I may sound a bit un-arsenal or pessimistic but i like facing the truth.

Guys, we have a lean squad and no thanks to injury too. It was good at the begining because theses guys were still strong then, both physcially n mentally, but I knew fatigue would set in. We parade the same set of players for all games. Our last 4 drawn matches was sort of a herald that these guys were getting tired but impassioned patrotism was a blinder on some pples faces. Lets face some facts, except our pedagogic manager buys more players and experienced ones too, i see light at the end of the tunnel, but seems to me like it's an oncoming train. We have to increase our squad numerically and experience-wise. Tounges may wag for what i just said but to me it's reality.

I live Arsenal, I dream Arsenal, I feel Arsenal i've nt even eaten b/c of this loss, but I'm also logical. I rily need a silverware. 4 years is a long wait. I sincerely pray and hope something comes in. Gunner all the way, win or loose.

Get well soon Eduardo!

YOU TOLD THE TRUTH AND MADE THE DEVIL ASHAMED, TRUE FAN!!!!!!!!!!

When did Villa became a force to reckon with in EPL, because Useless arsenal could not beat them. Incase you don't know sunderland beat the yesterday. Ask Oneil he will tell you that he has lost that game already. We have beaten them twice this season dude.

PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 points difference with 7 GAMES TO GO?? ?? ??
All the managers in the world working with Wenger cannot wrestle the title away from Man Utd at this stage.

I laugh when people tell me Arsenal still have to go to OT and play Man Utd.
What is to say Arsenal won't get walloped 4-0 again in April? We are talking about Fort Knox here not bloody Emirates stadium.

Teams like Man City, Wigan, Pompey, Derby County and Bolton CAN beat Man Utd easily. . . We don't give a hoot.
However, United WILL NOT LOSE to the teams around em on the table. cheesy wink cheesy
Arsenal will come to OT and LOSE again. . . . . . United will go to SB and get a DRAW.

@ Presido1,

Don't mind these clowns.
Aston Villa that we have beaten TWICE already at Villa Park this season. . . . .
They will come to OT and get whupped like we do em annually. . . The only banana skin game we have is Blackburn AWAY.
With the title in sight. . . . I think Man Utd players are experienced enough to cope with the pressure and get maximum points there.
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by debosky(m): 2:38am On Mar 24, 2008
Sad result. . .we showed a lack of fighting spirit that Chelski unfortunately had. sad

At this point, it would be highly optimistic to say the least that we would win the prem, given our form of late - NOT the points gap. If we were in excellent form going into these games, I would probably be a bit more keen, but the results DO NOT favor us at all right now.

Aside MU losing at SB and we beating them and winning all the remaining games, the title race is lost for us already. If I were AW, I'd focus more energy on the CL cos the league form simply isn't coming together right now. sad

Where have our strikers gone

@ Kit

it wasn't a bench that won this game, it was a tenacious game winning DD. Ade has tried all he can this season, but this is the big game, big time performance that we need from our best striker in the crucial aspect of the season. We don't seem to have anyone who can do that sadly.

As usual, I have not seen the game yet, full analysis to come after that.

Sad, Sad day sad

Gunner 1915 sad undecided

I mentioned weeks ago that Chelsea is our main threat to
the title and not Arsenal. They atill are.

I really wanted Arsenal to win so they could kill off Chelsea's
challenge because Arsenal's season had been over a long time
ago.

I talked about Wenger not reinforcing and Arsenal fans won't
agree. A team comes fourth in the premiership, loses Henry
and all they came up with were light weight replacements.

United won the title and went for Hargo, Tevez, Anderson and
Nani. What do we expect other than this?

It's not worth it talking about Arsenal. Let's go worry about
Chelsea.

@McOmo

I feel for you.

Wenger is the major Culprit.

He knew he need a bigger and quality players to execute the campaign.

The management was ready to give him money last January but he is very stubborn.

He continually toiled with the emotion of die-hard fans.

United has a terrific side but SAF still fork out millions on few players which is now yeilding Dividend
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Chacal: 4:39am On Mar 24, 2008
@ Akolawole,

U felt for MC Omo? Are u this charitable?
Do u believe in your heart of hearts that Arsenal would win the EPL with a paper-thin squad?
The team has no depth at all. . . . .The same XI will line up again in their next game and most teams now know how to play Arsenal.
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by ayusman16(m): 7:09am On Mar 24, 2008
After going thru most of u guy's analysis; they were quite right. We just accept that we've lost already in the league and the players are already tired to pose any threat in the Champion's league. Even a dumb coach can easily predict our formation (starting 11) and subs to be either Walcott or Bendtner in the 2nd half.

But to the question now is; is the management only concerned about the profits AW generates to trophies?

