Religion / Paul Adefarasin - Why The Experience Is A Free Concert by wikido: 4:06pm On Dec 18, 2018
The founder and senior pastor of the House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, stated in his Press Conference last week that the Experience concert was birthed to show his love for God and fulfil his yearnings of seeing that lives get transformed with individuals set on the path of righteousness.

He said this in reaction to why offerings and gate fees were not collected at the concert. According to him, God will provide for the propagation of the gospel and people should not see Pastors as beggars.

“There are people who tag the church as money grabbers. We know money is important to preach the gospel and win souls, but we respect that God supplies and He does that in a way that the Church has not to be a beggar,” he said.

He further stated that the concert is a significant contributor to the national and state economies through tourism, human capital development, hospitality and commerce.

The Experience is a significant contributor to both our National and State economies through tourism and its associated businesses. Entrepreneurs have developed and birthed various enterprises which substantially contribute to the economy in areas of human capital development, hospitality, commerce and industry.

Religion / Jesus Is More Than Enough By Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 6:03pm On Nov 26, 2018
“Jesus is More Than Enough by Paul Adefarasin” is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin in his “Something is about to happen” series. The text is taken from Hebrews 12: 14-29, Galatians 5: 3-4.

“And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.”

The children of Israel complained and murmured throughout their journey from Egypt to Sinai. But God kept blessing them over and over again because God was not dealing with them according to their performance, obedience or disobedience but according to his nature and promises. It was a period and season of grace until the children of Israel took pride in themselves and said to God that they will do everything he asked of them. We can’t accomplish or do anything that God says in our own strength or the ability of our own persons because everything that God wills for us to do he supplies the strength.

Depend On Grace

Everybody has at some point in time fell from grace. The moment you stop depending on grace you start becoming attracted to sin. But when you stop depending on self-effort and on performance, you become attracted to godliness and holiness. God makes a difference between you and others, then truth becomes attractive to you.

The Law Cannot Produce Transformation

Without laws, there is no sin. If there are no laws given then there's no strength given to sin. The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. The law is holy and the commandment is righteous, it doesn’t have the power to make you holy but it is like a mirror, it shows you your weakness. The law is impotent to produce transformation in a person’s life.

Spirit-led believers

The law was weak, hence, God sent Jesus in his likeness to condemn sin. We rejoice in Christ Jesus and we put no confidence in the flesh, in other words, we don't depend on self-effort or performance to earn or gain anything from God. The real believers are the ones the Spirit of God leads. Satan never tempts man beyond the law, he never tempted Adam and Eve beyond the law, which was “Don't touch the fruit that is forbidden, don't eat the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
it, if you do, you will surely die.”

Religion / How To Win The Fight For Joy By Pastor Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 5:08pm On Nov 16, 2018
“How to win the fight for joy” is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin in his “Something is about to happen” series.

Joy is Spontaneous

The fight for joy is not a fight for joy in general but it is a fight for joy in God. It is a pursuit of happiness in God and in God alone, and that's what makes the things that he gives us truly enjoyable without them becoming objects of idolatry. So, when we fight for joy, our fight for joy is not joy in general, it's joy in him. We must fight for joy in God even though joy is both spontaneous and a gift. That means, regardless of what you are going through in your life and the negative impact that may have on your emotions.

We are Justified by Christ

We do not fight for joy in order to be justified before God but instead, we fight as persons justified by Christ already in the finished work. So we're fighting the sin of failing to enjoy God even though that sin of failing to enjoy God has already been punished on the cross of Calvary and we already have the victory accredited to us by the appropriations of the finished work.

Focused on God’s Glory

The fight for joy is mainly a fight to see the glory of God.
Everything God does, he does for himself because he understands that we are most supremely satisfied when we are focused on his glory. If God withheld his glory, he will be robbing us of our joy and our delight in him. And it will be impossible to find joy anywhere else.

Meditation in the Word

When we see the glory, how do we fight for joy in God so we keep seeing the glory so as to continuously have joy in God? The first is to meditate on the Word of God and night. You must have a means of taking hold of Scripture, understanding it and meditating in it till you get revelation and you begin to see God in the light that the Scriptures display. Feasting on the Word of God early in the morning is much better than breakfast, it will make you strong, happy and mightier. It will open up light to your paths and lamp to your feet. Many Christians are working in darkness because they don't see their way, they don’t see it because they don’t see who God is.

