Are people really that naïve to think overhauling an entire country's "Homeland Security System" can be done in the blink of eye? I believe they have to be or they wouldn't be saying things like "why can't we train our own SSS to do it instead of bringing the FBI". So what. . .the investigation should stop until the Nigerian SSS is capable of conducting it? Oh yeah a lot of sense that makes.

I fail to see how having the American FBI help in this matter makes Nigeria look any worse than they already make themselves. In my opinion, seeking help probably one of the admirable thing they've done in this situation. At least they admit they have a problem, instead of burying their heads in the sand.

Seeking outside help is an immediate short term solution, while training the SSS is a long term solution and there's nothing in the books that says both solution can be undertaken concurrently.

Oladiran I do not say that education is forbidden. Bottom line is Nigeria has absolutely no security.

It is important to have the FBI , and especially Mossad on the ground, to assist with not just resolving the current spate of bombing , but to put in place preventative measures against future plots.


Summarily whether we like it or not the entire world is facing a global threat of mass murder through bombings and mumbai style attacks.

Look at India for example, their response to the terrorist attacks was to say the least shambolic, of course the FBI moved in to help and the Indians humbly allowed them with no complaints whatsoever.

Even the UK that suffered over 40 deaths in the 7/7 attacks had to work with the FBI to investigate.

What on earth is the matter with Nigerians  and our misplaced pride 

We are proud about this and proud about that , and yet in reality so hollow when it comes to the actualisation of our dreams and expectations.

Very very correct. Thank God they are here to help. The only problem is that they will fustrated like hell. Best case scenario is they will know how the bomb was made but who acually planted it would be a tough call. Nigeria keeps no records of it's citizens and visitors so how can they trace anything? we live in a country where there is no data for effective tracking/investigation. Module of a real jungle environment.

Nigeria is a sovereign nation indeed, lol Where they sovereign when people from Niger and Chad were trooping to set up Boko Horam cells? Were they sovereign, when Islamic fundamentalists were targetting Nigerians and setting up Al-queda cells in the north?

Did anyone complain? Now that it has grown into this bombing saga, people are complaining that America and FBI want to assist. Truth is, they probabaly have more kniwledge and information on Nigerian extreneist activities on Nigerian soil than any Nigerian security agency.

They definately have more expertise and equipment for anti-terrorism. When they arrested Mr. Nigerian "underpants bomber", they got him to give informatin, when we had the LEADER of this same Boko Horam, we killed him and let him die probably without extracting useful information. The 400 Boko Horam that were busted out of jail at the beginning of October shows clearly that we cant do this on our own at all.

We NEED their assistance, that is quite clear.