Is he that principled that he's still sticking to the young lads rather than buy experienced players like Man. United and Chelsea?

We used our hands to hand over the league to the scummies not that they can be better than us (If only AW knows not)

I am really concerned about my beloveth club!

This sentence alone shows that Wenger will be better than you as a coach. How on earth do you still believe Ass-Anal will win the EPL after writting all you have written in you post.
The same myopic sight wengay has as far as footie is concerned have been transfered to all gayners and that is you guys undoing. How can you say the youth policy doesn't work yet you say the those youth will still win the EPL. What a Contradictory statement .
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by yommys01(m): 8:17am On Mar 24, 2008
I agree totally with Rman and Presido1 ,I have always believe Arsene Wenger is got nothing to offer ,my points is that our bench is not good enough ,our first team is as good as the second them of Manchester United , Chelsea , Madrid , Barcelona and to some point Ac .Arsene should buy players or is he scared of big players as he does not seem to know how to handle big players which is why I think he sells them off as soon as they are 28, all Gunner fans should keep heart , I don't think any one still wants to win the premiership any one thinking along that line may have to visit a doctor at the end of the season, we have a better chance in the champions league though

What is wrong ? . . . I know the defeat is bad . . but it's also got you speaking strangely. . . . the top 3 are still in it. . aw in the world are the top 3 in it?

If I were you I will worry about the derbies and liverpools still to come. . . . you did not beat Chelsea at the bridge and now you want to go beat ManU at OT?

Actually we won't mind if you do that . . . . . if you guys can promise us you will do that. . . We at SB will be really glad as long as you promise that you will draw all the small teams as usual . . . then we can think about beating ManU at SB and b4 you know we are on top and then it's ours to lose. . . . grin grin

Control Issues

The manager declined to slam his team after their defeat, and instead said that luck was partially to blame.

He told the BBC, "I think we were unlucky for the first goal because it was a real offside goal - and it was a foul first from John Terry - but we suffered, I must concede, from the long balls when Anelka came on, and from Drogba, they gave us a lot to suffer, and then we lost control.

"But we were in control, and big parts of our team played very well and had a good game.

"Was Anelka's arrival the turning point? Yes, I feel we were not serene enough to deal with the long balls and a little bit unlucky as well with second balls. And I think with the second goal we were a bit unlucky.

"Overall the team played well, and we now want to keep fighting."

Disruption & Anxiety

When asked if Sagna's removal was a negative influence, Wenger admitted, "It was a real disruption,  We then gave away a goal and we were disturbed by that moment and also by the fact that three players on the cross were offside at the start, and the players wondered, did we drop too deep, is he offside or not, and maybe at that moment Chelsea took advantage of it because they have quality players.

"Did four consecutive draws bring about anxiety? No, I feel we played without any restriction. We played well, and I couldn't say any effect from the fact that we didn't win in the last four games."

Closing on a defiant note, he denied that the title race was over.

"I don't react like that," he said. "We want to win the next one, and we'll see what happens."

DAMN!!!!!! This Arrow is such a sore loser, he is a sorry excuse 4 a coach, no wonder most arsenal fans are naive

Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by eldee(m): 11:58am On Mar 24, 2008
First of all, I have to say the Chelsea loss should not be seen as just one match.
Gone was the Hleb that used to run at every defender and get injured every two weeks.
Gone was the Adebayor that would keep running around in the box-18 to get the defenders busy, even if he knew he wasn't going to score.
The whole team was obviously stressed out. Like we needed our own special transfer window.
Our freeflowing football was now an effort to mask the tiredness with Fabregas preferring to do the long passes rather than his famous one-two's.
After that match, all I could say was, this is where we need a Henry, a Berbatov, or maybe a Ballack.
This is where the one moment of brilliance counts. Like that cross from Pires to Ade's forehead.

Fine AW took a team of youngsters to the UCL Final, but remember we had Henry, Pires, Campbell, Cashley and the old Gilberto in that team.
That's when we could score one and then grind through the rest of the match.
When substitutions used to mean something. Not just one player running lost in gameplay.
AW needs to remember that like the unbeaten season, this is a league, you need two potential first teams to win.
Every player in a 'Big Four' team has a his replacement, that's there praying he gets injured. Just imagine if Fabregas gets injured now. . .hmmn
Compared to scummers' Divino, that has Giggs, Nani and J.S Park that can hold their own, maybe not as good but still manageable.