We live out of God’s Mouth

In Psalm 1 verse 2 to 3, the blessed man’s delight and joy are in the word. Which is also the law of God and of faith. And he meditates in that word, day and night. A Christian cannot win the fight for joy if she doesn't understand meditation and its constancy. We are called to live out of God's mouth. We must have ongoing continuity in conversation with God. When you are not joyful, your mind doesn't work. The suggestions of the enemy throw you into panic and you go into mistakes. But when you have joy, your hope is intact and because it's attacked there's a wholeness about you that allows you to see things from a point of victory and make decisions and choices from a victorious platform. Religion / The Root Of All Evil By Pastor Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 9:23am On Nov 12, 2018
“The Root of All Evil” is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin in his “Something is about to happen” series.

The main scripture is from Jeremiah 2:11 “Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.”

God is above all

Until you see and hate the root of evil, you will consequently diminish the glory and majesty of God. The root of all evil is to lose the saviour of the taste of God. It is to desire or want anything more than you desire God. God wants you to have the good stuff that you desire, but the enemy is selling you the bad stuff and telling you that it is good.

God is our one desire

Evil is not a pitchfork and a red-headed demon with two horns, evil is to desire something else above your desire for God. Eve was deceived in the garden of Eden, and she began to crave the fruit in the garden over God. The root of all evil might be the fruit, but the root is that Adam and Eve desired the fruit more than they desired God.

The problem was in the desire because they perceived it to be delicious and delightful and therefore they wanted it. God wants to be our one desire. King David said in his psalms, that one thing has he desired, to seek him daily in his temple and to know his glory. When we delight ourselves in God, he will give us the desire of our heart, and he will also provide us what to desire. All of a sudden, because you delight yourself continuously in him, he will start placing the desire for everything he has already prepared for you in your heart.

Spiritual senses are important

Our chief desire is meant to be God and God alone above all else. And you must allow him to regulate what you desire. It is a challenge today to not desire anything else more than you desire God because you are in a world that is is a bombardment of your five physical senses. You must have a spiritual sense to recognise that in the physical and in the spiritual, God has blessings and interventions that affect all ramifications of your life and without him you are nothing.

Desire will fix it all

If we reduce godliness to deeds as opposed to desire or if we pay tithe, serve in a department, keep the Ten Commandments, does it translate to us fulfilling godliness? The answer is no because deeds of righteousness justify no man. What God is looking for is the desire of your heart. Like it is with marriage, the wife desires her husband, and she wants him to wish her back, so it is with the matrimony between Christ and the church God. God doesn't want anything else from you other than desire. God wants you to have a taste for him. He can’t be compared with all these other things.

The desire for the glory of God

People who sustainably invoke the blessing of God not only into their lives but through their lives to others are people who have a sustainable desire for the glory of God. Romans 3 verse 23, Paul tells us all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, what this means here is that we have all come short of cherishing above all else the glory of God's presence. Romans 1:21-23 says “When they knew God they glorified him not as God neither were they thankful but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools and now they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, four-footed beasts and creeping things.

Will you turn your focus and your desire to what God has given you or to the God who gives it to you? Will you worship the creature or will you continue to worship the creator? Watch the full sermon by Pastor Paul Adefarasin on the root of all evil.

Religion / Fear Mongers By Pastor Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 3:06pm On Nov 05, 2018
“Fear Mongers” is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin in his “Something is about to happen” series.

The main scriptures are from Acts 8:5-20; John 4:34-38

Essence of Man

A fear monger is somebody who causes fear and peddles it. The only real thirst quencher to the human spirit is the presence of God. The essence of man is not physical, the essence of man is spiritual. Man is a spirit he's not a body; he is a spirit that has a soul and lives in the body. And the only thing that will really satisfy him is anything that has the presence of God in it. The thing you're looking to quench your thirst in your soul will only be quenched by an encounter with God because without worship you can never bring through the manifestation of God's presence and acutely become aware of him or his disposition towards you.

God’s Word is Eternal

When God looks at you, he doesn't just see you where you are. He sees your past and the reality of your future. When God looks at your now, he sees the pain of your brokenness and difficulty. He's empathetic towards your circumstances, but he also sees into what caused you to become what you are or where you are right now, and so he can deal with the root.

God can look into your future and see how destiny has worked together with the circumstances of your life to produce a brilliant future that he has planned and thought concerning you. God’s word is as eternal as he is. His word can come into your present and heal you but also go back into your yesterday and deliver you from the pain. And then go all the way into your future and secure your destiny so that no matter what happens, God will find a way to take you into your tomorrow.

