Not the high cost, my dear, but the chance(s) of getting PR after you finish your study (should that be one of your aim of studying there). If you are PR minded, kindly search for regional universities or colleges and apply there. Ypu may not enjoy the place 'cos of low population but it is very easy to get PR'd after study.

Every information you need regarding general skilled program can be found on the Australia immigration website, but more specifically, you can check

http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/

You need to do a lot of research and check your possibility of meeting the criteria before you make a final decision to apply.

Note: if you can't provide substantial proof regarding any aspect of the requirements like work experience, age, qualifications etc, it won't be wise to lodge an application because they actually send out their representatives to verify most of them.

RedReact: If PR is the goal, don't look for Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth and other big cities because it wont be easy to get the PR from there, except you are being sponsored by a company. To get sponsorship from companies in those cities is not a small thing too because there are many citizens living there; why should they want to waste their money (to be used to make profit) to now sponsor you? Instead, go to the towns with less population. Use google to search for Australian cities and the institutions in them. If the city has a low population, apply to the schools there and make sure your course of study is 2years (we have talked abput this before on this thread). When you are through with your study, you can easily get your PR and then transfer yourself to any big city you want.

holahola78: I lodged for visa since monday 18th and I have not heard anything pls I hope this is normal. I thought I should get an email tht they have received my application on wednesday but I only gt an sms from vfslagos that my application has been forwarded. How do u guys knw your files are with DIBP? Thanks. I'm for assessment level 3. But there is a X at the back of my ref no. Am I processed as a SVP? Lol or its just coincidental.
Note I did my medicals prior to submission.

Take your referral letter,passport and photocopy of passport. Your picture will be taken at d clinic as with fatayi clinic o. That's all u need. And of course try and call before going to ascertain ur fees o. Lol

Well I was told ppl tht will work in hosp as a nurse or doctors have a special medical examination and I was charged 80,200 but normal was said to be 60,200 at fatayi william. Xray incl. But its just 5200. Imagine

mcdon60: you cannot get a PR in OZ as an exchange student. You need to apply for a degree program in any OZ university or a 2year diploma course to be eligible for a PR. do not come to OZ wit d intention of running away, You must study. OZ will favor you if you abide by their rules. Btw which schl r u in Germany?
