@cheikh
Yeah man we need to revolt around Africa from puppet leaders like the Arabs did.

THe situation in the congo is not really inter tribal wars. It is rwandan and Ugandan forces killing innocent people and causing hell. Watch things from Keith Harmon snow, he is telling the truth about Congo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1U28joj6d1A

The situation in the congo honestly makes me hate this world we live in. THose evil people funding this just makes me so sad. A bunch of civilian who just want to live a good life. Also how the AU isn't doing anything about it (not that I know of).

Africans always pray to god but what has God done for Africans? Too busy praying to solve our problems. There was a Nigerian purse praying tro Jesus to save her patient. smh

cheikh - the west are the problem there is no getting away from that, you can not even talk about developing your economy if they are the ones controlling your every move - look at nigeria - its totally under the control of washington and london - any attempt by nigeria to move away from the structural adjustment economic programmes  will result in nigeria being destroyed just like libya was.

the west are responsible for the kind of leadership we have - who do you think provides nigeria with military aid and training?

YOu are not looking at the situation from the correct angle - our so called leaders could not be where they are today without the support of the west, this problem did not start today - it started 51 years ago when the british handed power to the hausa fulani oligarchy - our salvation would have come if those young igbo majors had succeeded with their coup because those men were nationalists and they understood that the british had merely handed power to their northern puppets.  well you know the rest of the story the british were not going to allow their puppets to be removed without a fight hence their funding and arming of their northern stooges.

with regard to the Congo - you must look at the history of that country - Lumumba tried to wrest control of his country away from the belgians and was murdered brutally by the CIA, it is difficult to stand up to these people if you are unaware of how they operate.

Mobutu was kept in power for 32  years by the americans and when they got tired of him they organised an invasion of the country by Rwandan and Ugandan troops and replaced him with Laurent Kabila, when Kabila fell out with some powerful israeli mining interests - he ended up being assassinated
One thing you must understand is that almost every single resource rich country in africa is under western control.

DRC is  controlled by powerful israeli, american and belgian mining interests  - these powerful interests are using the rwandan and ugandan troops as their personal mercenaries - you say its easy to blame the white man for all of this - again i say to you the white man is a100% culpable because he is the one who arms, trains and funds these troops and keeps the country in a state of perpetual chaos - it is in the interest of the western mining interests to keep congo in a continuous state of destabilisation to enable multinational corporations like Sony, Panasonic, De beers and many others easy access to the mineral resources.  the only way any of this will stop is if these countries are able to defend themselves from these western aggressors.

the only way out is by way of armed  revolution - every nation that has been able to escape western domination did so by way of armed  revolution - china, vietnam, cuba, iran - the people of these countries all waged war against the corrupt western backed puppets.

here is an american journalist explaining how the US sent in their kenyan puppet troops to somalia to continue the destabilisation of the country, this is how the US operates - they use african proxy armies to fight resource wars for them this is the same thing they are doing in DRC - using rwandan and ugandan troops.  The US govt are planning this for the entire continent.

@^^ Hence I said in my previous post that the problem of the DRC(Congo) is her very mind boggling abundant natural resources/wealth.
The DRC is the size of Western Europe and a very difficult/large terrain to police or effect any semblance of authority. The size alone will humble anyone as there are practically no viable roads outside the cities. Mobutu was extremely narcissistic.

The DRC did not exactly help matters when they tacitly allowed the murderous Rwandan killers 'safe haven', bearing in mind that some Rwandan ethnic groups(Tutsi) etc, actually belong to the DRC. The enormous natural wealth of the place is very attractive even to the devil/saint. The ready excuse for invasion by the Angolans, Zimbabwe, Uganda and out of necessity Rwanda is very tempting indeed. Besides, those countries helped in the overthrow of Mobutu so there's always a pay back of course. Did Nigeria not interfere in the tiny enclave of Equatorial Guinea because of OIL and Investment Interests by our trigger happy ruling elite(OBJ)?
The DRC story/reality is very sad and terrible indeed. Nevertheless, the people are a jolly bunch and qualified manpower is very lacking.

america's systematic ra.pe of DRC:

Western multinational corporations’ attempts to cash in on the wealth of Congo’s resources have resulted in what many have called “Africa’s first world war,” claiming the lives of over 3 million people. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been labeled “the richest patch of earth on the planet.” The valuable abundance of minerals and resources in the DRC has made it the target of attacks from U.S.-supported neighboring African countries Uganda and Rwanda.

