They will say that before a budget speech... because guess what they want more money,

Think about this for a second.

Our Army is 70 000 strong (professionals only)

Yours is 130 000 strong

We spend double what you do

And yet we feel that we cannot maintain the standards we expect with that budget.

What does that say about your military?

Defense budget N968.127 billion that's $6 billion
likely to go up
Read:

Finance minister on defence
spendings
Abuja – The Minister of Finance,
Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on
Friday said the Federal
Government disbursed N130.7
billion to the defence sector from
January to April.
Okonjo-Iweala made this known
while briefing newsmen during
breakdown of the 2014 budget
signed by the President
Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
She said: “Defence spending is
top in everything; you know that
military establishment need new
things to assist them in their
work and ours will not be
different.
“No budget will be enough to
meet their demands but for now,
I think the sector takes almost a
trillion of the budgets.
“To be specific, they have about
N968.127 billion and we have
disbursed N130.7 billion
between January and April
2014,’’ she said

20km is longer than the range of your SAM's. Meaning we can kill your SAM facilities from safety. We also have long range artillery and rocket batteries.

So, its the definition of a stand-off munition.

slowpoke.

Stand-off munitions are guided weapons that home on precise target. Ordinary free fall artillery shells are NOT defined as stand off munition.

Dumbo domingo grin grin

Nigeria has land based Type 90 guns that is built to sh.oot down missiles and bombs, we also have H/PJ 17 CIWS guns on our F91 stealth warships to shoot down missiles and bombs.

SANDF should go test it's missiles and bombs on Botswana, that is where it can work.

Show me where he said we are 66 years behind Nigeria.

And airframe is 66 years old

It does not mean the equipment in it is 66 years old.

Filthy liar.

Your own air force chief confessed openly like w.itches and w.izards that his SAAF flies 66 year old Dakota aircraft as MPA and was crying bitter agonizing tears to buy Nigerian air force's current 2014 level of ATR-42 Surveyor MPA and Beechcraft 350 ER aircraft.

That simply means South Africa is 66 years behind Nigeria in MPA/ISTAR warfare....SANDF will wait till 2014 + 66 = year 2080 to reach Nigeria's level.

FACT !

You are a fraudster. South African army is only 39,000 men active and 12,000 men reserve. Numbers will be less by new retrenchment, soon your weak army will get weaker and shrink smaller to Cameroon's size.

Well, I need to inform you that Nigeria is the only country in sub-saharan Africa with the bigger/stretched version C-130 Hercules transport planes.

We also have many other NAF transport aircraft like Dornier 228 and Aliena G-222.

There is NO weapon/equipment in South Africa that Nigeria does not have an answer to. Go and boast to Lesotho-Burundi.

So, SAAF is a rag-tag air force with donated rag-tag American second hand half used C-130 Hercules....NAF gets Naija brand new C-130s

.. Don't forget a large percentage of the South African military have HIV which lowers the immune system to critical levels, so if they were to ever stop posing for fancy photos and end up in an actual war many of them would die of simple illnesses such as the common cold, malaria, snake and insect bites and if they get wounded in battle there is a very little chance they would be able to survive, their military is nothing but a joke.

The whole world pity you because of the rag tag army you possess. The superpowers have vowed to help you because you are as weak as a baby. You are undoubtedly not equal to a task when it comes to protecting your own citizens, you have failed at every aspect. Failure is written all over your faces.

South Africans let us stop entertaining this so called imaginary strong Nigerian force which failed to prove itself to their critiques to the extent that we all in the whole world went down in tears, sobbing for defenseless citizens of northern Nigeria. Nigeria has a weak army, that's my final statement, same as that of US generals and Obama, Ugandan president, prime minister of UK, and many experts across the world. That's a shame, seeing the force claimed to be the strongest in Africa being humbled and outsmarted by just mere amateurs right on their backyard where they are supposed to have projected their power. Where all their equipments, hardware and personnel are based. Where they do not need any logistical support to transport their force and arms to another country. Shame!!! Book Haram has hung the whole uniform of Nigerian military on the tree for all to see, no wonder they want to change their already disgraced uniform. Shame!!!!

As of 2012 in Nigeria, the HIV prevalence rate among adults ages 15–49 was 3.1 percent.[1] Nigeria has the second-largest number of people living with HIV.[2] The HIV epidemic in Nigeria is complex and varies widely by region. In some states, the epidemic is more concentrated and driven by high-risk behaviors, while other states have more generalized epidemics that are sustained primarily by multiple sexual partnerships in the general population. Youth and young adults in Nigeria are particularly vulnerable to HIV, with young women at higher risk than young men. There are many risk factors that contribute to the spread of HIV, including prostitution, high-risk practices among itinerant workers, high prevalence of sexually transmitted infections (STI), clandestine high-risk heterosexual and homosexual practices, international trafficking of women, and irregular blood screening.

A study of returning Nigerian soldiers, conducted by the Civil Military Alliance to combat HIV/AIDS (CMA), found that rates of infection were double than that of Nigeria’s civilian population. Statistics in Cameroon point similarly to a clear difference between infection rates between civilian and armed forces. Here it is claimed that the civilian HIV rate in 2004 was around 5.6%, while armed forces were close to 15%. However, police recruits were 16.4% and truckers were found to be 18%[9]. As these statistics demonstrate once more, an uncritical approach towards statistics could easily conclude, in this case, that joining the army means a high probability of contracting HIV.

The military has retracted its statements twice.
The Nigerian Military on Wednesday said the soldier earlier declared missing after an Air Force helicopter crashed in Borno State, has been found alive.
The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, Mi-35 helicopter, said to have been on a training mission, crashed Monday afternoon at a location south of Bama, an area ravaged by Boko Haram insurgents.
Shortly after the incident, the military, through its spokesperson, Chris Olukolade, said all the occupants of the ill-fated helicopter died.
However, in a statement later on Wednesday, Mr. Olukolade, a Major General, said one of the pilots was recovered alive while the second, as well as the technician, on board the 3-member crew flight died.
In the second statement, Mr. Olukolade retracted, saying that only one body had been found.
“The body of the technician who is the third member of the crew is yet to be located. He is therefore declared Missing in Action until found,” Mr. Olukolade had said.
He also said the crash was as a result of some technical fault and not an attack by an enemy, adding that rescue mission was ongoing.
But while giving update on the rescue efforts, Mr. Olukolade made a u-turn to an earlier statement in which an engineer crew on the ill-fated flight was declared missing.
A recent statement signed by Mr. Olukolade stated, “The Engineer crew member of the crashed Nigerian Air Force Mi-35 Helicopter earlier declared missing has been found alive.
“The crew member who was declared missing when his body could not be located in the vicinity of the crash resurfaced at the military Headquarters in Maiduguri today, having trekked through the bushes after the crash.”
The statement further confirmed that the co-pilot, Flight Lieutenant NM Halilu, and the aircraft technician, Warrant Officer Augustine Nwanonenyi, survived the crash while Flight Lieutenant Onyeka Nwakile was lost in the crash.
