A daughter of Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, Iyetade, is dead.

A statement signed on behalf of the family by a former Editor of the Guardian on Sunday, Mr. Jahman Anikulapo and a close aide to Soyinka, stated that Iyetade, a mother of two, died while receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

A Boeing 737 plane with over 100 passengers belonging to Aero Contractors had a tyre blow-out, on Sunday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced the mastermind of the 2011 Christmas Day Bombing of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State, Kabiru Umar popularly known as Kabiru Sokoto to life imprisonment.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Monday ruled out the conduct of the 2015 general election in states under emergency rule just as it said it needed N92.9 billion.

Leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, Thursday claimed responsibility for the attacks on the Composite Group Air force Base in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital that occurred on Monday, December 2.

Indications emerged on Wednesday that the over five months old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) may soon be over as the Federal Government and the leadership of the ASUU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