The DRC is minerial rich with millions of tons of diamonds, copper, cobalt, zinc, manganese, uranium, niobium, and tantalum also known as coltan. Coltan has become an increasingly valuable resource to American corporations. Coltan is used to make mobile phones, night vision goggles, fiber optics, and capacitators used to maintain the electrical charge in computer chips. In December of 2000 the shortage of coltan was the main reason that the popular sale of the Sony Play Station 2 video game came to an abrupt halt.

The DRC holds 80% of the world’s coltan reserves, more than 60% of the world’s cobalt and is the world’s largest supplier of high-grade copper. With these minerals playing a major part in maintaining US military dominance and economic growth, minerals in the Congo are deemed vital US interests.

Historically, the U.S. government identified sources of materials in Third World countries, and then encouraged U.S. corporations to invest in and facilitate their production. Dating back to the mid-1960s, the U.S. government literally installed the dictatorship of Mobutu Sese Seko, which gave U.S. corporations access to the Congo’s minerals for more than 30 years. However, over the years Mobutu began to limit access by Western corporations, and to control the distribution of resources. In 1998, U.S. military-trained leaders of Rwanda and Uganda invaded the mineral-rich areas of the Congo. The invaders installed illegal colonial-style governments which continue to receive millions of dollars in arms and military training from the United States. Our government and a $5 million Citibank loan maintains the rebel presence in the Congo. Their control of mineral rich areas allows western corporations, such as American Mineral Fields, to illegally mine. Rwandan and Ugandan control over this area is beneficial for both governments and for the corporations that continue to exploit the Congo’s natural wealth.

American Mineral Fields (AMF) landed exclusive exploration rights to an estimated 1.4 million tons of copper and 270,000 tons of cobalt. San Francisco based engineering firm Bechtel Inc. established strong ties in the rebel zones as well. Bechtel drew up an inventory of the Congo’s mineral resources free of charge, and also paid for NASA satellite studies of the country for infared maps of its minerals. Bechtel estimates that the DRC’s mineral ores alone are worth $157 billion dollars. Through coltan production, the Rwandans and their allies are bringing in $20 million revenue a month. Rwanda’s diamond exports went from 166 carats in 1998 to 30,500 in 2000. Uganda’s diamond exports jumped from approximately 1,500 carats to about 11,300. The final destination for many of these minerals is the U.S.

Your last post about the mineral prospectors/ contractors etc in the DRC
.

@ ^ Well, what's new? People actually make money during war times and in War zones too. It's so easy, attractive and very tempting to the 'Saints' amongst our people let alone foreigners who have no emotional link to the DRC. I actually know some characters who helped sign away some of the so called contracts etc in Katanga and other places near that area. It's no different from our own OIL industry with all manner of subterfuge - bunkering, sale of oil blocks etc to cronies and foreigners of doubtful character in so called "peaceful" Naija grin.

We should take some responsibility for our inaction and INERTIA. Your 'enemy' cannot liberate you nor wish you well. It is for us to devise effective methods etc to deal with such onslaughts on our terrain/people. It's WAR of hearts and minds besides physical war activities. The countries you mentioned in your post did it by their own self effort and self sustaining home grown ideas peculiar and appropriate to their own circumstance. Are we doing that? We are very aware and know so much about the West etc but do we know enough about ourself/Naija?. Our salvation is definitely in our own hands/backyard not in some distant lands/peoples. Fatalism is dangerous and we can ill afford such luxury except if some of us have accepted defeat already wink grin.

