MikeZA: UP!!! To the west coast!!!!!.

While Nigeria is still struggling with pirates and terrorists, when you're done securing your land and waters. SA will be sending new SA built OPVs,consolidating our leadership.

Let's get this straight.

Nigeria has Africa's most Robust coastal surveillance system in place. Nigeria has also placed orders for an additional 6 surveillance planes.

Nigeria is not struggling to deal with pirates off our coast, we have effectively managed the issues of Piracy OFF Nigerian waters.

S.A is building no OPV's, you're too broke to carry out any procurements as revealed by your defence minister , plus you have that investigation going on. The only country building a stealth OPV in Africa is Nigeria.

Nigeria remains the only African leader.

Stunned by the entrance of the Ebola Virus Disease,
EVD, into America, the United States’ Center for
Disease Control and Prevention has despatched its
personnel to study how Nigeria contained the killer
disease.

US health officials are expected in Nigeria which it
claimed had the best practices in combating Ebola
Virus disease which entered into Nigeria through
Liberian born American citizen Mr. Patrick Sawyer
whose index case was reported on July 20, 2014.
Nigeria is expected to officially announce today that the remaining two potential Ebola patients will exit
the 21-day observation period.

First start by purchasing aviation fuel, until then, ZIP it.

"South Africa's once-effective air force has new aircraft but cannot afford the fuel and maintenance needed to keep them in the air. Despite this, one element of the air force that did see extensive time in the air was Squadron 21, charged with flying South African VIPs and government ministers. Former defense minister Lindiwe Sisilu booked 203 flights over three years in chartered luxury Gulfstream jets at an estimated cost of $4.5 million."

Why is this guy still arguing?

The valour class can sail all the way to Lagos and patrol for 1000miles and then sail home all on one tank of gas

Pirate interceptions will be done with helicopters

Valour class can be refueled by the Drakensberg if need be

This guy, he thinks his opinion can change the facts of the matter

Also - you don't have 12 frigate sized ships
Also- at the end he admits that the Nigerian Navy cannot match the SAN in terms of naval warfare

Augubug and his delusions of grandeur

Naval warfare, I will wait till Aradu completes refit, and NNS Centenary arrives, plus the new combat warship from Chinese navy.
Every navy in this world has it's time of re-armament, all South African navy warships were obsolete as at year 2005 until Valour frigate arrived 2006.

Yes again naval warfare? Where is the missile and submarine naval warfare going on if Africa today? The real naval warfare today is anti-piracy operations, South Africa has just realized that, so you decided to join our club after your missiles and submarines had no work to do since almost 10 years ago you bought them.

Anti-piracy is the real threat and according to your sources, South Africa is now feeling threatened because Angola is being attacked by pirates in your backyard. This is a war the mighty Nigerian navy has been fighting for over 10 years now and we are the masters of the game in Africa, no other navy comes close, not even Egypt.....welcome to our world where we have the perfect equipment and perfect experience, South African navy is the new baby that needs to learn how to walk now grin grin

Nope, helicopters are NOT maritime ocean interceptors, they are only for airborne insertion of troops when you catch the pirate.

Range of the Super Lynx on your frigate is only about 528 km, when you carry troops load, the range reduces by payload, then your helicopter needs fuel to return to your ship or it will drop dead into the sea with empty fuel tank. Means your helicopter cannot chase pirate beyond 200km range away from your ship landing pad ! How do you catch a pirate Angola informs you to be 500km away from where your frigate is ? Or you think pirates sail beside your ship so that when you need them you can catch them?

Drakensberg itself has only 15,000 km range and needs 10,000 km minimum to travel from Cape Town to Lagos, it must NOT leave that straight line route or else it will lose more fuel by trying to stay close to your frigates that are patrolling around in circles, you don't do maritime patrol in a straight line like your police do on the streets of Soweto, the sea is a massive area of 5 million square kilometers from Namibia to West Africa !

Drakensberg is pumping fuel to your frigate, she herself has to stay at sea for many days to give support, she needs fuel too and she will be pumping from storage tank to feed herself, how much fuel is in that supply tank? Does your Drakensberg ship carry an Oil Refinery on board? Give us details, I have given details of range of Nigerian ships and fast crafts, tell us how much fuel is in the 'Unlimited Oil Refinery' that you carry on your Drakensberg supply ship, facts and figures please grin grin

South African navy will regularly beg for diesel, not only in Angola, but also in Ghana and Nigeria !!

Nigeria has about 12 Frigate/Corvette sized ships that is what I said, not only frigates, buy corvette sized ships too, some ordered or received already. We saw the Corvette sizers in this years Exercise Obaganme sailing with Chinese navy in Lagos operations. Here is a list of 17 ships, not gunboats, I mean SHIPS !

NNS Thunder
NNS Okpabana
NNS Centenary I
NNS Centenary II
NNS Siri
NNS Ohue
NNS Erinomi
NNS Ekun
NNS Barama
NNS Anyam
NNS Damisa
NNS Ekpe
NNS Kyanwa
NNS Ologbo
NNS Nwamba
NNS Obula

I left out NNS Aradu until her refit is completed this year. That will be number 18 ship.

Nigeria has cloud penetrating satellites and long range ATR-42 Surveyors that can see the whole Gulf Of Guinea in 45 minutes, and NNS Thunder and NNS Okpabana have sea search radars with surveillance range of 500km. The radar on Valour frigate is only about 180km range, so how will you ever locate a pirate that Angola or Namibia radios to you to be 400km away from your shiny Valour frigate now turned into OPV overnight ?

[size=14pt]Big Question, We want Answer !
