@ sparkone, I really don't know much about the appeal process , besides I hear it takes longer time, I was hoping to reapply again next week, what do you think

Dont bother to appeal as it can take forever. If i were you, i will reapply and attach the originals of all documents.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by amykelly: 10:53am On Jan 30, 2012
Hi All, Pls I need some information urgently.
My In-law applied for a student visa but was refused on the grounds that her office admin didn't state a break down of the maintenance fee given to her in the letter they provided. Her school is supposed to resume on the 30th of Jan, which is today but she has been allowed to resume anytime before the 13th of January. Her office drafted another letter to the embassy showing the breakdown of the maintenance fee and she reapplied immediately with the same CAS issued by the university. I just heard from a friend that she isn't supposed to apply with the same CAS. She got the CAS in December and reapplied with it because she thought that since it is valid for six months then it shouldn't be a problem. Pls how true is this??

Travel / Re: British Govt Re-issues Arik Air's Landing Slots In London by amykelly: 5:54pm On Nov 21, 2011
If we are talking about the same ARIK that I had the misfortune of flying for the first time 2 days ago, then I anticipate that is is only a matter of time before they will be the ones locking up the place and handing back the keys.

On the way out there was no entertainment system for the whole of the flight
Crap food - and for me to complain about food then it means that it is really bad cos I am not a fussy eater.
Limited drinks
non chalant cabin crew and they didnt look like people I could trust to handle an emergency. They didnt seem to get on with each other and oozed zero confidence.
The only plus going for them was that we left baang on time & their higher than average luggage allowance

On the way back we boarded late and into a boiling plane because according to them the air conditioning system only worked with the engines switched on and the engines cant be switched on because the pilot was stuck in traffic.

We were left on the plane in terrible conditions with kids crying and people sweating for half an hour and with no cold water.

Again no entertainment system for the whole of the flight
Cabin crew looked rather thin on ground and I counted only about 8 of them looking after the whole plane
Crap food
Limited drinks
very slow/non existent service - ask them for water or a blanket and they never come back and it took them 45 minutes after we had finshed eating for them to pack up the trays.

Will I ever fly ARIK again? even if they slashed their prices by half and doubled their baggage allowance - The answer is a CAPITAL NO

Y do pple make things complicated 4 emselves. This particular question has been answered, over and over again,in not less than 5 pages back here,i could remember answering this question 2-3 times in those pages. PLS,B4 U ASK ANY QUESTION HERE,MAKE SURE U HAVE GONE THROUGH EVERY CROOK&CRANK OF THIS THREAD, so that those answering won't have to keep re-answering questions as though they are machines nt humans.
Nobody put a gun to your head to answer!  angry angry angry angry
There are 298 pages on this thread and I checked through the first 150 pages and got tired of checking because some date back to last year which may not be accurate. I don't know why you feel it is necessary to be rude. Next time, remember it is not compulsory to reply cos your above mail didn't contribute anything to my question! Mscheeeew!! angry angry angry

Point of Advice- Even if it is has been answered before there are other polite ways to answer. Being rude doesn't solve the question/query it only makes you seem very insensitive and ill-mannered.
Travel / Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by amykelly: 5:36pm On Nov 01, 2011
Filling the form isn't a big deal ooo! The only reason I am asking is that I may need to change some things on the form before the interview date and I think I wouldn't be able to do that cos I would have submitted the form. I noticed that if i change anything on the form, i will need to book another appointment. I would have booked next year but i don't want to go through the head ache of looking for an appointment date hence my early schedule.

Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by amykelly: 4:22pm On Nov 01, 2011
1. You go to gtbank and pay for your visa fee
2. You secure appmnt
3. You prepare your documents and your self for interview
4. You go to interview and get your visa, lol

SHALOM

I cant seem to secure an appointment first without filling the DS-160 form for tourism/vacation.
I have paid the fees at the bank already but the electronic receipt doesn't include a bar-code so i cant book without filling the form first.
Or is there something I am missing?

Hi all, I will really like your advice. My sister is getting married (church wedding) next year may in America. She is a green-card holder and has already done her court wedding to her husband a while ago. I want to get an interview date for April 2012.
I want to use my sister and her husband as sponsor- The reason is that my sister is not working but her American husband is working and opened a joint account in both their names.
Also I have 3 other siblings in America, is it wise to mention I have other relatives at the embassy?
Also my husband is based in the UK and is a UK citizen, I have made up my mind that I will apply for the spouse visa once I get back from my sister's wedding
Even if I am using my sister and husband as a sponsor, i am also working here in Nigeria on a salary of 130k per month and can show an account balance above 1m. Can this be used to show ties to Nigeria? and the fact I have my mum and other siblings here? also the fact that I am married and that I have to come back to apply for a UK spouse visa?
I currently have a 2 yrs UK visa but have never applied to the American embassy.
I have tried reading through the thread but I noticed that most people are applying for student visa.
Please any advice will be really appreciated.

Hi Nairalanders, I just noticed on UK border website that it says we should provide evidence for maintenance for 27 months for a UK spouse visa. How much is acceptable? Is it okay if my spouse has 2k pounds and I have 5k pounds?? That's the part of the requirement that is scaring me.
For all of U that have applied, pls how much did u show as proof of maintenance?

Pls for all the guys that used klm with a nigerian passport and didnt have a schegen visa, pls did u have a transit visa or did u need to get an airport transit visa? I have been trying klm customer service but it is hopeless? I booked my flight with Waka Now and they assured me that I dont need one.
Travel / Re: Your Experience On Klm To London by amykelly: 8:43pm On Aug 25, 2011
I have confimed that I don't need a transit visa however, I wudnt be able to leave the airport with a Nigerian passport, if I don't have a shengen visa. So I guess I have to make do with the airport!! wink
Well as long as I can visit the shops and eat. I should be fine! The worst thing that can happen to me is being stuck in a transit lounge for hrs without being able to move around!!
Maybe I shud enjoy the booze too at least, I will be in a happy state cheesy wink
Travel / Re: Your Experience On Klm To London by amykelly: 4:24pm On Aug 25, 2011
i hope you paid less than £40 for that klm flight. . . .
it takes about 6 hrs from lagos to london on direct flight. . . . .you will spend 8 hrs alone in amsterdam before going to london. . .
in a nutshell, your flight time is about 14 hrs? Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
it doesn't make sense. . . .ask for a refund!

I wish! the ticket cost 670pounds! Thats the equivalent I paid in Naira. This is summer and tickets are pretty expensive!! All the direct flights were annonying high!
