mizztee: Na wa o! So there's no hope at all? He's not absconding, I just want some family at Christmas..... Millions have said that before and still never came back, not suggesting that your brother will do the same though. |

justwise: @gemini I think she'll need to have lived in the UK for 3 years prior ... to qualify as a home student- not sure if thats still applicable |

@Disguy, She will need to have lived in the UK for at least 3 years to qualify as a home student. It is still applicable. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Nickjnr: 11:52am On Sep 26, 2013 |
@Dis Guy I arrived into the UK in 2008 with my British passport thinking I would pay fees as a Home Student. On application to several Uni's I was told I did not qualify for home fees. Had to wait 3 years to re-apply and was allowed to pay home fees. Just finished my Masters now. So you are right. |

But I don't think anyone can answer this question for the school, why not direct it to the school itself? |

If the school have january/february intakes, they would allow you to defer, it's no biggie |

Thanks everyone for responding. Young adults visit all the time, I didn't want to have to speak to friends but I guess I will have to now. I will keep you all posted if we end up putting in a successful application, so it helps other genuine applicants in the future. 2 Likes |

Evening House-@vicjustic-@justwise, I got back from my second trip to the UK on a (6-months visa) mid july just few days to the expiry date. Each trip was for 18days. I plan to visit the U.K again in November for 1month ... Can i apply for a Longer-term visa 2Years this month?? I'm currently in my Finals in the University but only God knows when the Govt will respond to the current Strike ASUU!!. . Thanks BOSS! |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 12:52am On Sep 27, 2013 |
PHCN4: Evening House-@vicjustic-@justwise,Long term visas are issued on the basis of necessity; for regular travellers who are constantly in need of a visa, it is not issued on sequence. The question is, are you applying for a long term visa because, you desire it or because you need it? If you think that you need a long term visa, then you can apply for such |

When you submit a bank statement to the ukba for a student visa, are you allowed to still withdraw money from that account since you have money to fund the stay in another account. If not, where is it stated that you are to keep the money there |

Does the ECO go extra lenght at knowing ur current account balance after the 6months bank statement that's being provided. Or they only verify the one ( acct statement) they have with them. Thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by solomonwis(m): 4:32pm On Sep 27, 2013 |
Deeone_bangin!: They verify the authenticity of your bank account as provided and may go extra length (as you have implicitly empowered them to by giving them your bank statement) to verify anything and everything that relate to your bank statement in relation to your entry clearance application. |

Good afternoon sirs. Will be applying this week for UK visa. I have a bar/shawarma outlet that has been running for 6months, but it was incorporated September 2013 under business name not limited liability as I already have a limited liability which i use to run my contracts but not often. The bar now has an account which runs daily but no tax clearance as i understand i am only to pay vat at every month and not company tax since it's a business name; as explained by FRIS, but for the other company i have the tax clearance certificate and also have my personal income tax card issued by Lagos state government. The application will be supported with my current/dom account which have been running for 3years with a good closing balance and the following documents, marriage cert., wedding pictures, birth certificates, business receipts, house rent receipts and agreement, Question: (a)Will i be qualified for a visa knowing fully well that my company A has no good closing balance, company B runs daily with four staffs but newly incorporated. (b)Which Identity card will I use to support my application if I will be submitting both company's documents. Thank you sirs. |

FrontPageLawyer: Good afternoon sirs. Will be applying this week for UK visa.If you are applying for a visa as a self employed/company owner, ensure that your "company" is officially recognized and is legitimate is every aspect: including the legitimacy of your staff in regard to taxation. Even If you you own the company, you can't use a company's account as evidence of fund if the purpose of your trip is not official. Lastly, it will be unreasonable to present house rent documents in support of a visa application in Nigeria, visa officers would be surprised to see a Nigerian tenant applying for a UK tourist visa |

Hi guys, need some advice. I finished my masters in Feb, got back in June about 2 days b4 my visa expired cuz the hospital I wz working for needed cover and jst wouldn't let me go. Now I want to apply for a general visa to go for my graduation which comes up in november. My questions are: 1. I jst started working here in naija last month would dat be a problem cuz dey have asked for an extensive history of employment 2. The fact that I left jst 2 days b4 my visa expired, would dat affect my application? 3. They have asked for National insurance number, what do they need that for cuz I remembered working a little above 20hrs in some weeks while studying. Can dey decode dat with my NI number? I just think it's beta not to apply at all than to apply and be refused a visa that is why I want to be sure before applying because I'm expecting a COS soon from my previous employer so I don't want any bad records. |

brownee06: Hi guys, need some advice.1) Definitely YES, you have not earned paid-holiday period, besides, you need to be at least one year in your employment in order to have the full rights to labour law protection. 2) No, that's not a problem except your visa carries a Duration Of Stay remark, and you exceeded the duration of stay. 3) They will use the NI number to investigate you and to do background check on you. It is only for formality and for credibility purpose that they require you to enter your NI number because, in actual sense, they can fetch that out by your names or/and your date of birth. It could be a problem if they found out that you breached the conditions of your student visa unless the breaches are pardonably minimal |

Hello Vicjustice My wife will be travelling to the UK for her PhD in some days.......She is currently on PTDF scholarship that will take up to 4 years ......so am planning to apply for a tier 4 dependant visa soon.....We have been asked to keep some amount of money in her foreign account for a period of 28days ........Presently am not working as i resigned from bank some months ago....PTDF is willing to give me a covering letter introducing me as the husband of the said scholar and also offered to be responsible for my plane ticket....Its also pertinent to state that before now PTDF covers the living expenses of both the husband and the wife but for cost-cutting reasons they have decided to remove the clause for PhD scholars. Please what are my chances ?? what approach do you think i should make to avoid being denied ? Thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 7:21am On Oct 01, 2013 |
drillskillz: Hello VicjusticeYou've asked two questions, one is about your chance; and the other is what to do to avoid your application being refused. To this I'd say first of all that even your wife's application can not be guaranteed, and by this, I'd say that your chance is extremely low at this stage since you apparently have no serious thing to do in the UK: the only thing that would qualify you for a visa is your relationship, and to meet that qualification, your wife will have to meet the requirements. To the second question, I'd say, things are easier when done orderly. |
