agaugust:Yes, Kabila drove to Goma about two or one month ago in a light toyota land cruiser. LOL it even got stuck at along the way, many Rwandan journalists made fun for the situation which was captured on camera. Photos of the stuck vehicle in pool dirty water+mud were spread on Twitter...........The car was hit by a rocket, even a MRAP wouldn't have survived. I don't think he would've accepted to drive around in a MRAP by way,Mamadou Ndala was always with his men exposed to the dangers they were exposed to too. |

Mike..ZA: South African artillery is all obsolete excluding the G6...only 46 units. Lol !!! |

agaugust: Uganda threatens to attack South Sudan coup plotter/rebels unless they agree to cease fire and peace talks in Ethiopia. My African brother Ugandan troops are rumoured to protecting Juba. While some military journalists claim those planes bombed targets in South Sudan. The "white army" would beg for mercy if Kenyan attack helos would be deployed. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 6:40pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
Mike..ZA: did Kabila have only 3 men as escorts too ? if so, then all Congolese are fools. no wonder tiny Rwanda is oppressing them . Lol !!! |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 6:42pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
agaugust:The G6 is the G5 on a OMC chassis. The G5 is not obsolete cause Denel constantly develops it. The G7 is obsolete? It is Better than all Nigerian howitzers. |

agaugust: It shows and proves that you know nothing about military. Unless your pilots want to risk their early graves they can challenge stealth warships. Do you know that it is not easy for any plane to manuevre IR missiles? Those missiles when they kick out they come to you with a speed of a lightning and your plane will glow the sky as if is a new year festival. |

Mike..ZA: If south africa buys more weapons with your usual bank loans, what do you think nigeria will buy ? potatoes and eggs ? |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 6:46pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
agaugust:No,neither did Mamadou. Some of his men were rushed to hospital with the "technicals" in his convoy, before the video was taken. His vehicle singled out: strike by rocket followed by automatic weapons. People who spoke to his bodyguard say the claim the rocket came from the right and the attackers wore old FARDC uniforms. The people who assassinated him had some good intel. |

Fighter Pilot: old and second hand equipment like Cobra, VBL, BTR-3U, ATR-42 Surveyor, PL-9C missiles, Bofors Artillery, Sandcat MRAP, Stealth warships Type 056, Shaldag super gun boats, spy satellites, spy balloons, Mi-35 Hind....Lol !!! . |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 6:51pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
Mike..ZA: You have to take into account cost of MRAPs in relation to the budgets of these countries. How about the fact that MRAP's are diesel intensive and are not cost effective to run. Ofcourse the leopard ACB cannot handle RPG fire, but it provides considerable protection and speed at least 1/7 the cost of traditional MRAP's. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 6:53pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
agaugust: My friend, i will recommend you to any airforce training college and ask if is adviceable to attack warships fully loaded with SAM's using fighter jets. Your fighter jets will soon glow the skies as if is new year festival. Even the most experienced US Airforce pilots will never risk such a stu.pid approach. Most modern warships are as well equipped with electronic warfare defence system which interfer with the operation of jets. |

agaugust: There is one thing you really do not understand about the difference between financing and loans. Banks do not finance countries with smaller budgets yet bigger population like yours. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:13pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
agaugust:Mamba is better than the Cobra and the VBL. The Ratel is better than the BTR-3U in the African environment,it can even carry water for long "trips". The MI-35 hind is not any close to the super hind(Not operated by the SANDF) and Rooivalk. Bofors 48 vs G5 75 the same class but which army can find targets?.....Nigeria has no stealth vessel the small corvette vessels currently being built won't have larger space to fit deadly weapons. And won't measured up against the valour frigatse. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:24pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
Henry120:"People" are saying it is a Bazooka like rocket. South Africa develops or has developed light armoured vehicles which are cheap. Besides poor countries can negotiate with countries like SA to sell them ex-SADF vehicles. Even the Buffel can be effective in GPMG protection. Even with MRAPS ambushes are ambushes like one who was close to Colonel Ndala said:"It is called ambush because you're less if not prepared against it". |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:27pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
agaugust:Nigeria won't buy anything. Remember it is 2014 training A-Darter missiles might be getting delivered to the SAAF as we speak. TOTAL AIR SUPERIORITY OVER NIGERIA. |

agaugust:obsolete That's your A.sh dickhead. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:49pm On Jan 03, 2014 |
agaugust:The Bofors can match the G6? 1. It is not self propelled meaning its "shoot and scoot" tactics are limited. It crew is not protected against shrapnel in a counter battery situation by the G6. 2. It relies on gun tractors to pull it around the battlefield which can be easily located 3. Its targeting will be limited due to lack of drones, multi role fighter jets and advanced artillery observation systems............The SANDF has the G7 105mm howitzer+the G4 in its reserves. This guns are way advanced than any Nigerian light artillery. That palmaria has a range of 25km plus its mobility would limited in Desert or bush African environment. It will need tons of trucks in order for it to keep up with motorised infantry and tanks. OUTCLASSED.............Mechanised SANDF troops always fight under the watchful eye of the Rooivalk. And constant reccon and bombing by the Hawks and Gripens |

You SA guys amaze me with how you labour so hard to promote yourselves as eediots. It is funny how you never see anything good about Nigeria, yet you want your country to be respected. the latest being someone saying that in case of eventuality, SA will divert resources into war efforts and Nigeria won't be able to procure loans, isn't that a doltish thing to think or say ? The most resent resemblance of such situation with a foreign country was in 2003 just before the release of World Court judgement on Bakassi, when tension was high, Nigerian president requested for initial 50bn naita from National Assembly to start with which was speedily granted and told to forward a projection for subsequent requirements. Internal sources confirmed that ambassadors flooded Aso Rock that night along with arms manufacturers and dealers from their countries hoping to cut deals, also were lending bodies agents ! Guys, we know Nigeria is presently under-representing in most facets, but it can very fatal error to continue to reason about her as you SA guys have done so far. I sincerely hope that your government and military strategists don't reason like you guys. 2 Likes |

I sincerely hope that your government and military strategists don't reason like you guys.Every country has its place. South Africa is above Nigeria. SA's defence industry has for long produced weapons with performance in mind first not towards international sells. That's why many weapons that were used in Angola are still being used today and highly effect example being the Husky vehicle. What I'm trying to tell you is that whether Nigeria purchases more advanced weapons without a defence industry to back your military in terms of servicing, maintains, further development of systems and repair. Your country will never be compared militarily to SA. |

Fighter Pilot: you need a very technical and world class counter-combat analysis to knock out that NAF vs SAN simulation on page 806. https://www.nairaland.com/415620/strongest-military-africa/806 the worst nightmare of modern warships is saturation attack by enemy aircraft that wastes every ship's anti-aircraft missiles, from world war II 1939 to Falkland war 1982, the story has not changed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUZu8bvxJs4 south africa has no aircraft carrier to give air cover to its warships on high seas. your navy can be defeated away from home. ordinary words wont win you a war, let me see you fight ! .

Fighter Pilot: Ordinary Seleka 1965 vintage firepower intimidated south african army to leave CAR and never return again. Your navy should have refused to leave Ivory Coast and wait for a visit by NNS ARADU's Otomat anti-ship missile with 180km super long range . |