In my own opinion, what Wenger needs is a Sports Director, like how Chelski got Grant.
Sumone to make him realise that he needs to go all out for every winnable trophy. That he can't lose 5-1 to our rivals even in the reserve league. cheesy
Football has changed since 2005, money rules the league now. Torres is a goose that lays golden eggs, that's why Liverpool killed to get him.
Tevez was fought for in and out of court, why? He's proven his worth elsewhere.
Big teams buy big players and leave the player discovery to their under18's and reserve team coaches.
The young ones then have to break into the team. That's what makes biographies interesting. cheesy
Even Fergie knows that he can't discover a class of '93 again, like Abrahimovich and Hicks will let under23 take the trophy.

Even though I still believe that there's still a possibility of us winning the EPL, I'll still say all these should be corrected ASAP.
The boys did a great job taking us this far, they need to get their act together and steal the trophy for us.
They might never get this close to the trophy in the remaining years of their careers.

@ Eldee,

I warned y'all. . . . . .didn't i?
Wenger wants to win the EPL title with 14 decent players.
Look at your rivals and scan through their STRENGTH IN DEPTH. . . . . . . .

Arsenal is not dropping points because they are not good enough.
They ARE DROPPING POINTS COS OF FATIGUE. . . . . This was the same reason United crashed out of UCL and lost the FA cup final last season.
Take a careful look at Fab4 and compare his contribution in the first 3 months to what we have today.

Still, he would start Arsenal's next game again.
A psychiatric patient can close his eyes and name Arsenal's first XI in any match(Y'all are too predictable).
Ferguson, Grant and RAFA can change things around to win games. . . . . .WENGER cannot.
He should take the blame. . . .Leave Hleb, Adebayor and Fabregas out of this.

I knew that but I guess I was looking at the good part of all that.
If the players get to play together week-in, week-out, they get to form a stronger bond.
That's what Liverfluke don't have. There was a time I heard on Sky News that Rafa did not consecutively repeat a team for 99 matches.
Players need to play to stay fit, and understand each other.
Guess that's the part Wenger viewed it from.

Our problem started when we began to play all the cups with the same team.

I just hope AW learns from this, we simply need to buy more players IMHO. I just don't want to think about those 4 draws we had, two wins out of four would have been better.

Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by chuckdee4(m): 3:00pm On Mar 24, 2008
Sunday was ainful i no go lie, AW needs some class players in that team, plus we need a much bigger team, the likes of Fab, Hleb and Ade are all worn out, we need quality squad players who can fill in and do the business, yesterday we didn't have anyone on the bench who could come in and change the game, plus why couldn't Gallas/Toure handle balls in the air, that was sure our downfall, both drogba goals could have been avoided if they had handled him in the air.

The title is fast slipping away ans as a fan i refuse to believe its over yet, especially with United having to play Chelsea and us but its going to be very hard.
The team has surpassed themselves this season and if anything have grown much quickker than expected, nobody expected us to be where we are this season but we've been right there at the top and thats why we all felt we could go on and win it. We could definetly do much better if Wenger strenghtens up the team, the likes of ROsicky/RVP have been badly missed thats why wee need quality replacements, we need wingers and a CB who does not take any nonsense in the air, i'm sick n tired of Drogba bossing our back 4, those goals where not quality it was simply a ball pin balling itself around the 18 that wasn't dealt with.

Its all good, may the best team win the premiership, but AW needs to start recruiting for next season
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by nateevs(m): 3:05pm On Mar 24, 2008
The problem with Arsene is hie pride. . . .

There are sometimes in the life of every individual where you have to say "Ok it's not working. . . let's switch"
I think I remember being offered £45m to have anyone he could. . . .
There are several players that'l leave their lives behind to play for Arsenal. . . . Many players like the style

Chelsea got Anelka for £13m . .If AW has spent £45m or close to that in either the summer transfer or the Jan transfer, they would have been at least 15 pts away from the rest of us. . . the momentum was so scary . . . it seemed like they will win every other match. . .

But the young boys were going to crumble. . . . selling Henry and then buying Sagna and the rest is like replacing Wenger himself with Avram Grant. . . .

Funniest thing is he will repeat the same process next season again. . . . .Well I hope he does. .
Like I said many months ago. . . . . . Football is about trophies. . not just about fancy football and Child development!!!!
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by ayusman16(m): 3:13pm On Mar 24, 2008
Considering that we could easily av won these games. Anyway, hope Aw learnt valuable lessons from Fergie and AG!
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by ayusman16(m): 3:21pm On Mar 24, 2008
Yeah! May d best team win! Do u know that our opponents cld easily predict our formation, tactics and substitutions? AW has run short of ideas?

@Nateev, really don't agree with u that football is all about trophies; well that's not the reason why am a die-hard gunner. It's all about the passion for good football, style of play! Why do u think Barnsley, Hull City and Wes Brom fans are so passionate about their clubs with little or no hope of winning trophies?