I am done with such conversation. I am tired of regurgitating and repeating myself on NL.

@Kobojunkie and Cheikh
Just don't call it a conspiracy theory because America has been doing this since the 40s. They overthrow governments like Rome. Watch this video about Haiti: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=VWvqVuXd7Gg

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 16th December 1990 - Jean-Bertrand Aristide, a former Catholic priest, won Haiti's first democratic Presidential election, securing 67 % of the vote. Aristide was sworn in as President on 7th February 1991, but ousted from power in a coup d'état less than eight months later, on 29th September 1991. There had been an attempted coup against Aristide on 6th January 1991, before his inauguration.

The coup was condemned by both the United Nations (US) General Assembly and the Organization of American States and throughout the coup regime's existence, the only state to recognise it was ironically the catholic led Vatican City.

On 31st July 1994 the US Security Council passed Resolution 940 authorising a United States (US) led multinational force to restore Aristide to office, under "Operation Uphold Democracy". On 15th October, Aristide returned to power to complete his first term which ended in February 1996. Under the Haitian constitution he was not permitted to contest the next election and serve consecutive terms.

Aristide ran for Presidential office again in 2000, in an election boycotted by many of the opposition, which saw him securing 92 % of the vote. Soon after assuming power Aristide called for France, the former colonial power, to pay $21 billion in reparations for its economic exploitation of Haiti during the period 1825 to 1947. It is thought that this was one of the factors which lead to Aristide being overthrown in a second coup d'état on 29th February 2004. Aristide was forced into exile, flown first to the Central African Republic, then later to South Africa where he remained until returning to Haiti on 18th March 2011.

There is substantial evidence that the US, though ostensibly supporting "democracy" in Haiti, played a clandestine role in orchestrating both coups against Aristide. Wikileaks has revealed evidence showing that "the priest had to go" and following the second coup, Noam Chomsky commented:

"When Aristide was overthrown by the 1991 military coup, the Organization of American States declared an embargo. Bush I announced that the US would violate it by exempting US firms, Clinton authorized even more extreme violations of the embargo: US trade with the junta and its wealthy supporters sharply increased. The crucial element of the embargo was, of course, oil, Clinton secretly authorized the Texaco Oil Company to ship oil to the junta illegally, in violation of presidential directives. This remarkable revelation was the lead story on the AP wires the day before Clinton sent the Marines to "restore democracy,", Also efficiently suppressed were the crucial conditions that Clinton imposed for Aristide's return: that he adopt the program of the defeated US candidate in the 1990 elections, a former World Bank official who had received 14% of the vote. We call this "restoring democracy," a prime illustration of how US foreign policy has entered a "noble phase" with a "saintly glow," the national press explained. The harsh neo-liberal program that Aristide was compelled to adopt was virtually guaranteed to demolish the remaining shreds of economic sovereignty, The Aristide government, once again, was undermined by US planners, who understood, under Clinton, that the threat of democracy can be overcome if economic sovereignty is eliminated."

The following clip is a refreshingly honest analysis of the historical circumstances behind the injustice the people of Haiti presently suffer:

The US does this around the world not just Haiti and Africa. It is the world's first global empire.

Me too, i am more spiritual now (without the rituals). Why isn't god helping the Congolese people? Why isn't go stopping Boko Haram? Why isn't god helping the Iraqi people or Syrians? Why didn't god help the Sudanese during the war in Darfur? How long have Africans been praying for and what did it bring to Africa? NOTHING. Just divide and conquer. We pray so much and wait for god for everything and do nothing.

We should be like the Japanese and get rid of all the missionaries and go back to our older religion. It also made us kind of worship white people because we worshiped a white Jesus. If we worship Christ, we should put it in our image like the Ethiopians did.

John Henrik Clarke talks about it:

Immortal Technique raps about it in songs. Like here in the beginning with Isis and Horus:
