Seun, please why did the politics mod ban me because I said APC guys are paid? I have been observing how the politics mod is running the section. I will speak soon. The APC e-rats here accuse GEJ supporters of being paid on every thread but never get banned. So why ban me for calling them out? This is double standard and is beginning to paint a story of compromised admins. This is wrong and sends the message that this site is being biased in favour of APC

Desric: This goes a long way to show the nature and character of our President, his party the PDP, and the level of tolerance in our Democracy, and its very unfortunate how we still run our Govt like that of the Military devoid of tolerance and freewill.

I feel for Gov. Aliyu because it seems the bulk of his Assets and Investments are domicile in the Federal Capital Territory, I understand his fears, even though some of his colleagues have made drastic sacrifices and are still making. We now know the bold and courageous among them.

Like Asiwaju said, ” What has happened today is
significant. What is important is not just
the numerical strength, but the coming
together of persons of character and
commitment to change”, I pray earnestly that this coming together will yield the much needed fruit of Progress, Unity, and true Development eluding our Nation for so long.

BWahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! The coming together of persons of character! Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha! Tinubu (real names, kunle Adeleke) is a man of character and commitment to change! You have made me laughed so hard, i spilled my coffee!

Toronto and chicago certificate forger wants to change Nigeria. What a joke. Well he wants to convert Niger Delta money into his pocket. But he has already failed. If he likes, let him merge with the devil, he will fail. grin

sagombugo: That's why I will always respect any committed opposition politician as General Muhammadu Buhari,Asiwaju Tinubu,Ogbonnaya Onu,Chris Ngige or even Sani Yerima who have chosen to dare the fiery darts of the Federal might and have not waivered or staggered all these years on the other side of the divide

The PDP don't have any problem with you if you are corrupt but should you want to leave its fold, that's when they fight back! All the same I commend the 5 of the G7 who braved the odds to seek for change in our body polity

But all the people you listed are more corrupt than the PDP people and now more corrupt people from PDP have joined them. You are not serious at all! grin grin grin

A thousand feets above sea level only to come and burst into flames when it touches the ground. Why can't we get only 10 or 5 brand new planes and then manage that one than have 20 which pose as death traps for teeming nigerians wch even our relative may board any of them... Politics / Re: Apc Is The Biggest Party In Nigeria. by theoctopus1: 9:23pm On Nov 26, 2013
naptu2:

This for me is the most important point. There will be checks. However, there must be informed participation by the masses in order for the checks to be effective. That's the tricky part.

A divided assembly could hold the government accountable (which is a positive thing), or it could simply ground the government (which is negative). The people need to force the actors to act in the best interest of the people. That's the most difficult part.

The reason all this is so laughable is that it assumes that the APC senators are different from the PDP senators. This is so laughable honestly. The APC senators and reps have been part and parcel of all the corruption since 1999. They have never objected to the immoral pay of the NASS. They have gladly and coolly collected their share. Nothing is going to change. They have never and will never fight for Nigerians. The opposition states like Lagos are the most corrupt in Nigeria

I do agree with your point tho...GEJ would most likely win but will face an opposition dominated NASS, it would be good for our fledgling democracy tho

The opposition will never dominate the NASS. Most of you make one fundamental mistake. The opposition did not grow because of ideology. It grew because of the "North must return back to power" project. Once GEJ wins in 2015, these northerners will all return to the PDP enmass.
Politics / Re: Why G7 Governors Decamping Does Not Really Affect Jonathan's 2015 Chances by theoctopus1: 9:01pm On Nov 26, 2013
kokoA: you are entitled to your opinion. As a northern christian I know GEJ's popularity has nosedived a great deal. I hope you know northern christians have no issues voting a muslim candidate, they will only refuse to vote Buhari. I can assure you that any credible muslim candidate from the north will sweep more than 50% of GEJ's supporters here. So in the event that APC picks a younger northerner, GEJ can kiss his minority christian votes goodbye. Then, let's talk about the north central.. Lol.. Niger is gone to APC 100%, Kwara is gone to APC 100 %, kogi is 50-50 chance for GEJ because the larger muslim population will vote a muslim candidate and the christians here don't really care about who wins, they are very comfortable with their muslim brothers, so GEJ will likely loose Kogi. Plateau is going to GEJ no doubt, while Benue is 50-50 chance, the stronghold of PDP there is the Idoma speaking area, but should David mark decides to go against GEJ, then Benue will tilt towards APC 70-30. In conclusion, if things continue like this then GEJ is either loosing come 2015 of we are heading for a run-off.

You have no single clue bro. Boko Haram saga has ensured that the northern muslims and christians will never vote in block again. That is gone forever. Northern Christians will never vote a muslim in 2015. You seriously have no clue

Dude, Jimi Agbaje is not a PDP person. Don't you get it? The guy does not fight battles he cannot win. He has looked around and seen the work done so he chose to walk away. Even the LP where he once was can't talk of having him

and do you really think Agbaje can defeat an APC candidate? In the 2011 elections, the APC set a record of votes from a single state which no party has ever gotten before +1.5m votes.

And with the general hatred towards the PDP in Lagos, no sensible candidate will even think of it

not to mention the apathy they have towards GEJ

You certainly have no clue about Lagos. Please go and find out what happened in the last LGA elections. If it was free and fair, the APC would have lost more than 50% of the LGAs. You have no clue what is coming in 2015. The only thing that will make PDP loose 2015 in Lagos is if they bring out a bad candidate. Lagos is there for the taking. The people are angry. Lagos is not bourdilon! If you think the Market women, the okada and keke peeps, the artisans that kai is messing up will vote Fashola again, then you need a brain check! Fashola is loathed in Lagos as an elitist gov. 2015 will shock you guys. The good thing is that you guys will not be able to rig again because there is a plan on the ground to checkmate that. You can take that to the bank

Nigerians will remember that this is the not the first time contract for that road will be awarded and it has turned to an avenue for the federal ministry of works to steal money while no work has been done on the road.

They claim the contractors collect money and leave yet no arrest or trial.

This is another attempt to steal money. I dey siddon look mode

The contract for that road has never been awarded. Stop spewing lies. The road was formerly concessioned to Babalakin who did nothing for 2 years and the concession was revoked. The same Babalakin that is trying to hound Stella Oduah!

Stella Odua is under probe for inflated purchase of amoured vehicles.

There's a difference in their cause.

Stella is under probe for messing up the aviation mafia. She has been under threat for a long time now. Did you not read ffk's write ups? She is not guilty of anything but her transformation of the aviation sector. She did not inflate anything. She did not embezzle any money. The same people that want her out now want to snuff her out because the blackmail ploy has failed. They will surely fail

Politics / APC Apologies To Bafarawa Over Visit To Gov Wamakko by theoctopus1: 10:42pm On Nov 25, 2013
The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have apologised to former Gov. Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto State for failing to intimate him of their recent visit to incumbent Gov. Aliyu Wamakko.

A seven-man delegation, led by former Gov. John Oyegun of Edo and Gov. AbdulAziz Yari of Zamfara, visited Sokoto on Sunday to apologise to Bafarawa as well as APC leaders and members in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the APC national leadership had on Oct. 29 attended the inauguration of the Sokoto State University, Sokoto, without intimating Bafarawa.

Similarly, the party leaders, led by Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Chief Bisi Akande and Chief Bola Tinubu, had on Nov. 6 visited the state, to woo Wamakko to defect to APC, without informing Bafarawa and APC members in the state.

“The National leadership of the party understands the disaffection caused by their mistakes.

“Our visit here today is to make peace and offer our regrets that what happened was a mistake of the head, not the body,’’ Oyegun said.

The ex-governor said that the national leadership of the party appreciated the crucial role which Bafarawa played in the formation of APC.

Oyegun also urged the party members in the state to be “gallant and receptive”.

Also speaking, Yari pledged that such mistakes would not be allowed to recur.

“Everybody is welcome into APC and the party needs more members to fight the battle ahead in 2015, successfully,’’ he, however, said.

Responding, Bafarawa said: “We have accepted the apology of the national leadership of the party.

“We have to behave like democrats and nothing is impossible in politics,” he added.

He, however, said that the APC members in the state should be allowed to “solve our local problems locally’’.

Bafarawa stressed that the APC in the state was not stopping anybody from joining the party.

“Doing otherwise is unconstitutional and Gov. Wamakko is welcome. There is nothing that is impossible.

“However, nobody should externally interfere with our local problems and the rules of the game must be followed duly,” he added.

Politics / Imo State Banned From Borrowing More Loans. by theoctopus1: 8:38pm On Nov 25, 2013
**external debt hits over N100billion in just few months.

The Imo state government have been declared unfit to borrow more more money by the Nigerian Apex bank, the CBN.
Few months ago, the Debt Management agencies frown at the rising debt profile of Governor Rochas Okorocha's government and the apparent less ability to of the state to pay back these loans in the next 25 years. PEAK of borrowing for the state.

CBN stated that Imo state is owing over 100 billion Naira and that is the reason Apex bank placed them on the "No Borrowing list', meaning that they will no longer borrow from any bank in Nigeria and no approval will be given to them for external loans. - Hope For Nigeria.

take dat:

Are you expecting the Supreme Court to 'review' its judgment? It was the Supreme Court who ruled that it was the PDP that contested and won the guber election of 2007. Swearing-in Amaechi in October 2007 still does not change the fact that the actual swearing-in day was May29, after all, Omehia who governed from May 29 till October was PDP.

Secondly, the Supreme Court bench will not want to inflame the polity and bring themselves into odium, considering the tense political atmosphere. Judgment based on Political expediency. Any judgment against Amaechi will be seen as the hands of Esau and voice of Jacob. The Presidency also won't go unscathed!

"Interestingly, for legal scholars, the Supreme Court ruling on the matter in October would be nothing other than an academic exercise, just like it did in the case of Ekiti State governorship crisis between Kayode Fayemi and Segun Oni. But for what they described as technical mischief which is being latched on to by opposition to Amaechi, the case, legal scholars contended is as comprehensible for the layman as it is for the legal luminaries and that as such, no amount of anxiety or antics built up to the October 3 ruling would change the legal literature that naturally would determine the court ruling."http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/amaechi-vs-omehia-waiting-for-the-supreme-court/150817/

You are really serious about what you typed? You think the supreme court will give a judgement because of what they think you will complain about on NL? You are really deluded! grin

The article you posted is the opinion of a lawyer. There is no where "legal scholars" met to decide what their opinion is and even if they meet, it will have no bearing on the decision of the supreme court judgement. Legal scholars ko, baby lawyers ni! grin

Are Wike, Dame and Mbu the aggresors? Who started fighting others around him? Does it not speak volumes that Wike, Dame, Omeiha, Odili, All the Rivers traditional rulers, House of assembly members, local government chairmen, etc, etc are all against Amaechi? Why is it that it is only the APC crew and the rebel G7 govs, who are obviously playing the "anything to spite GEJ" card that support Amaechi?

Amaechi is the one fighting with his own people. The whole blame of this saga is on him. The people of Rivers will never come to his defence, because he is on his own
