@Nlam forget about school ranking. Every school in Canada is good. just go to any school that u can afford. USASK is a good one considering the fact that there are lots of jobs around saks. Sorry for the late reply |

@soyomoney, msc accounting is a good one. Not many people dey do that course for here. But after that u have to get certification eg CA, CGA or CBV. An accountant without certification here is not that respected. CA= Chartered accountant CGA= certified general accountant CBV= Certified Business Valuator. (This one hard die, but pays more) Look into University of Waterloo i think that they have a good accounting course. I have a friend looking into PHD Accounting. I go try connect the both of una when he returns from naija. |

@soyomoney, ACCA is not recognised in North America, Brock is also a good school, but please look for the program that has internship stream and also try to look for a 2years MSC program. Dont do one year msc as it might humt u later in regards to getting work permit after graduation |

@mevisbleek, I really appreciate what u are doing, I did BSc Accounting right here in Nigeria, I plan to do MSc Finance in Canada, but damn they are too expensive, I came across MBA in University of Manitoba, what can u advise, I will check MBA in Oil and Gas at University of Calagary, I just hope it doesn't exceed 1.7mills. I will appreciate if u can enlighten me more on MBA and MSC Finance programmes. |

@dahonestboss, for msc the cheapest u will see is $12,000, for MBA the cheapest is $25,000, for college u can see $7000 |

@seir405, look for any school in Alberta. As an engineer stay in Alberta area. Univ of calgary, university of sakskachewan, lethbridge univ etc |

@mevisbleek pls where is Queens University, which is preferable in Canada MBA or MSC Finance. I just came across that Queens is in Kingston Ontario, u advised earlier that to get work in Ontario is not easy, why do u advise me study in Ontario again. |

@andre99, queens university is in Kingston, Ontario. I recommend that school cos they have a strong alumni network. Ontario is saturated oh. I recommended queens cos its a good school and i heared that their msc program is not expensive. If u get the money i would advise u to go for MBA. Even after MBA u can still do Phd if u want. In my opinion i would say employers respect MBA more. No vx for my question, what your budget for MBA? |

fagin1982: @mevisbleek Graduate assistance are given to students who apply when already in the program. Ryerson University offers full entry scholarship to selected MBA students. U just have to apply early. Last year one yoruba guy got full scholarship. So just google Ryerson University and trying applying. For the scholarship i know that they look at the following: GMAT Score, Undergad grade (minimum 2:1), Extra-curricular activities (this is very important), Professional Qualification (eg CFA, CMA etc). They give 20 people every year. So apply early and God go help you. The naija guy that got the thing last year had 740 in his GMAT, and First class from OOU. GOD GO HELP U NO WORRY. @mevisbleek, I must commend u for all this information you are passing unto us, by God's grace we are going to see in canada, AMEN! I start by saying, is MBA more respected than Msc in Canada, my parents shd be able to cough out 2million at most for MBA, what do u think, will I get scholarship, I finished with a 2:1 and I shd be able to get like 680 in GMAT if I try. Any advise is highly welcomed, I won't take it as am offence. |

In my opinion i would say MBA is more respectable. The cheapest MBA u would see is $25,000. Take am easy on ur parents i beg times are hard. Just go college first when u work raise money then u sponsor urself for MBA. Try applying for the Ryerson University scholarship and u might be selected. But u need to do GMAT first cos u wld be asked for ur GMAT result |

However, Vancouver Island University does not require GMAT and their tuition is like $33,000 for the 16months program. MSC Programs require GRE. the cheapest MBA IN canada is $25,000 (Ryerson University) and the most expensive is $85,000 (University of Toronto) 1 Like 1 Share |
