Everything Nigeria Designs has a lesser range than its South African counterpart.

south african G6 artillery range is 75km built in 1987, but today 2013 america is still using Paladin artillery with range 24km same as nigerian palmaria artillery....that means south africa is wiser than america in war experience of weapons useful and effective range ? it tells you the s.tupidity of 75km range artillery in land warfare, thats why 99% of the world ignores your 75km range. grin

Let's be realistic OK?,If we invade you in your "home turf",that would be such an advantage for the SANDF cause we would make it difficult for you produce or fly in any weapon in Nigeria. Our defence companies would have a chance to example many of their prototype weapons in combat.

please go back to page 236 naval blockade post, south african navy ran away from nigerian coast because they saw the 'death trap' created by nigerian army there. no african country can invade nigeria through the waters. stop dreaming without being asleep. grin

Since you have a dinosaur brain,I will ask you this simple junior high school question: If Nigeria and South Africa were in a military show down, and the UN decided to slap both countries with sanctions or a arms ermbago which country will be able to produce quality weapons or systems to deal with the enemy?

nigeria can sustain a long war on its own despite any UN arms sale embargo.

Nigeria manufactures locally :

AK-47 rifles

GPMG heavy machine guns

RPG anti-armour weapons

Mortar

Air to Ground Rocket Pods

Bombs

Remote Control Bomb Detonating Robots

Spy Balloons

Land Drones USV

Air Drones UAV

Armoured Vehicles including APC and IFV with Gun and Missile capable versions

MRAPS

Navy Seaward Defence Vessels

America is planning to replace the Paladin with the NLOS system. Yes,South Africa's take on combat is different from America. We have less systems so losing some would be devastating. Remember one of the need for the G6 or G5,was a system that was able to destroy airfield in long ranges since our Air force couldn't bombard them cause the foe had many fighter jets. So South Africa has a unique way of operating(less support in long ranges). And America has shown much interest in Denel land systems' G7 105mm long range howitzer. America possess a lot of Bombers and fighters, which can take the role of bombing targets in long ranges, and Nigeria doesn't. Nigeria buys international systems that require a lot of support in the battle field, this systems are suitable for well developed countries not for the African battle field. So ranges matters in Africa, our countries are not that rich to massively support their armies,in long ranges South Africa learned this during the Bush war,Nigeria still has to. GET IT? Now scream "Chineke ooo" and past out.

Let's compare then. South Africa produced the SAS Drakensburg, you might remember this supply warship, cause in 2010 it certainly appeared in "your area of influence" during the Ivory coast civil war,South Africa was flexing a military muscle in your face and letting you know who wears pants on the continent. Our ship yards have just finished upgrades on the SAS Galeshwe. Nigeria has the "upgrading capabilty" while SA has the "upgrade and building capability". Stick to "Nigeria armed forces can fight better than the SANDF,cause when it comes upgrading and designing weapons we are in a higher league than you.

A country needs to produce weapons fit for the area it will operate. so buying international weapons which were designed to operate in Europe, might backfire in the African battlefield.

It was absorbed to Durban shipyards. If we wanted to sea blockade Nigeria,a single super evasive submarine would do. Nigeria has less or no anti_submarine warfare capability. We evaded NATO warships, whom have a huge experience in anti_submarine warfare. What can your used American warships do,that NATO failed to do?

You South Africans like to feel good about nothing! What difference does your "warship" make amongst other fishing boats when your spineless SANDF soldiers could not dare to step boots on Ivorien shores? Meanwhile Nigeria as usual was busy calling the diplomatic shots on the ECOWAS and UN levels and applying necessary pressures on Gbagbo to hand power to the duly elected President Alassane Ouattara. Nigeria's recognition of President Ouattara's election contrasts with South Africa's support for defeated Mr. Gbagbo.

Curiously, while South Africa continues to proudly support tyrants/dictators (Gbagbo and Ghaddafi) on the continent, clearly Nigeria has continued to make the right moves in the interest of democracy. Nigeria has where/when necessary deployed our military might to ensure stability in areas of conflict and instability on the continent. So far we have not failed or lost our missions!!

Poor SANDF ... more practice with Seleka will make them perfect someday!

Mr. Mike..ZA kindly tell us the main mission of the ship to Ivory Coast?

And your "eye raising" weapons have not won South Africa and SANDF any wars even against such rag-tag and lowly rebel fighters like Seleka. No doubt your troops will need "beauty eye-liners" to nicely model their weapons in front of Seleka "cameras" while our soldiers train their eyes on enemy targets with weapons proudly made for them by them!

Our weapon manufacturing and use is internally focused. That's how we roll!

Deployment?,SA has proven that in the Bush war. You can't run a war in a foreign country without, massive supplies. Your 66666666666666 guns won't be having any Italian made rounds. GET IT? I know you get it,you probably screaming "CHINEKE 000!!!!!" now LOL.

sorry you used the wrong scenario as example. we have been involved in conflicts even before independence till 2013, so we can give you examples of our capabilities till date.

i can bet that 90% of men that fought during the bush war are now retired or acting as advisers.

we are talking of SANDF of today that is a mixture of ex militants that became senior officers. thereby bringing their unprofessional and below par method of running your military. proof is CAR where you were too scared to retaliate grin grin grin... i trust 9ja for that one. cos we know what would have happened.

SANDF of now is the dead version of SADF, and no matter the weapons you build, it is the ability of the men to use them that counts. even kenya will wipe SANDF with ease. grin grin grin grin grin grin

nigerian army sagaie armourded vehicle does not have to face south african rooikat in combat. weapons dont go looking for counterpart in battlefield like a bachelor looking for his soulmate.
