Politics / Re: IPOB Members, Others Risk Jail Terms And Fines For Separatists Agitation - HOR by Abaki5: 1:26am On Aug 14
gidgiddy:
Dead in the water

Agitation to seperate from a country, called 'self determination', is recognised in international law Nigeria is signatory to

Article 20 of the African Charter which Nigeria is signatory to says

All peoples shall have the right to existence. They shall have the unquestionable and inalienable right to self- determination. They shall freely determine their political status and shall pursue their economic and social development according to the policy they have freely chosen

Article 1 & 20, Cap A9, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria says: "All peoples shall have the unquestionable and inalienable right of self determination. The state shall recognize the right and adopt legislative or other measures to give effect to it"

If you want to criminalise self determination, remove these Laws first

It was these Laws that allowed Nigeria to get its independence from Britain
Self inflict pain through wrong idea