We must be a Doer

Jesus was much more than a rhetorical speaker; he was a massive doer. It's not so much about what you say, because what you say only gains importance when it's in line with your actions, character, lifestyle and the things you do in the community. As Christians, it's our business to go and look for dead aspects of our society and bring them back to life. Otherwise, in this cultural age of disbelief, the church will not be believed because of what we say, but because of what we do. Before we speak, we must earn the legitimacy to speak by first doing.

Reaping the Harvest

There’s a fear monger in every harvest. When you're about to step into your harvest, there's a fear monger standing there, flopping in the wind saying you can't have this harvest. But Jesus in John 4:38 said: “I sent you to reap that for which you have not laboured; others have laboured, and you have entered into their labours.” The Job of the fear mongers is to scare you away from your harvest. The fear monger causes panic, trouble and difficulty, and is very tactical and strategic about it. If God sends you anywhere to reap a harvest, then there is nothing the enemy can do to hurt you.

Religion / “faith In A Culture Of Unbelief” By Pastor Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 11:47am On Oct 25, 2018
Faith in a Culture of Unbelief” is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin in his “Something is about to happen” series.

The main scriptures are from John 11:11-15, 12:1-2, 9-15

"These things He said, and after that, He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up. Then His disciples said, “Lord if he sleeps he will get well.” However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep. Then Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless, let us go to him.”

Jesus in his own days preached in a culture of unbelief. He preached under a crowd of allegations, accusations and defiances. The people didn't care about who he was and were not willing to listen to him. How do you preach faith in a culture of unbelief?

Preaching alone will not work

This day, people do not believe what you say, they believe what you do. Jesus was called different names while on earth but he still made an impactful difference and this was because his message was more in his actions and doings than in his talking.

Support your talk

Jesus was not just an orator or speaker. He was a doer and an impactor. Luke confirmed this in the book of Acts in his letter to Theophilus. He wrote in Acts chapter one verse one: "Theophilus the former treatise that I have written to you of all the things with Jesus both began to do and to teach" meaning in his time and in our age of unbelief as well, talk is cheap. It's so cheap anybody can talk. If your talk is not backed and supported by evidence, then it is not going anywhere.

Delays are not necessarily denials

God will sometimes withhold good from you because he intends to give you the best. There are things that you do that will lend credibility where there was formerly incredibility. Jesus wasn't going to give Lazarus a healing, he wanted to give him much more than a healing. Jesus wanted to give him success and significance.

Good works

One of the reasons why we don't believe God the way we ought to is because we are bombarded by a counterculture. So believing is hard and the church in this day is going to have to begin to manifest the power of God and the wisdom of God in what she does to bring things back to life. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, he did that because he reasoned that he doesn't need to really preach to the people of Israel but he was going to let his work preach. The people he wants to reach were not going to listen to him but when they see irrefutable works they have to bow.

Religion / Watch What Paul Adefarasin’s Son, Alexander Has To Say About The Girl Child by wikido: 8:41am On Oct 15, 2018
Alexander Adefarasin, one of Pastor Paul and Ifeanyi Adefarasin’s sons, recently gave a talk in school on the role of the importance of enlightening the girl child. Thursday, October 11th was the International Day of the Girl, an international observance day declared by the United Nations, which is usually celebrated by most countries of the world.

According to Alexander, “women around the world, especially the 3rd world countries, are perceived to be the lesser gender next to us men, but that is not the case. Instead, they should be perceived as equal to us, and we should not overlook the importance of girls because these girls mature into women who are the mothers and wives of our future generation. And the way people believe that women should be confined to the perimeters of the home, we might be forgetting that the home is the bedrock of society.

There should be the formal education of a child 24/7, 365 days a year. Women, in other words, are great teachers, they sacrifice so much for their children, and they need to have proper requisite to support their husbands, and this comes with education starting from right now. And without the exposure to knowledge, we won’t be able to prep children with the vital skills needed to go through life...”

In a culture and society that is mostly gender-biased, it is incredible to know that Paul Adefarasin and his wife are raising their kids not just the godly way but also as civil and responsible children. As we focus on building our girl child to be responsible in society, it is essential that we train the male child to know his roles too. They will both grow into adults to live in community together, so we must educate the young boys to be supportive and encouraging gender equality. Men and women are equal.

Like the Bible puts it, “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” The future we want our children to live in starts now, by teaching and instructing them on the proper things to do. A great future awaits our children if we raise them correctly. I encourage us all to aspire to emulate Pastor Paul Adefarasin and his beautiful wife, Ifeanyi Adefarasin, let’s train our children the proper way.

