Unfortunately Gusau is even more willy, dodgy and crafty than Sarki Mukhtar Sarki Mukhtar was only protecting a prefered boss, Gusau has Presidential ambition Tell me who will be even more deadly The only good news here is that finally Jonathan has taken a decision and acted upon it. Only God knows how this plays out. |

From the little I know of the Military, Aliyu Gusau is well regarded in Intelligence circles(right from Gen.Buhari's era as Head of State). Leave politics out of this.Gusau is a crack intelligence officer and Jonathan could not have chosen a better NSA.As for Sarki Muktar, well dont know much of his Intelligence antecedents. Was Military Governor of Kaduna & Katsina states at one time (as Colonel), then headed the DMI perhaps, was Ambassador to Russia before OBJ recalled him as NSA. I'm only worried that Gusau having taken a shot at the presidency once, may be tainted with Polictics but lets see, |

Kratos007: That goes to tell you that there certain people who must rule Nigeria. The list has been the same since 1966. Danjuma et al are back, do not be surprised to see grand old Obj back in the saddle for the 3rd time somehow. |

One thing about Nigerian Leaders is that they are eco-friendly -they can be recycled From ministers, governors, senators e.t.c from one position to another damn,as if they are the only people-we should start looking for young people with fresh minds and fresh idea instead of being eco-friendly. |

Can anyone please tell me what educational qualifications Goodluck Jonathan possesses? I think this fool should stick to fishing and leave government. Even my son can teach him how to run Nigeria. How can he hire someone who performed woefully during his tenure as NSA. At this point in the time Jonathan should be considering the possibility of this crisis spreading all over the country as far as Lagos. He does not need a new NSA, he need a committee of security specialists. He should hire people from Internationally recognized security firms, this people will be able to train undercover officers who will infiltrate these fanatic sells and expose them before they wreck havoc. If this happened in the USA, homeland security would have appointed a new committee that will create a special unit to train undercover agents who will pretend to be Islamic fanatics. These individuals will be placed in jos to go undercover and infiltrate Boko Harams cells. What is the NSA going to do ? How does he matter in this situation? What we need is action and prevention, we need to prevent this violence from happening again. O GOD I am tired of all these shxt. Does anyone in the Nigerian Government have a brain Mr Dumb Azz Jonathan ,you and your stupid government should have a look at this website, maybe you will have a clue on what to do: http://www.ustraining.com/new/index.asp |

Mukhtar had to go but why , for god sake , has Jonathan chosen Gusau? Gusau is highly ambitious and he will no doubt use this powerful job to position himself in a favourable position to run for the Presidency in 2011. I really don't know what Jonathan is up to but it does not look good for Nigeria. First Danjuma and now Gusau. It appears , from these dubious choices , that Jonathan is consumed with survival rather than a desire to lead Nigeria progressively. What will we see next ? Bode George or Anenih as Ministers of key Ministries ? |
Re: Jonathan Removes National Security Adviser Sarki Mukhtar With Immediate Effect. by Nobody: 10:49pm On Mar 08, 2010 |
Gbawe: I think what we need to begin to assess is whether Jonathan is more interested in positioning himself to be VP to whoever emrges President in 2011. There is nothing wrong with that though but if that is the case Nigerians should get ready for a 2011 President approaching 70. My only concern is between now and the next handover. Jonathan should kindly run this country as it deserves or step aside for David Mark. |

anataala: And your point is? Many of us seem not to understand the difficult position jonathan finds himself now. When you have just 4 of the 36 governors on your side(this even excludes percieved southern progressives like fashola and mimiko), your geopolitical region contributes some of your strongest opposition, you are not from one of the three major tribes, your political party has publicly voiced its unfavourable position, the north sees you as an enemy and has sufficient numbers to pull an impeachment through. Then you will know that its not just the "aluta" approach that will see you through. When you fight a formidable IBB and traditional elements like the Emir that will come as far as to make inflamtory comments on the wrongdoing of the COAS. then you know that having the OBJs,Danjuma and Gusau on your side is not a bad idea afterall. Jonathan will definitely sack a lot of ministers very soon. The PAC is only a smokescreen , he knows those that have erred and will only validate his desires with a comprehensive report. This job is a very delicate hence only a fool will bank on support of faceless men here on NL, who show courage only from the comfort of anonymity. The job requires a proper blend of TACT,MIGHT AND MOST IMPORTANTLY MEEKNESS. |

naijaking1: NSA indeed! NSA for hiding security reports (with resultant effects of inaction) that would make peeps to accuse Jonny boy of not being in charge. 9ja peeps sef , if Jonny boy had appointed one General Akpanatai Isaac Udo-anang (rtd) as NSA, we would hav cried foul play :- oh, this guy is not known, dis guy is from a minority tribe - will he be able to handle the hausa/fulani hegemony in the military?, etc, etc!!; and i bet you, some dudes kicking against Gusau's appointment would hav even suggested he (Gusau) should have been the best candidate for the job. Me thinks this appointment is appropriate because of Gusau's clout. One should not expect Ag Presido to prop up untested hands wrt security intelligence at this moment because time is too short for him (Jonathan) |
