What I always ask is this. Where were these government agencies when all these "illegal structures" were being erected?

Approval or no approval, why were they allowed to build in the first place?

You cant see someone committing a crime.and turn a blind eye only to later come to enforce the law

LASG officials do turn up to stop the building of such structures

But many people believe they can bribe their way through anything so instead of going to build somewhere else they continue building and giving bribes until they dig themselves into big problems

They've all been forewarned...!

However, what exactly do these government agencies tasked with surveys and building inspections do all day and all year round?!!

How come these illegal structures fly up and get established right under their watch?!!

This means there is a lot of complicity on their part.

These structures didn't appear overnight!

very valid point. the government always likes going after the property owners but does very little to punish the omoniles and property companies (estate owners) that are at the centre of this fraud

if they cant bribe their way thru after developing the property, why would they be able to bribe their way thru when developing the property?

what stops the LASG officials that turn up to stop the building of the structures from actually stopping the building of the structures?

Bro, we Nigerians know what we are doing. I can tell you for free that most of these Guys were at one point or the other told by one Friend/Relative/Lawyer/Surveyor/Real Estate specialist the right thing to do, but they ignored just because they don't want to pay small small fees here and there.

So it is the government’s fault for not stopping them from committing a crime? What a blaming mentality mindset.
Someone build on your property without taking permission from you and now it’s your fault for allowing someone to intrude on your property?
Just think next time before writing.

As a tradional man, build two properties in your state of origin first. One commercial and one residential. And if you are not from your state capital, you need a third one in your village. Then you can look for safe property to buy in your state of residence. As for me, I prefer pay rent in a prime area as I normally travel to my country home every weekend to enjoy nature. I can't tie down hundreds of millions or even billions that I am supposed to use to enjoy life on properties(Cash is king). Life is for the living. This life na update. See Dangote crying while I am here receiving massage from a beautiful 22 year old.