The root is always different from the fruit and there can be no fruit unless there is a root. The fruit springs from the root and until you understand what the root of all evil is, you will diminish the glory of God in your understanding in life. The root of all evil is to lose your appetite and passion for God. It is to desire something more than you desire God. When God is no longer the passion of your life, it means other things have taken his place and has buried your desire for him. The root of all evil is to prefer anything else above God.

Your Desire for God

To be lost from God is the greatest punishment any man can have. Devil's intention at the garden of Eden was to rob the man and woman of their passion for God. The moment Eve started to doubt that God was true and gracious, she began to believe that God has all this exciting stuff but he's trying to withhold it from her. So she deems him wicked, untruthful and a liar. And she began to look for something else that will delight her. Cars, houses, money, a good spouse, great children, honour, fulfilment are all good things and they are given by God but the moment you desire them more than God, you have lost your desire for God. Eve switched from desiring God to listening to the enemy and desiring the things that are not for her to enjoy.

Finding Happiness

At the garden of Eden, eating the forbidden fruit is not the root of all evil. The root of all evil is that Adam and Eve desired the fruit, that was forbidden more than they desired God. Anything you desire, you will believe and are likely to trust and repose a lot of confidence in. You are designed to be most fulfilled only in the glory of God. You cannot find happiness in anything else, you'd only find it in the glory of God. Behind the scenes, many are broken and hurting, looking for another fix that will give them a glory that only God's personal attendants to their life can ever give.

Your Desire

When Jesus said all have sinned and come short of the glory of God what he's saying to us is that we have fallen short of treasuring God's glory above material things. If you treasure anything above God, you have fallen short of the glory. Sooner than later, you will feel naked and empty. But if you get the glory, everything in you will work brilliantly well to produce more desire for God and God will produce more glory in your life. In Romans Chapter one, the root of all evil is falling short of desiring the glory of God.

God’s Greatness

God gets you to do good things by causing you to fall deeply in love with him and then good things will come naturally to you. The greatness of God's glory is never magnified by the keeping of commandments. You cannot reduce God's glory to deeds of righteousness. It is the passion for the glory that produces the deeds of righteousness but deeds themselves without a passion for God can never magnify God's glory. That means you can keep commandments and still love things more than you love God.

Religion / Passion, Plight & Pleasure In Your Pursuit Of God By Pastor Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 9:57am On Sep 25, 2018
“Passion, Plight & Pleasure in Your Pursuit of God” is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin in his “Something is about to happen” series.

The main text of this sermon is from Job 42:7. “And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath”

Your heart is where your treasure is

To enjoy God, we need to be saved. When we approach God and are saved, we can come and be one with him. "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring us to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit." 1Peter 3:18. When Jesus died on the cross, it was not just to forgive us from sins or to remove wrath but to also reconcile us to God. Reconciling here means bringing the man to God. Jesus stepped out of eternity into time, he took the form of a servant and came to earth to suffer and die for our sins so we can take his place at the Father's right hand. Jesus fought all the battles on our behalf and brought us to God so that we can be hidden in Christ and in God. On our own, we can't defeat sin, Christ already defeated sin and the only way to walk in that victory is to come to God and stay there.

God sees no sin in us

If you're a believer, you believe the Christ, you understand repentance from dead works and faith toward God through the finished work of calvary you'll understand that sin is out of the way and God sees no sin in us. Whatever Christ gets, we get. Jesus is the heir, and we are the joint heirs. Which means we have power over sickness and diseases. We hate iniquity and love righteousness. Stop struggling to be righteous, stop struggling to be what you already are. You are the righteousness of God in Christ, which is made possible by Christ's finished work. God made Christ, who knew no sin become sin so that you might be the righteousness of God in Christ, this is the whole purpose of faith in Christ; to bring us to God.

We know the love of a person by their loving actions

Things are not God, nor are the things God gives, the focal point of our joy. They just point to God. You could never be joyful in God if there were no constellation of His goodness and good things. "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him." - 1John 4:9. We know the fullness and the faithfulness of a person because he keeps his promises. As it is with his actions, so also the things and experiences he gives us, show us who he is. God's creation is designed as a foretaste of what it's like to enjoy God himself. The things he creates are for our enjoyment; our focus shouldn't be on them but on God, if not, we are idolaters.

It is your highest duty to delight in God

Jesus announced the first commandment in the New Testament in Matthew 22: 37 and 38 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. The essence of love is not doing, the essence is delighting, where God is the object and focus of your delight. Loving God is not first working for God, we are to love God with all of our heart, soul and mind. So it means we should prefer him above everything. The authentic love for people can only be the overflow of enjoying God's
supreme love above all. If you don't enjoy God above all, you'll have no love to give, its just human affection.

Religion / To Make The Right Impact, You Have To Invest Your Energy - Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 12:37pm On Sep 21, 2018
“Make Impact” is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin in his “Something is about to happen” series.

“Salt is good: but if the salt has lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.”

We are salts

The next half of your life must be the best half of your life. It is not worthwhile if you’re investing so much energy, yet not making much impact. In Mark 9;50, Jesus teaches that the body of believers are the salt of the earth and he informs us that a little bit of salt will have such great and powerful effect. The salt is powerful in that it has preservation and powers. It has the ability to change things. In calling us salt, it means that we are keeping something from deteriorating.

We are designed to make an impact

Are you impactful or just energetic? At times, we get tired when we do so much, and we don’t get enough result. It's about organisation. If we are not organised, we waste our lives. If we’re going to be effective, we have to learn the measuring systems that God has provided for measuring impact otherwise we’ll end up depressed at some stage in life. When you don't do what you are designed for, it's called suppression. You're suppressing who you are. You're depressing who you are; you are designed to be fruitful, impactful and productive.

Saying “no”

One of the things about the most influential people on earth is the power to say no. When we become committed to everything, it is usually at the expense of our primary purpose and the primary calling upon our lives. We have to learn to feel better and more obedient to God. Stop being a messiah, because everytime you say “yes” to everything and everyone, you are sapping your energy, depleting your strength, defusing your focus and killing your ability to be laser sharp and powerful. Teach people to respect your specialisation.

Invest your energy

You have to learn where you invest your time, energy and how to determine your investment by the impact you desire to make, so you invest based on the endgame which is the impact that you intend to create. We must learn to invest energy into areas where we are most impactful. When you invest energy in the wrong areas, you do so to the detriment of the areas where you could be effective, fruitful, most productive and most impactful. So you need to stop investing your energy in things that don't do good. Do what you do well, do what gives you impact that when you do it, it changes people, the atmosphere and the status quo. Impact has everything to do with perspectives. The internet as a technology has given us the opportunity for impact. Don’t waste and misuse it.

Religion / Paul Adefarasin’s Heartfelt Message To His Beautiful Wife, Ifeanyi by wikido: 1:53pm On Sep 17, 2018

Ifeanyi Adefarasin, the wife of Paul Adefarasin, the senior pastor of House On The Rock church, marked her birthday over the weekend. She was celebrated on Sunday during the church service at the Rock Cathedral in Lekki, Lagos. She has since received a lot of love and well wishes from worshippers and the general public.

The highlight of the day was the lovely write-up from her husband; he described her birthday as #WorldIfeanyiDay. How sweet. His post is heart-melting, you should read it for yourself below:

A Missive To My Wife, Ifeanyi On Her Birthday:

In Grace, I will never tire of celebrating this day; the day God gifted the world with you, or as I like to think of it - #WorldIfeanyiDay!

Words & time would invariably fail me if I tried to count the various ways you delight me with the many facets of who you are in Him - your mastery of the art of being my Grace given helpmeet; your modelling of maternity to our daughter; your mentoring of women and young ladies in the fold; equipping them to be the next generation of God’s Girls and Leading Ladies; your passionate pursuit of His purpose ... I enjoy basking in the beauty of who you are and resting in the sanctuary of your kind spirit.

Thank you for being authentically, unapologetically you. You are the pride and joy of Jesus our Christ. I am convinced that when God wants to brag, He points to you ... as I like to do too.
You, my love, have evolved into a more gracious, loving, adept, beautiful version of who you were when we first met in ‘94 and I am delighted to have been your partner in the journey of life so far. I look forward to growing old together with you.

This is not the first time Pastor Paul Adefarasin is showing much love for his wife. According to Pastor Paul, they met “24 years ago, and we’re still dating 24 years later; we’ve been married for 22 of those years. She’s my still waters and my green pasture; I lay me down in the calm of her embrace. Her love is wind into my sails, and her voice is quietening to my storm. The glint in her eyes reminds me that God loves me endlessly."

"Ifeanyi is my Ijebu Princess and my Asaba Queen; I have watched her bloom and blossom like daffodils in the spring; I’ve watched her grow wiser with every new year; I’ve watched her grow stronger with every storm — she is my virtuous woman and leading lady. I’ve watched her pursue her passion; strive for and attain excellence in everything she does. It is no wonder that our churches celebrate her; men and women are blessed by her, and many seek to emulate her as she lives as an example of a Godly woman.”

There are really no disadvantages

When you are a child of grace, there are no disadvantages according to the promise because Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for the good of them according to His purpose. So your perceived disadvantages are really advantages because of who you are in Christ.

When a disadvantage happens in your life, God ultimately is going to take it and make it work for your good; he foreknew it, he knew it was going to come before it came, he had already incorporated it into your process and his plan to make you into everything he wants you to be.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOEdpyNBC3s

Most of the Great people we read about in Scripture were born into disadvantages or came into disadvantage before they found their place in God. Had I not, then, went down into the deep dungeon of addiction and failure and degradation, I may never have seen that God was my Help. Had I always been a good boy that got it all right with goody-two-shoes I may never have recognized my deep need for God.
All things can work together for our good

God can take your disadvantage and make it work to his advantage and yours so that when you look back, it'll make it seem like as if it was God who made you do wrong. God is never the author of sin or wrongdoing or anything negative
; he knows how to use it, and he's committed to using everything negative for your benefit.

That’s why Romans 8:31- What shall we then say to these things, if God is for us who can be against us - that means if God is on your side nothing is against you even though it looks or feels like it's against you, ultimately, it's working together for your good.

The Story of Jabez

Jabez was named “Jabez” based on his mother’s opinion of him and the circumstances surrounding the birth. She's gone through a hard and a difficult season of grief and sorrow, and she made a permanent decision over a temporary situation. Whatever you are going through now may be difficult or painful, but this too shall pass. Don’t let it define how you see the rest of your life. Don’t allow it to name your future or circumstances.

Don’t be like Jabez’s mother. Just because something terrible happened to you yesterday doesn't define who you would be tomorrow. Eventually, Jabez became a doctor of the law and a prolific teacher of the law. He raised many disciples and together they came, and they built a town just because they wanted to be near him, and it is from that group of people that the Chronicles wrote and rewrote the Bible

So he started out in terrible circumstances, very disadvantaged but ended up honourable. Jabez was given honour. Where you start is not the determining factor of where you will end. The determining factor of where you will end is that you do believe that God has a purpose and a plan for your life beyond where you are right now.

Jabez did not depend on his family nor did he depend on his great talent or his great ability or the promise of his people. Jabez looked to the blessing of God's grace and called upon the God of covenant in spite of his disadvantage. God turned around his disadvantaged circumstance and made him an honourable man. The Bible declares to us in Proverbs 19 verse 21 that there are many plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purposes that stand.

Religion / Pastor Paul Adefarasin Preaches 'before You Take The Lead' by wikido: 2:52pm On Sep 10, 2018
“Before you take the lead” in the “Something is about to happen” series. Preached by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin.

It is essential to stay focused on your vision while also meeting your needs, without being distracted. Learn from some of the key highlights in this sermon.

Leadership always begins in the background

Leadership starts in the backside of nowhere. When you look at the life of David, his journey to the palace and to leading Israel into all of her potential begun in the backside of his father's house, in the backwoods of nowhere. Joseph’s journey to leadership started in the backside of a pit far flung from the courts of Egypt's Palace. Gideon’s story began in the threshing winepress in the midst of a rampaging group of herdsmen and warriors from the Midianites who came to disrupt the nation of Israel. It's challenging then to become an inspirator if you haven't come from the background.

You need vision to lead

Without vision, we grope through life like a blind man. We’ll become easy victims to fear, and fear inhibits us from our possibilities. Without vision, we lose our focus and the compounding effect of our energy focused on to what we were purposed to be and do. There is no real leadership where there is no vision, and you cannot lead unless you have a roadmap and a destination that you see clearly.

Without vision, you won't know the why behind the what that you do every day and you won't see yourself nor perceive yourself correctly nor will you perceive your mission in life in the correct way, and as a result, you cheat yourself out of your possibilities. Vision is a powerful thing when you can see where you're headed to, where God wants to take you to, and precisely what you need to do next.

Great leadership cannot be separated from great vision

The world's biggest churches are not pastored by the best preachers; they are pastored by the best leaders or led by the greatest leadership teams because great preaching does not equate to great leadership. If you have a singular vision and you are focused on your that vision, your whole body will be protected, and it will get to its destination. It will reach its desired end, and it will become what you need it to be.

Jesus Christ had concentric circles in his life, and this is important because your grace as a visionary leader has everything to do with the circles in which you move. When you walk in the wrong circles, you might not go very far but change your circles, and you might get to where God needs you to go.

One singular vision defines your vision

Vision is about your circles. Your vision is about who you run with and who is advising you. A man who is surrounded by people who have an infrastructure of wisdom is a successful man. They could not stop Jesus Christ vision because of his circles. You can stop a gladiator, but you can't stop a man with a system. A man or woman with the right system is unstoppable. Your circles reveal your vision, what you spend your time talking with will show your vision.

Religion / Why God Is Interested In Us By Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 12:46pm On Sep 10, 2018
“Behave Yourself ” in the “Something is about to happen” series. Preached by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin.

God created us, and he is very much interested in what we do and who we become. He wants us to have dominion and be fruitful, he wants us to be our true self in Christ, prioritize his word and for us to know who we are in Christ.

God wants you to have dominion

The very first time God mentioned Man was in Genesis 1:26. Before then, he was creating a world for man where he wants him to operate just like him as he does in heaven. So he gave man one imperative that results in three other imperatives which led to the stature of operational dominion. God will never ask you to be or do anything that he hasn't already given you the ability to do or be. But if you are not consciously aware of what he has given you, and who he has made you, you will disbelieve his charges and mandate upon your life, and you leave it to somebody else.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0TZZCLGVvo

God wants you to be your true self in Christ

The more you know yourself correctly, the more you will become your true self in Christ. You should be busy finding out who you are. Some people have little idea of who they really are, and that is because people allow themselves to be defined by the definition or label of others. They restrict you to what they perceive, and you will never be only what somebody else understands.

Your perception of yourself has limitations as well, and there is much more to you than meets the eye. You are like the creator of the heavens and the earth. You are like the Almighty, the beginning and the end, the one who has complete integrity in himself and you are created with all-sufficiency.

God wants you to prioritize his word

In Genesis 1:26 and 28, God mandated us to have dominion and to be fruitful. Be careful not to absorb everything people say unless it lines up with what God said in his word. You should not care about what people think about you unless it is alignment with what God says about you. Be careful what you take to heart, and that is why Jesus instructs us to be cautious about what we hear and how we hear. Everything we hear must begin to align with what God says about us, if they don’t, we must not receive it.

God wants you to know who you are

You have to know who you are and you cannot tell who you are by looking in the mirror. You cannot tell who you are by sampling the opinion of your friends; you can only know who you are by sampling the impression of genuine God-given revelations. Generally, the best and only place to find out who you are is to look at Jesus; he's the proper reflection of your real personal character, your real integrity, and your capacity. Jesus is the seed within you, and God would not ask you to be fruitful if he did not know that you already have the seed in you.

Religion / Becoming Who God Wants You To Be By Pastor Paul Adefarasin by wikido: 4:13pm On Aug 30, 2018
“Your Year To Become” in the “Something is about to happen” series. Preached by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin.

God is present in all of your time so when he speaks an eternal word into your now, that word remains, but he backs up all the way into your history and cleans up your past and prohibits it from affecting your future.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVXzZcjcE1I

He puts the word in place so that it no longer has the capacity to trip you up or to prevent you from coming into your promise. The same word that is eternal and present in your yesteryear and present time also stands far flung into your future, into the total of all that you will become.

When God makes a promise to you, he's not making it to you from your now or your yesteryears; he's making it you from a future that he has already experienced which you are yet to. But the Spirit of revelation can transport your intellect to experience in a glimpse, the future that you haven't come into yet so that what you see is a promise yet to happen and is also comforting to you now in your present.

God lives in your tomorrow

In the case of Jeremiah, he was a little boy ordained by God with no prior knowledge that he was sent to the nations. He had no clue his words will be so likened to an oracle from God, and that is office will change nations, states, kings, and systems.

When God spoke to him, Jeremiah began to retort and didn’t feel like he was capable, but God told him those things he had seen and done concerning him even before he was formed in his mother’s womb. God had experienced him entirely before he was even a blood clot.

The same applies to you; God has experienced your one-year-old infancy, your 10-year-old infancy. He has experienced your teenage years, your whole life already, so you can’t tell him you cannot be what or who he wants you to be. God is prophetic and lives in your tomorrow and from the reality of the tomorrow, he promises to give you specific assurances that you will make it.

Your transformation is a process

To become means whatever your stature or status is right now, you will not be that by the time the year ends. One short telltale sign that you are a recipient of the gospel continually is that there's transformation or progression in your life not behavior alteration. What you're going through right now is all part of God's orchestrated process to transform you into what you are to become.

You may be going through so many downturns and negatives, but God is never the author of evil; he sometimes allows it because in his sovereignty, coupled with his love, he is well able to use everything in your life as an orchestrated symphony to bring you to a symphonic and harmonious fulfilling latter end.

God is able to take the good, the bad and the ugly and make all things according to Romans 8:28 work together for the good of them who love him according to his purpose.

Everything can work together for your good

God is still in control of your life, and no matter what things you did do, God is still able to make them work together for your good. After all is said and done, everything is going to work together for your good to them who are the called according to his purpose. You can't stay far away from the word because the word will show you what you have on the inside, the word will show you where you can go, what God has in store for you.

The word of God will reveal to you all your possibilities and show you your creative purpose, and you will begin to call forth what you want from inside the earth. Your greatest weapon is your ability to take what is in the earth and shape it into the form of what you want to have.

God doesn't give you oak trees, you have to look down and humble yourself and pick up acorns and then plant them in the soil, and they'll become trees.

Religion / Pastor Paul Adefarasin teaches 'God is Taking Me Somewhere' by wikido: 3:45pm On Aug 28, 2018
“Watch out for me, God is taking me somewhere” in the “Something is about to happen” series. Preached by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin.

This sermon is energetic, powerful, brilliant and transforming. The central scripture is from Jeremiah 29:11; For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsAtBYRn_gs

Here are 4 things you can learn from the sermon:

1. We are connected to God

We are connected to God and in principle; what this means is that if we understand him correctly, we can’t run out of stuff. If we believe firmly, we won't ever be broke of anything anymore. We won’t run out of joy, peace, money or anything we need to fulfill God’s purpose in our lives.

We can go much further than we have come already and be much better than we are now, stronger, fitter and much more healthy because God is unlimited and we are connected to him. God’s connection to us is not based on our performance, how good we are or how well behaved we are. His bond to us is based on his purpose, and his purpose is something that belongs to him.

2. There is always a way

When we run out of pathways of passage and ideas, when we have nowhere else to go and when we don't see any possibility, Jesus is there. He will always be the way the truth and the life. There is always a way, and Jesus is our way. God showed Moses his way in his 80s when he called him out to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. Moses was astonished when he saw his gifting in the backside of the woods.

God usually reveals our gifting to us in its elementary and raw capacity, when there's nobody else looking so that we can practice with it in private. If you have the gift and the privacy and you don't practice, your gift will never be strong enough to take you anywhere powerful enough. In the case of Moses, he was naturally and supernaturally gifted. The natural gift was enhanced by his season of years in Pharaoh's house, but his supernatural gift was developed in the privacy of his ostracisation in exile.

3. Problems are opportunities

Problems are only opportunities to bring forth the power of God in your life. Without challenges, you have no progress. Your problems are just obstacles set in motion to appease the equivalence of the power in you to help you overtake it.

No matter what your problem is, God would never have let that problem come if he didn't think what he put in you were able to surmount it. The children of Israel had a problem when they were stranded at the Red Sea, God turned the problem into an opportunity to show his great power by dividing the Sea.

4. If you think like Christ, you will be like Christ

The Bible says “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ.” In other words, you don't need Christ to show up in every situation. You already have his mind, and when you have his mind, you have him. If you think like Christ, you can have what he has, and you can do what he does.

You can go where Christ goes, and you can be anything that he already is because you have his mind. “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he” - Prov 23:7. When Jesus Christ gave us his mind, he gave us his creativity. We are as creative as he is. If they give us lemons, we can make lemonades out of them.

About Pastor Paul Adefarasin:

Jakes, Pastor Paul has been fervent in his message of hope to the world and especially the African continent where he resides. He is also the Founder and President of the Rock Foundation; a charity based Organization committed to social reformation, education, provision of healthcare and relief work for ex-convicts, drug addicts, and the downtrodden and disadvantaged in Nigeria and West Africa.

The Ministry promotes reconciliation, redemption and reformation cutting across denominational and social divides. He has a burning passion for seeing the rehabilitation of his generation, his nation and his continent.

“Our vision is to be the voice of excellence, the hand of power and a bridge of hope. We believe in the power of God to change lives and value the practical application of His Word to make a difference in who we are and what we do. Believing and obeying His Word leads us to a discovery of real life and a hope for eternity; this is what the Bible teaches us, that Jesus Christ came as God’s gift to the world with a message of Good News.”

Pastor Paul has been happily married to pastor Ifeanyi since 1995.
