Crime / A 14yrs Black Boy Who Was Sentenced To Death, 70yrs Later, Found To Be Innocent. by Wisemfon(m): 5:38pm On Apr 10, 2022 |
A 14 YEARS BLACK BOY WHO WAS SENTENCED TO DEATH BY THE WHITES, 70YEARS LATER, HE WAS FOUND TO BE INNOCENT. George Junius Stinney (1929-1944), the boy on the pictures, was born to a black family living in Alcolu, South Carolina, USA in October 21, 1929. On March 24, 1944, two white girls, Betty Binnicker (11yrs) and Mary Thames(9yrs) were found dead in a ditch near Greenhill Babtist Church, Alcolu. Afterwards, George Stinney, a 14 years old black boy was arrested and charged for being responsible for the death of the white girls on the account that the girls were last seen with him. He was detained in prison, not allowed to see his parents until after his trial. In his 81 days confinement, the police did not give him access to a lawyer, against US Law. He was, however, made to confess to a crime he obviously did not commit. On April 24, Stinney was charged to court. The entire proceedings of the court, including the selection of the jury, for Stinney's trial took only a day. He was tried in a court filled with 1000 whites, no Blacks were allowed to enter. Sadly, the attorney given to him by the state, Charles Plowden, was a political figure, hence failed to call witnesses or any evidence to defend young Stinney. The prosecution team, in the other hand, failed to produces written and signed confession of Stinney as demanded by the law. Infact, he was also accused of rape. In all, the entire trial took only 2hrs and with only 10min of deliberation by the jury, death judgement by electrocution was pronounced on George Stinney. Families, Churches, NGOs, Human Right Organizations protested, wrote and appealed to the Governor of South Carolina, Olin Johnston, to stop Stinney execution because of his age, but he failed to grant him clemency. June 16, George Stinney was led to the police. He was made to sit in an oversize electric chair. Bible was used as a seat boaster because he was too small for the chair. Also, an oversize mask was put on him. 2400volts of electricity surged through his body, the mask flipped off, his eyes wide and teary, and saliva dripped out of his mouth, for all in the room to see. After two more jolts of electricity, at exactly 7:30pm, George Stinney was gone. Therefore he became the youngest to be sentenced to death in the whole of US history. REOPENING OF GEORGE STINNEY TRIAL In 2004, a Historian, George Frierson, along with others, start a fresh investigation into Stinney's case and in 2014, having gathered enough evidence, challenged the court ruling of April 24, 1944 in another court. Frierson was able to identify the real culprit to be George Burke Jnr.(though late); a son of influential family, whose rather, George Burke Snr. was a member of the jury that pronounced judgement on Stinney. He, Burke Snr., Was also the owner of the territory behind the Greenhill Babtist Church were the girls' bodies were found. Wayne Burke, son of George Burke Jnr, was alleged to have confess of his father's deathbed congression about the killing of the girls— Wayne later denied it. Also when called to witness, Wilford Hunter, former cellmate with George Stinney, tell the court that Stinney had told him in the cell: "I did not kill them, they made me to confess". Several other witnesses was called upon including Stinney's brother and sister At the end of it all, Judge Carmen Mullen ruled that George Stinney was INNOCENT, thus Stinney was exonerated after 70 years. George Stinney was killed for nothing, for a crime he did not commit. He died. Why? Why should a 14yrs old boy made to confess without the guidance of his parents or lawyer? The trial of a murder case took only 2hrs? How? How would a jury deliberate for only 10min on one's life? This show a pre-determined judgement. If it was a white boy, i bet you, it would have last for days or years. But he was Black! Is it because he was black? What if he was white? Would he have died? For the exoneration after 70yrs, is it not medicine after dead?... Racism is one of the devilish concept that has ticked against justice. If he was white, careful investigation could have ensured, hasty judgement would not have taken place. But then he was black! I, in the word of Matthew Ashimolowo, ask the whole world, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH BEING BLACK?" #RacismIsEvil #EndRacismNow #BlackLifeMatters #EqualityIsTheKey #BlackHistory #DarkHistory #HorribleHistory #VoiceOfTheBlacks #AgonyOfTheBlacks #AfricanHistory #VoiceOfAfrica #LearnFromHistory #WisdomMfon Writes. |

