Politics / Re: Lagos Ranked 4th World’s Worst City by spartan66(m): 7:48am On Aug 30, 2013
Shine It:

Boko haram is expected to flood Lagos in future cause of Yoruba muslims who want same thing as their Northern counterpart>>>>to islamize Nigeria.
But most yoruba muslims i know are even more secular than christians such that within thesame family you find christians too! Plus, the yoruba muslims hav no problem marrying a christian. So where is all this idea of them nursing similar ambition with boko haram coming 4rm?

I think this is just a case of giving a dog a bad name simply to hang it.

Only in her dreams! She'll wake up to see that Nigerians appreciate the great good works of Pres GEJ in spite of all the politically motivated security and tribal challenges thrown in his way to frustrate his national transformation agenda.
Why r you people in the habit of attributing all your failures to other people. It wld realy do your public image some gud if you accept some of ur faults. Afterall humans in their very nature are imperfect.

You beat me to this. So so disgusting i must say. So, if it were a comoner, they can rot in their misery and no one wld bat an eyelid. I think if these white folks truely have the interest of Africans at heart, they shld realy start considering making some kinda treaty which proscribes signatory countries from granting medical treatment to politicaly exposed Africans. This is becoming embarasingly frequent.

” The suspected killer of the wild animal was
arrested on the spot at 1 :am . The animal is an
endangered species, we have them limited, if care
is not taken they may go into extinction. We don’t
want to be sanctioned by Wild lives activists,
United Nations Prohibition, among others."

Here we go again!!! LOL!!!

Nigerians try too hard to appear informed and educated, but at most every action they take, ignorance shines through!!

Who says African elephants are endangered species

Don't get me wrong sha oo. I'm a huge fan of wildlife and detest such acts with all my heart.

Politics / Re: Power Generation Drops To 2,628.6 Megawatts by spartan66(m): 12:10pm On Aug 11, 2013
Sincere 9gerian:
Power generation level will always fluctuate until we build enough power generation capacity so much so that if there's any short fall in any power plant or gas distribution line, it wouldn't affect the national grid. If Nigeria was generating like 40,000 megawatts, the loss of 2,000 megawatts or so reported on this thread wouldn't have affected the national grid. In fact, nobody would have known as the relevant engineers would have silently sought for the problem and fixed it. The president and his team will continue to do what is HUMANLY possible to ramp up generation capacity. Unfortunately, there are bad elements in the society who continue to sabotage govt's efforts. Nigerians are Nigeria's greatest enemy. People complain of lack of power but at the same time sabotage govt's efforts. These sabotage may even be the handiwork of opposition elements. The govt cannot secure every inch of the gas, crude oil, petroluem products, etc pipelines.

Anyway, as more NIPP and Independent power plants come on stream, the effect of these vandalisms will reduce to the barest minimum.

Meanwhile, has the APC done what is HUMANLY possible in their area of jurisdiction? Where is the 4th Mainland bridge the APC promised Lagosians since the year 2000? Where is the brand new Lekki international Airport promised by the APC in Lagos? How come the APC have still not completed a railway project started by Jakande in the 80's after governing Lagos for 14 solid years? Are vandals also stalling these very important projects?

From all indications, the KIDNAPPER in-charge of Lagos is only busy planting flowers, marking federal roads and collecting tolls.
Sometimes, there's more wisdom in silence as in this case.

@ em-ployer: Perhaps I was missunderstood. Though he stays logged in for as much as I indicated, he doesn't stay active for that long. But trust me, he is active for @ least 9hrs daily
, mostly in the politics section, especially when hanging out with friends. He appears completely detatched from tha table and in a world of his own. I luv this place and usualy come around to have fun especially when I'm feelin under the weather. Reading pple's post on here could realy have some kind fo therapeutic effect on oneself. But my friend's situation is realy different.

@ 190: The way you carry on tho... Trust me, the guy's anything but broke. He works with an international NGO and earns no less than 350k monthly... And it realy wouldave been more helpful if you had made a realistic sugestion.
Romance / SOS!!! Nairaland Tearing Them Appart! by spartan66(m): 7:44am On Aug 11, 2013
Got to know about this great forum in 2008 but didn't register until recently.

Got a friend whose been in this relationship with some luvly and respectful gurl for 4yrs, to whom I introduced nairaland. Before now, my friend and his gf have been great together but ever since I introduced him to this site, it's been one bitter quarrel after another!

I know the site can be quite addictive but his own situation is quite unlike any you've ever seen! I mean, this dude literally stays online for up to 20hrs in a day!!

I'm openin this thread to seek advice on his behalf because, sooner or later, he may loose his gurl thanks to nairaland and ME!!

Realy feel some sort of guilt for what's goin on between them. The other day, his gf came crying to my house and was like she went visiting, stayed on for a couple hrs and her guy couldn't keep up a convo for more than 5mins! That he says there's a constant war raggin batween Goodluck suporters and the opposition and one has to be steadfast to put those "demons" where they belong!

I don't know, perhaps someone out there has once been caught up in a similar situation. An advice from them as to how they dealt with it would be quite helpful and appreciated.

Their relationship needs urgent salvation!

Politics / Re: 'Brigadier General' Al Mustapha Should Replace Lt Gen OA Ihejirika As COAS, ASAP by spartan66(m): 7:41am On Jul 16, 2013
ndu_chucks: Justice would be fully served when Al Mustapha is fully reabsorbed into the army and given his rightful rank/position - Brigadier General/Chief Of Army Staff. Ihejirika has done enough harm to that office.

If GEJ does not have the stomach for that, Governor Al Mustapha or Senator Al Mustapha would be just fine, come 2015.

Only in Nigeria could one spill such trash!!! Smh.
Since when did presidents in a democracy choose a people's governor or senator for them

The positions are based on apointment, they are based on election.
