Abidal would be fine, they rested him for precautionary measure. Yaya earned himself a place in my first eleven against Inter, few inaccurate passes but the guy played very well in espanyol and xerez game. yaya-xavi-busquet in the middle should locked the game for us and there is no room for mistake as abidal is starting ahead of maxwell, ibra on the bench for henry/bojan to head the attack. |

Re: Barcelona Fans Thread. by RuuDie(m): 4:51pm On Apr 26, 2010 |
still put my money on Barca. . . . & i think they'd make it far easier for 'emselves if they just let that Ibrahimovic fella sit it out on the bench; I prefer Bojan, Pedro & Messi - not a lot of experience in there but when they move & switch positions while keeping that 1-touch ball at pace with precision, defences stutter and ultimately crumble! |

MILAN - Belgian official Frank De Bleeckere has been appointed to oversee Wednesday evening's 2009/10 UEFA Champions League semi-final return leg between Barcelona and Inter. At the Camp Nou he will be assisted by Hermans, Vromans and fourth man Gumienny. This is looking good for inter. |

Black_Revo: Can you at least explain why it looks good for inter? |
Re: Barcelona Fans Thread. by honeric01(m): 9:43am On Apr 27, 2010 |
2 : 0 would be hard to achieve because i don't see us keeping a clean sheet, so i expect more goals if possible. |
Re: Barcelona Fans Thread. by scantee(m): 11:04am On Apr 27, 2010 |
honeric01: i bet u we will keep clean sheet, i don't see barca conceding any goal in camp nou. |
Re: Barcelona Fans Thread. by AjanleKoko: 11:06am On Apr 27, 2010 |
eyoniggar: Attacking 4-3-3 Good choice Toure. He wins balls, and will join the attack, like we saw over the weekend. BG have to play their hearts out. Expect Inter to sit back and soak up the pressure, then try to catch BG on the break. Let's see how things go. |
Re: Barcelona Fans Thread. by honeric01(m): 11:35am On Apr 27, 2010 |

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON! So here we are once again, at that point in the season where everything is on a knife’s edge. Where it is all still to be played for. Every game feels like life or death, every mistake scrutinised, every upcoming fixture debated and analysed to see where any potential slip-up may occur. It really is a time to hold your nerve. But it is also a good time to look back and recognise just how well we have done this season. After last season’s unbelievable exploits, many expected Barca would fail to reach the same heights again in this campaign. And although there have been some awkward, less-than-vintage Barca moments, all in all the team has continued along in the same vein, playing with style and intelligence, forcing the football world to recognise what had been threatened for so long – FC Barcelona is the true home of beautiful football. So far this season the club has amassed an amazing 87 points in the league. The only reason we have not won the league already is because Real Madrid just won’t go away, but after spending nearly €300 m euros on players last summer, it would have been foolish to imagine them falling by the wayside quite so easily. So we fight on, hoping the boys from the capital would falter before we do, and perhaps we can have a good reason to believe that this just may be the case. Barca have only lost four competitive matches all season – an amazing feat when you consider that Manchester United and Chelsea have lost more than that in their league competitions, United with 7, and Chelsea 6. Real Madrid have also lost four games, but once again that’s just their league total, their overall record is 7 defeats this season. This is an amazing achievement byFC Barcelona, considering how long and demanding this season has been, what with our Spanish Super Cup, European Super Cup and World Club Cup exploits. And yet we are still in the hunt for two major trophies. Pep, Tito and all the backroom staff have worked wonders with the squad, keeping them fit and motivated when it would be so easy to slip off into self-indulgence or allow exhaustion to creep in. Of course a lot of credit must go to the players who have shown real determination and hunger throughout the campaign, never letting their heads drop, always fighting to the end, playing with the craft and style we all expect. This is not easy to do when you’re under as much pressure as Barca have been this season, but they have done it, and, more often than not, they’ve done it with a smile on their face. They are a credit to the club and the badge they wear above their hearts. We should be proud of this team. They are arguably the greatest Barca team of all time, and even if we finish this season trophyless (not saying we will), they have achieved so much and given us so much pleasure that we cannot become ungrateful when things begin to get a little sticky. Take the Inter Milan game for example. Sure they didn’t play as well as we know they can, but there are reasons for that. (The journey, the referee, the length of the season to date, everyone has an off day.) But should we be looking for disaster where there is only a minor derailing to be found? No we should not. We are not entitled to the kind of ‘magic’ every time the players step out on the pitch, nor can we expect to win every game. Only those who do not understand or care about football wouldn’t have it any other way. Sure a defeat always brings with it a few dark nights of the soul, but to react as some have done recently is certainly short-sighted and unnecessary. This current team has never let us down. We should be proud of what they have achieved and believe that they can turn the tie around against Inter (and of course lift the La Liga trophy). But we must also recognise that if they do not turn it around then that is just how it goes sometimes. You can’t have it all your way. Keep calm and carry on. If they do manage to lift these two trophies at the end of the season they will cement their place in history. If not, then we move on to next season and all the triumphs and tribulations it brings. History is written over time and this team will not be overlooked or forgotten, that is for sure. We must remain behind this team that has given us so much already and their continued struggle for the perfect, beautiful and successful football. It will be difficult but together we can do it. Keep calm and carry on. |
