The Mr. Endowed crooner has dropped the ball, it is just like any other release from an up coming artist.
he actually did his best, but there are some some back up voice i:e for chorus D'jazzy use's that makes his production standout. Oyato is ok, but not international standard. a kanye won't becoz of dis sign a dbanj period. "No beefing".

Re: D'banj's Oyato: Hit Or Miss? by dabrake(m): 7:52am On Jul 16, 2012
ok, I've now listened to the track. my verdict
Great beat
near perfect intro
a little above average track

but D'Banj can do better than this. I believe. I still listen to Suddenly, Gbona Feli Feli and Why me cuz they are on point. If DB began his career this way, him for no see period at all. he can really do better than this. forget the hater/non-party track. a good track is a good track and this track should be sung by someone in RASQUE's level and not that of D.

oyeakd: What do u think?

In my personal opinion, i like it and i feel it will do well commercially as it'll keep growing on me with mad airplay just like Oliver twist and his other joints. Similar formula deployed on this joint.

One thing I have noticed here about this song is that...some of you criticising it are doing so not becos its a bad song but simply becos it was not produced by don jazzy. My advise for you guys is. Go hug a transformer and pls advise don j to produce anoda dbanj
Funny enough those of you saying rubbish will be the first to scream wen you hear it in a bar or club. Mumu

Maybe the OP should add a poll. If the results are not rigged by this confused moderator (she knows herself), I'm very certain that more than 80% of voters (including the silent majority who are not posting on these topics) would declare the song WACK. Add a poll if you dare.

I can just see Don Jazzy sitting back on a recliner, with a fat cigar and a bottle of champagne, reading all these comments and laughing his head off at D,banj latest failure of a song. Hahahaha.

Don Jazzy: 1 D'banj: 0

Re: D'banj's Oyato: Hit Or Miss? by Nobody: 8:39am On Jul 16, 2012
With this dead oyato song, it seems like dbanj wants to rub poto-poto on Kanye West's body. Hmmmm he better go and kneel down and beg don jazzy with a Range Rover Sport jeep.

Yeah. What's wrong with that? They're still D'banj's songs.

pro01: I must confess this clown's PR machine is extremely strong, inspite of his weak musical substance. So because it's D'banj, with a below average song for that matter, you nitwits would put two Oyato threads on the front page, so that three or four posters would repeatedly argue and fight to 20 pages, and then you fools would say D'Banj is "trending"? Current genuine monster hits like Nyanya's Kukere, Wizkid's Azonto Freestyle, Chuddy K's Gaga Crazy, and Ice Prince's Juju should have 19 threads on the front page then, and they'll be more deserving. Mumu moderators and even mumu-er D'Banj a.r.s.eh.ole lickers.

So what is your point? I have to be a musican before I can express an opinion about music? Or do you have to be a professional footballer before you criticise a given footballer's game? Smh. Orikinla made a very valid point (was it on the other thread). It seems most D'Banj 'fans' are exceedingly daft.

Negative reception greets D'banj's new single

"With 'Oyato', I am inclined to think that D'banj would have never made it as an artiste if Don Jazzy wasn't his producer," a fan says

Multiple award winning Nigerian artiste Dapo Oyebanjo's (popularly known as D'banj) latest single 'Oyato' has continued to elicit negative reception from music fans across Nigeria.

Released on Saturday, the 3.24 minutes track is the first song the G.O.O.D Music star would release since he left Mo'Hits Records early this year.

Though dedicated to his fans who stood by him through his "trying times;" D'banj also reached out to his haters in the song telling them he's still the best around.

"I see all these Pharisees/ All them say all na fallacy.

Wetin dem talk no matter at all/What God has done no man can destroy.

At the end of the day no contest/They know me they know what I've accomplished....," he sang.

Playing his trademark harmonica in the track, Oyato is also D'banj's first song without his former partner Don Jazzy's signature beat.

Reactions to the song began to trend on twitter minutes after its release as his fans began to express their dissatisfaction.

"As wack as ever... Never expected something better though," a fan said in a tweet.

"With 'Oyato', I am inclined to think that D'banj would have never made it as an artiste if Don Jazzy wasn't his producer," another one said.

Another disappointed fan said in a tweet: "At some point when you are listening to 'Oyato', you would check again to see if you actually downloaded the right song (because) d song is too wack."

Opinions can be expressed without being abusive....95% of nairaland population can't just help adding one or two abusive words... where's the decency we claim to have. I rate Oyato above average but can't help jamming it at my desk at work
