you ve all spoken well, as one of us as rightly said, nairaland is an educational site where you gain from others, though some ascribed it as an abusive site, yet is still the best as you discuss national issues and other relevant matters, matters arising so to say, but in face i hardly go there, for there is no room for discussion or where to share your opinion, in short is a pleasure site.
Long live nairaland

@Moses

if you want to start a discussion or pursue a cause on Facebook, just like you start a thread on Nairaland, you can start a group on Facebook.

I started about 3 groups on Facebook (Enyimba, Lagos, and Vote Reprudencia Sonkey as Miss Africa United States), I'm a moderator in 2 groups (Album Review, and Naija ADs), and I'm a member of about 50 other groups (sundays @ d bay, Nairalanders on Facebook, Taruwa, I watched NTA 2 Channel 5 when I was a kid, Light Up Nigeria, Naija MAC Users, Edo Girls are Hotttt, , and several more)

there's even a Facebook Group I'm in that is more than ten times larger than the entire Nairaland with more than 5 million members ( Feed A Child With Just One Click).

We post notes, have discussions, organize events, mobilize members, sponsor activities and have discussions.

There's a Facebook event of one of the groups am in, It's going down on Sunday (Sundays @ D Bay). Moses, if you attend Sundays at the Bay just once, you will sing Facebook praise and worship songs forever.

Most people just come on Facebook to post photos, status updates and leave. Then tomorrow, they say Facebook is boring. Can you even compare Mafia Wars with any of the games we play on any other website?

I don't know why people should get offended when someone says one website is a waste of time to them. There are times when all you want to do is watch time pass while you give yourself some form of activity to ameliorate the boredom. That's wasting time and I do that both on Nairaland and Facebook sometimes. So I don't see why insults should arise.

The only website I know so far why insults are so brazenly thrown at innocent bystanders and lies are blatantly upheld as truth, with moderators stealthily awaiting unsuspecting, rule abiding members of the forum for banning, that site is called NAIRALAND!

don't mind this ppl, even when yahoo groups used to be th bomb, most nigerian forums there were way more educative than NL and had better moderators in a long shot, no comparison not to talk of FB.

Re: Nairaland Versus Facebook by nex(m): 11:24am On Oct 24, 2009
And as expected, I got banned for saying what I said. Nairaland'll never change.

Facebook too much jare. In as much as I don't break the rules, nobody can ban me on Facebook. And as much as I'm continuously being banned on Nairaland for no offence whatsoever, it gives me much pleasure cos it just goes to prove what I say. YOU GET BANNED ON NAIRALAND FOR SAYING ANYTHING CONTRARY TO WHAT THE OWNER AND MODERATORS WANT TO BE SAID.

Nairaland, change O! change! Change so you can be like Facebook. Be democratic. I don't know how Nigerians can come on a website that practises dictatorship and discuss the democracy of their country Nigeria.

PITY.

PS: Ready to be banned jare. Peace.

nairaland is only good because you can get home based infotaiment but be warned niaraland can not compete with facebook.
Re: Nairaland Versus Facebook by Cosmicplc(m): 3:04pm On Oct 24, 2009
But why the comparism?

I think both FACEBOOK and NAIRALAND are great places to be. It shouldn’t be so.

Let just appreciates the fact that both sites have different purposes which gives us more options to freely express ourselves.

In that way, there will be no COMPARISM  shocked
