well all analysis are correct. But the truth of the matter Nigeria political system doesn't work all these wonderful analysis, rather we still practice Godfatherism politics like with the recent move by GEJ to have all the heavy weights guy both from south and north around him has cancel every move by opposition.
Again we don't have strong opposition party at the moment. PDP are busy going round the country campaigning why the so called opposition are busy criticising them. The mistake we always make here on nl is that we always view politics from regional/tribal  point of view, which is wrong, politics all over the world is game of interest not region, tribe, race or colour. PDP understand this fact much that's why they have forgot their difference and this will give GEJ a clear cut winning across all regions.

I want state it categorically clear here that politically Buhari & Bakare plus Ribado put together CAN NOT WIN PDP. Reasons absolutely all the big wing politician from north, east, west and south in Nigeria are looters and corrupt including most you here on nl.
If by commission or omission they win i give them three months PDP senators and reps. will push them out of office. Don't forget that PDP understand the fact that they don't  have strong opposition in Nigerian polity and they have put in place strong structure in place. They have capture almost if not all local chiefs, most pastors, imams, Obas, etc these are the ppl who controls the ppl under them.
No matter what combination other parties put together PDP will bury their difference and fight this battle. Look at how they strategically confuse other parties with zoning principle and they all choose their candidates from the north. hey b4 u start calling me PDP fans am not but this is fact, if u don't believe it let wait for April 2011.

Some of us here on nl are really getting this things wrong

start profering solutions the better our rulers will start
thinking to lead. Critics cant take us anywhere.

I think its possible but i hope he is not being manipulated by born-to-rule politicians because of his recent fight for democracy in Nigeria.