Jobs/Vacancies / A Talented Nigerian Display His Nigeria Acquired Business IQ In Canada by Wisemfon(m): 5:58pm On Apr 04, 2021 |
A young, well qualified Officer left the job in Lagos and emigrated to Canada for better prospects and applied for a salesman's job at Vancouver's premier downtown department store. It was the biggest store in the world: you could get anything there. The boss asked him, "Have you ever been a salesman before?" "Yes sir, I was a salesman in Nigeria The boss liked him and said, "You can start tomorrow. Learn fast and do well. " The first working day was long and arduous for the young man, but he got through it. Finally 6 pm came around. The boss duly fronted up and asked, "How many sales did you make today?" "Sir, I made ONE sale!" said the young salesman rather happily. "Only one sale?!" shot back the boss. "No! No! You see, most of my staff make 20 or 30 sales a day. If you want to keep this job, you'd better be doing better than just one sale. By the way, how much was your sale worth?" "$933,005.00", said the man. "What?! How did you manage that?" asked the flabbergasted boss. "Well," said the salesman, "this man came in and I sold him a small fish hook, then a medium hook and finally a really large hook. Then I sold him a good fishing rod and some fishing gear. Then I asked him where he was going fishing and he said down the coast. So I told him he'd be needing a boat, so I took him down to the boat department and sold him that 20-foot schooner with the twin engines. Then he said his Volkswagen wouldn't be able to carry it, so I took him to our automotive department and sold him that new Deluxe 4X4 Blazer. I then asked him where he'll be staying and since he had not decided, I took him to camping department and sold him a six-sleeper camper tent. Then he said I should throw in about $200 worth of groceries and two cases of juice." The boss took two steps back and asked in astonishment, "You sold all that to a guy who came in for a fish hook?!" "No, sir," answered the young man, "he came in to buy sanitary napkins for his wife and I convinced him that since he will be bored with his wife being in period - fishing is the best remedy for boredom." Boss: "Where did you acquiree this professional training?!" "Onitsha main market in Anambra sir." #copied Nigeria got talent!!! cc: lalasticala cc: mynd 44 18 Likes |

Crime / A Nigerian In US Gets 34 Years Jail Term For Defrauding Charities, Old People by Wisemfon(m): 10:25pm On Apr 02, 2021 |
Babatope Joseph Aderinoye, a Nigerian living in the US, has been sentenced to 34 years in prison for fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars from several people. Aderinoye, 30, also scammed a charity based in Fort Worth, Texas, of $100,000. According to Fox4news, his fraud scheme targeted senior citizens, a north Texas school district, and the Fort Worth charity which provides financial aid to families of terminally ill patients. Kristina Robertson, founder of the charity, said her bank had noticed a suspicious email request for a transfer . “I think he was just fishing and kind of seeing who he could catch,” she said. “I think we were very naive at the time thinking that it would not happen to us even though we were taking what we thought were appropriate procedures. They weren’t enough.” The FBI said Aderinoye stole more than $6.7 million from his victims and used fake passports to set up 13 fake businesses and 40 bank accounts. Aderinoye and his accomplices were said to have encouraged their victims to wire money which they subsequently transferred to a Nigerian bank account. He was said to have unsuccessfully attempted to steal money from a school district. The school thwarted his attempt and reported him to the authorities, which resulted in the FBI’s investigation. Nicholas Ganjei, the acting US attorney, 7243 the fraud committed by Aderinoye is a threat to the country’s financial system. He said: “The types of fraud committed by Mr. Aderinoye and his co-conspirators not only have lasting ramifications for the affected victims but also threaten the integrity of our country’s financial systems.” https://www.legit.ng/1410091-nigerian-living-us-34-years-jail-term-defrauding-charities-people.html 1 Like |

Jobs/Vacancies / Lady Loses Job Opportunity Due To Her Response To HR's Phonecall by Wisemfon(m): 5:46pm On Apr 01, 2021 |
A lady I referred for a bank job in the first week of June got a call this morning to resume work at an Uyo branch of the said commercial bank. She was fortunate to be among the few applicants that were shortlisted from among a large pool of graduates who got interviewed for the jobs. No, but she won't be resuming! She finally lost the opportunity because of a phone call. She had received the call in the early hours of today, 10:00am precise. It was from the HR department of the bank. But she didn't say "hello". Her first remark when she picked was "who's this?" Before she got any other reply she added "how did you get my number?" The HR person goes "Am I speaking to Miss xxxxxxx?" She felt the question is unnecessary! And she gave her final response. "Please if you don't want to introduce yourself get out of my phone" that was her final word! I got a feedback from the HR by 12noon today and I listened to that conversation. Those kinds of phone calls are always recorded for reference purposes. Aunty lost the job because she lacks Phone Conversations Etiquette! I listened to the recorded version of that conversation. She lost the job because she believes every unknown male caller is a "chyker". You see? After all it's not always because HR people are "despicable" as they have been labeled by Nigerians! Why would a Homosapien answer a phone call like this in the year 2020AD? Watch out! Your next phone call might be your breakthrough! But your ill-manners could cost you the miracle 720 Likes 56 Shares |
