Re: Igbos come show your proverbs skills by Kashif(m): 5:02pm On Aug 20, 2008 |
echelon: Hmmmmmm, E nwere m ntakiri ntunye na nkea. SECURE = Nchekwa/Nchedo/Mkpuchi PASSWORD = Okwu Igodo (Key is called Igodo in Igbo language so, permit me to translate 'pass' as 'key') AUTHENTICATION = Ntule (Nnyocha could pass for VERIFICATION) So lets analys that phrase "SECURE PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION". We will agree that the main process here is to authenticate the password. However, the ambiguity arises if you discreetly want to know what is secure. Is it the PASSWORD or the PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION? Let us assume (from Echelon's interpretation), that it is the PASSWORD that is SECURE. (Sorry for the 'unnecessary' details). So we should have something like this: Ntule Igodo Okwu echekwara echekwa. It is possible I am wrong. Umu nna, O bu ihe mere ede o ji bee nwii. Udo diri unu nile. |
Re: Igbos come show your proverbs skills by echelon(m): 5:12pm On Aug 20, 2008 |
Deeje! Maazi Kashif I agree with your translation but for "Igodo okwu" - your translation for "password". My objective while translating was to make sure that if a back-translation is made, the original english meaning would not be lost. Translating "Igodo okwu" back to english gives something like "keyword" and the original meaning "password" would be lost. That is why I chose "akara nnabata". "Nnabata" alone shows it has to do with controlled access which is the essence of a password. Jidekwa ka I ji ![]() |
