louken: I just finished installing wires in my house (conduit) but yet to install d fittings like sockets and lighting. I paid d electrician for labour (45,000) while I bought all d materials. Materials cost me around 150k (I went for cutix cables). I hope u find these helpful. Regards. Dear Muyesky, I am a follower of your tread on Nairaland, and I have benefitted alot from the various advices and recommendations you have offered on this platform. I am about to embark on the tiling and electrical wiring my building after having just completed the platering and ceiling My main problem now is the cost of the quotation I was given for the electrical wiring of the house which is 600K for wiring, basic light fittings and one concrete pole plus servicing of the building which I think it's a bit on the high side. Could you please give me your opinion on this issue, the building is comprised of (A) one two bed, one small sitting, one small kitchen and toiltet/bathroom (B) one three bed, one sitting/dinning, one small kitchen and two toilet/bathroom making it a two flat building. The site location is at Oke-Ata, via Ita-Oshin in Abeokuta. I would not mind a second opinion / quotation if he is willing to work in Abeokuta. While defending his quotation, my bricklayer cited the issue of fixing of doors, aluminum window frames & burglary proof for the reason of arriving at that price. I am undergoing a similar project of two flats building (One two & One three bedroom) and my bricklayer is charging 270k for the plastering of the two flats both in & out of which I think is on the high side. HI Femmy Could you please enlighten Nairalanders about this issue of not being able export or send cars to Naija by Nigerians living abroad because of the recent implementation of NCS which took effect from 31 March 2013 regarding Federal Inland Revenue Service Individual T.I.N. Number. I have heard that the NCS are refusing to allow clearance of goods & vehicles sent to Nigeria by those living abroad simply because the have no TIN Number. What is the present situation and solution regarding this matter? Kindly shed more light about what is going on regarding this matter in the ports. Muyesky: Once again thanks for your wonderful enlightenment, I have since copied your burglary proof but my welder is insisting that the material used and produced for N4,500.00 is 3/4 inch square pipe and not 1 inch pipe. He is claiming that the cost of the burglary proof made with 1 inch square pipe could only be produced at N5,000.00. Please kindly confirm the size of the square pipe so that I will know that he is not trying to rip me off. Best Regards |

Thanks alot for sharing your experience and progress of your buitiful house. I am also constructing a two flats of one three & one two bedrooms at Abeokuta and I have just got to the roofing stage which I am yet to embark upon. However, I plan to use Asbestos Roofing Sheets due to some constraints and go for the Amoula PVC Ceiling Strips. Could you please confirm if you sourced the PVC Ceiling Installer yourself or was he recommended by Amoula. And secondly, could you please let me know how much you paid for the 4ft Entrance Door and how much a complete Aluminium window is costing for one standard room window, also what type of doors are you intending to use internally and what is the cost per one complete door with frame. Thanking you for your anticipated response, and please pardon me if I have asked so many questions at one time as I dont reside in Naija and I am thinking of comming home in June to choose and decide what internal fixtures that would be used and do whatever I can before returning to my base in the UK. Regarding your doors, are they complete with frames? and if so, what are the prices. Secondly, I would rather suggest you let us know the various prices for the doors and if I am interested in your quoted price I may then decide to give you a call for more info.
