Facebook however helps connect you with people you know

On NAIRALAND you get info from other Nigerians, discuss on questions, debates and issues of other user of the site but on facebook you 've people you call friends ,who are strangers and that can be boring, so nairaland is better.

They serve different purposes entirely. FB is for social networking,NL is for discussions on various topics and issues.
Naturally, people prefer fun and funky places,FB has this more than NL.
Personally, if I'm asked to choose one of FB and NL, I'll go for NL because it makes my day more than FB.
With due respect, I know alot of people who will not join NL just because they are less intellectually inclined and can't argue or debate.They prefer fun-filled FB.
Conversely, some other people, especially the elderly and well-read, prefer FB to NL for that same reason-that is, NL is just full of young guys and gals that are too 'small' for them to engage in intellectual argument. This is why we have the likes of Pat Utomi,Bella Adenuga and some Senators on FB. I was surprised when i saw one Punch columnist, Joe Adeyeye, quote NL in one of his weekly articles.

By the way,I personally gain more from and so prefer NL to FB, but I know many Nigerians,by our nature(flashy,colourful etc), will prefer FB to NL.

well for some people like us thats into entertainment (Promotion, Events & Running a club) we found facebook very useful to target our potential clients/customers/members/clubbers weekly. At least these days it saves me a lot of money on flyer's all i need to do is create a group and send invite out to members and stuff.

Nairaland serve its purpose as well at least it keeps me closer to home and a great learning tool/forum

So I like both in diff. ways cus they serve diff. purpose.
