinubu’s supporters. Now Atiku is rebutting it. You're suddenly clear- headed enough to know that Atiku is lying but you've never accepted Atiku’s claim that he saved Tinubu from the PDP onslaught in the SW. It's that bias which I'm calling your attention to. Some of you are too neck-deep in hero worshiping that the only thing that can be acceptable to you is what makes your god look good

You were asked a simple Question….how did Atiku save Tinubu from OBJ/PDP onslaught on the South-West governors in 2003 when OBJ was NEVER accepted in any State in the South-West at that time?
Were YOU present where the Rigging machinery was being oiled and put in motion?
Yet you’re prepared to SWEAR to it bcuz some story-teller “mentioned” it a number of times and was simply IGNORED for making claims without logical reasoning!
Is it by committing an ILLEGALITY (RIGGING) that you save someone in a Democracy?
Of course, Atiku’s assertion simply had to be ignored as Nonsense, which it was.

Someone you claim was inconsequential in the politics of the South West in 2007, yet he carried the entire South West to abandon the party they had nortured for years and MERGE it with another group to form a most viable RULING party for eight years AND COUNTING…..
You shouldn’t need a story-teller like Atiku to convince you about who had the political wherewithal to move the political machinery of the South-West even back in 2006/7 because it was the turn of the North to produce a President.
Atiku can tell his stories to the Marines for all I care! Discerning individuals are in no doubt as to who helped whom!cool
