Diogo1: I am at loss. I weep for this great nation. I have been an observer on many threads in Nairaland and other blogs. All I see is tribalism disaffection, conspiracy theories and a whole bunch of unhappy citizens.

Fortunately for me, I went to a Federal Government College 26 years ago. I have seen that as young or growing teens we were more detribalized than what is btainable presently. We saw ourselves as brothers. Fortunately/unfortunately (depending on your view) most of my friends look at or judge persons from other tribes based sorely on their personal conduct and utterances.

That said, Nigeria is bedeviled with a lot of ills, corruption, Boko Haram, ethnic killings, murders, tribalism, general insecurity, power tussles, phcn wahala (although improving) high unemployment, oil bunkering, just name it. The list is endless.

I was in banking for 11 years, most of my colleagues looked at it as an opportunity to get rich quick. If those at the top were looting, they could as well help themselves at the branch level. I thought that was all. I now have a little office and some of my employees look at my office as their own (opportunity to get a slice of their) national cake. Are we all like this and we believe corruption will stop?

We all agree that what we need is good and purposeful leadership. Do you know any Nigerian (both within or outside) that can truely lead us out of our current predicaments? What qualities has he/she to do that? Do you believe he/she will not transform only his geo-political zone and appoint his/her cronies to exalted offices?

Can we truely get a leader who is not corrupt or one who will willing want to be initiated into corruption? Should it be Oshimole, Okorocha, Fashola, David Mark, or even a woman like the finance or petroleum ministers? Who can do the magic?

I really need your nominations, opinions, thoughts and reasons for your suggestions. Thank you.
I think David Mark is the best man for the job. Can I send my cv to you,I need a job seriously.my email is imochanew05@yahoo.com.thank you

Man shut up! $15 million is a huge sum even by bill gates standard, $15 million can get you a large mansion even in holmby hills.

I take it you don't know the value of money, because you've never has any. maybe you think we are talking of
naira.

That goes to show that you rate Bill Gates' wealth higher than the wealth of your Nigerian leaders.

I have nothing further to say at this point. cry

afam4eva: What we need is a technocrat in the mould of Chukwuma Soludo, Pat Utomi and dedicated people like Dora Akunyili, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Oby Ezekwesili and sticklers for rules like Rochas Okorocha, Babatunde Raji Fashola and Adams Oshiomole.
Ngozi and Fashola renders your list useless.

I understand you perfectly. Even Pinocchio was a puppet but did he remain a puppet forever?

Hitler and Stalin were both puppets but they were able to cut loose from their restraints and achieve historical greatness.

if 5 years later and Fashola is still a puppet, what does this tell about his character? You tell me.

So hitler and Stalin are your definition of greatness right? There is something wrong with your thinking process, get it checked.

Besides hitler was still a puppet till his death, he was controlled by people who funded his third reich, people like ford, rockerfeller, and the rotschilds so don't talk rubbish because people like you were perfect candidates for his gas chambers.

Are you more concerned with being a puppet or being able to work for the good of the state? Was tinubu a puppet but what did he do? Fashola has done much more than tinubu ever did in his two terms. So I don't know what your problem is, probably you just learned the word puppet.

What Nigerian leaders have is not classified as wealth, it is loot and therefore it isn't recognised so they hide it from one place to the other. If going by your standards, then people like ghadaffi will be world richest.

And also greedy Nigerian politicians don't ignore even a penny, they steal everything, they are never satisfied, they keep amassing stolen wealth bit by bit so you see your idea is flawed.

Oh! I really get it now. Are you an Okada rider? Was your Okada seized? Because only Okada riders, street hawkers, thieves or fools hate fashola

No I'm not an okada rider.

Igbo people and their tribalistic sentiments. cry

I met a few of them in my 2 years sojourn in Aba: a part of my life I want to forget in a hurry. They know nothing about politics yet shout 'Biafra' at the slightest opportunity.

Is it Pat Utomi that a few years ago was a member of the defunct 'Mega Party' which had the likes of Atiku, Buhari and Attahiru Bafarawa? Or is it Oshiomhole that used the heads of working-class Nigerians to play tete?

Jeez! Dude you need a lesson in history.
What exactly is your point? What has Biafra got to do with this? Don't ever quote me in your life until you grow a brain.

Same goes for Stalin in russia, Stalin represents evil to the people of Russia, do you know how many of his own people he purged? Why is Russia no longer in the Stalin style communism?

Dude, if you've got jokes biko take it to the jokes section. I won't engage you in tomfoolery. Someone asked a simple question and i replied and here is someone accusing Igbo of tribalism despite the fact that he's Igbos. I get he's the only Igbo in the world that's immune to bigotry. Nonsense.
