Park: I must improve

Despite helping navigate United to a historic 1-0 win over Valencia in the Champions League, only the club’s second on Spanish soil in 19 attempts, Ji-sung Park is not happy.

The South Korea captain was brutally honest when reflecting upon his own performance at the Mestalla Stadium, yet is adamant he can turn his frown upside down with plenty of hard graft on the training pitch.

“I am not satisfied with my performances this season.” Park told MUTV: “I have to improve. I have to show more on the pitch. Particularly in the first-half my performance was bad. The second-half was better.

“I don't know why my performances have not been good. Maybe I was not ready for the season. I am still looking forward to the future. I have to show I can do better.”

He added: “Mentally I have been weak. But I missed a couple of games and then played again. It is always difficult to balance the performance. But since I joined Manchester United it has been like that. I know how to deal with that. I have to improve.”

Y'all must be feeling rather justified about the clean sheet and your result at the Mestalla i'm guessing but we both know if Valencia had a decent finisher the result may have been different

@A-40,
No hard feelings,meyn.
The earlier one gets away from these modern-day slave-drivers called employers, the better for us all. . .I can give you a thread full of experiences with them, but you already know the story.
As per the Mestalla game, you're partly right in the sense that if Valencia had a sharper attack, they might have scored, but you're not remembering that we defended pretty well.I don't think I'd say I'm justified at the clean sheet:it's just that I felt someone like Rafael has lots more to offer than JOS already has given. It's about time the youngster be allowed to grow, and I feel he has learnt from the Bayern game last season. The dude is a great full back.
On the flip-side,Evra looks burnt out.I have to admit it.He is looking distinctively dishevelled. He is looking like used toilet paper right now.

Dam.N
Bring back Sauron. If it's true he's been banned (which I don't believe), then y'all should free the guy.I personally believe it's his Mum who has forbidden him from posting. That's the only person I know who can bring that n@#$% under some control.
Make we go beg im mama o!!!

I just hope to see Rafa, Nani, Berba, Rio against Sunderland.
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by jaybee3(m): 10:30am On Oct 01, 2010
I wouldn't mind having Ando in the midfield. We need pace and power against sunderland
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by Nobody: 12:37pm On Oct 01, 2010
Sunderland will be physical.Personally,Ando might need a few more games to catch up,I feel.I don't forsee FErgie starting with a 3 man midfield middle,so I think he'll come off the bench if need be.I fear Carrick and Fletcher will start. That will hand the initiative to someone like Catermole in the middle who is extremely physical. . .
My thoughts though. . .
But yeah,tkb,I guess you;re right:Rio,Rafa should start at the back. . .
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by jaybee3(m): 1:01pm On Oct 01, 2010
We need to pack the midfield with just one (Ando)supporting berbatov. nani on the right and park left.
If we go with the intention of dominating sunderland then we simply going to be undone.
We keep it tight and nick the odd goal. We can't be open until we get all our players fit and banging in 'em goals
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by FBS: 1:17pm On Oct 01, 2010

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by FBS: 1:21pm On Oct 01, 2010
^^^ Which one of them?
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by jaybee3(m): 1:39pm On Oct 01, 2010
I have already answered ur question in relation to D Bent
As for Gyan, vidic will pocket him all day simply because they match up well in the heading department.

What do I care how your back line looked like or you want to tell me Evans no longer plays for Manure?

chamotex:

If you watched closely last night . . . you would see that the young lad isn't fit yet after all the niggling injuries and sickness he's had at the start of the campaign.

He pulled up with CRAMP about an hour into the game and was later subbed when he couldn't run it off.
When he gets himself fully fit . . . he WILL play most games - fact!

That's incorrect. . .he got subbed in the 90th minute. Check here

If he isn't fit yet and he was that effective for all of 90 minutes at the back, the thought of a fully fit Rafael is mouth-watering.
You'd never guess he had any fitness issues 'cos he defended beautifully.

I miss Valencia. And Tkb's right. . .when Scholes and Giggs are absent, the midfield lacks creativity.
What little creativity exists comes from Nani and Valencia. With Valencia gone, it's just Nani now.
And therez only so much one man can do. . .hez not in Fab's level just yet. grin

@Rikkyjen
As Dayo has shown you, if Sauron wants to come back on Sports, he will. Dude doesn't feel like it just yet.
Rinus Michels is even doing very well on the Nairaland Fantasy Premier league table. grin
Dude is hale and hearty. . .ask TKB. grin

Cristalz:

That's incorrect. . .he got subbed in the 90th minute. Check here

Read what I typed after that.

He pulled up with CRAMP about an hour into the game and was later subbed when he couldn't run it off

The CRAMP started just around the hour mark but he kept on playing until later when he got subbed.
When he regains his match fitness . . . he will play most games.

Cristalz:

If he isn't fit yet and he was that effective for all of 90 minutes at the back, the thought of a fully fit Rafael is mouth-watering.
You'd never guess he had any fitness issues 'cos he defended beautifully.

Yep . . . he did fantastic.
But risking a player that isn't fully fit can result to more injuries.
I hope he has recovered to play against Sunderland
Knnowing Fergie, he might not play him tomorrow just the same way he's not risking Rooney who trained yesterday and wants to play.
He also said he hasn't made a decision on Rio yet because he doesn't want him playing 2 games in 4 days yet.
Fergie can be too protective sometimes. angry angry angry
