Health / Re: My Girlfriend Is HIV Positive But: by Barrackboy(m): 11:38pm On Oct 28, 2007
@poster
With all due respect, do you know what you are talking about at all? Please check your post again. You stated that you had a babe. The word 'had' means you no longer have. You claim she's on antibiotics for now. You specifically mentioned septrin. Please enlighten me, is SEPTRIN a retroviral drug? How did she discover that she was HIV positive? Kindly shed more light on your post. I may be wrong, but I feel you are just kidding. Please tell us you are smiley
Politics / Re: Know The Documents Police Should Ask For At Checkpoints! by Barrackboy(m): 2:30pm On Sep 05, 2007
My advice:  apply great wisdom when you have to deal with an armed policeman in Nigeria. We live in a lawless society! You life is more important. When you find yourself in the middle of nowhere and an armed policeman is being unreasonable, just try to comply as much as you can. Ensure you get all the documents, whether required or not. Tell the IG to drive in an unmarked from Lagos to Port Harcourt, if he's unlucky, they would have asked him to do some frog jumps before they discover he's IG.

Dem thieves are everywhere. I always advise people not to only look before they leap but also think/analyse very well. THEIR AIN'T NO FREE MEAL ANYWHERE, EVEN IN FREETOWN. smiley
Someone who claimed to be my cousin called a while ago. Don't know how he did it but a UK number displayed on my mobile phone screen. I decided to play along. He told me to call a particular local number (GSM) and ask for a pastor Daniel. He said the pastor arrived naija a few days back, his wife had just put to birth in the UK and couldn't reach him. He went further to say he gave the pastor some items for me (digital camera, nokia phone, £5000 cash) I called the pastor in the presence of my friends and put the call on speaker mode. I told him what my alleged cousin said. He confirmed it and asked for my location (gave him a wrong one). He promised travelling from a village in Kogi to meet me in Ogun state. He also acted that he was excited when I told him that my alleged cousin said his wife had put to bed (funny enough, he shouted Al am dullilahi. imagine, a pastor for that matter). He said his wife's people came to pick him from the airport in Abuja to their village in Kogi and he would need me to help send some recharge cards to him so that he could call his wife. He claimed that he couldn't get recharge cards in his village. He was going to give me additional £300 if i did him that favour. When his jist was no longer interesting, I told him in yoruba language that he would die a thief. Initially he was shocked but when he realised that he didn't bait me, he started abusing me. He confessed that he was a professional 419er and that was how he made his living. He even promised to buy me a drink whenever we meet.

When the chips are down a lot of dem put their tails between their legs and scamper outa the country. Check out their locations and you would discover that a lot of dem are based outside the country. Why? They have shed other peoples blood under the cover of darkness and had to scamper out. Your enemies will always get you. That is the danger there. You think time will erase the evils deeds you have done outa the memories? No way!

Education / Are/Were You A Cultist? by Barrackboy(m): 11:39am On Aug 31, 2007
Are you or have you ever been a member of a cult group whether in school, where you live or at work. Please share your experience. The aim is to help dissuade others from joining. I know that the disadvantages of being one outweighs the few 'advantages'. A childhoold friend who was in eiye fraternity in one of the schools in the south west was 'brought down' immediately he stepped out of the examination hall in school after writing his final paper in his final year. The only son of his parents! They still got at him despite the fact that his foot soldiers mounted sentries outside the examination hall. cry cryA neighbour's son was chased and hacked down by rivals when he least expected it. cry cry waiting for your views,
Romance / Re: Why Do People Cheat In Relationships? by Barrackboy(m): 10:30am On Aug 31, 2007
There are so many factors that could make one cheat in a relationship! To maintain a relationship takes more than words of mouth. It takes a lot of dedication, maturity, wisdom and self discipline.
There exist different categories of cheats:
[li]some go hunting for temptation (master cheats - wanna sleep with anything that looks 'appetizing')[/li]
[li]some encounter temptation every day but wait for the right mood b4 cheating (quarrel with partner)[/li]
[li]some only cheat when they are drunk (peer influence, etc)[/li]
[li]some cheat when partner has travelled/indisposed/pregnant (they regular dose of sex)[/li]
Relationships ain't easy, but whatever we do, try to think of your partner. USE PROTECTION! Think of the innocent man/woman at home. Be a provider of affection and good love and not INFECTIOUS KILLER DISEASES!

@jokepearl
The international passport is a legal document for indentification of its owner. Being a legal document, it derives its validity from several features/factors. If for any reason, any of its unique features is altered, then there's cause to doubt its validity. It's the passport control signature that has been washed off! That is the signature of the immigration officer authorising the issuance of your passport! I would advise that you visit the nearest immigration office to seek a solution and forestall any costly future embarrassment! Any eagled-eye/mischievous immigration officer in Nigeria can claim that your passport was forged. Immagine you just arriving the country from an international trip? Do the right thing. Good luck.

Thank God you escaped it. A lot of people fall for this out of greed. I keep telling people that THERE IS NO FREE MEAL ANYWHERE, EVEN IN FREETOWN! These crooks have different approaches but to a discerning mind, they sound alike. I wonder, despite all the stories in the dailies/internet some people still fall victims. WHY? I advise people to always be on red alert. Don't start conversation with people you don't know. Even when you do, let it be with CAUTION! May God help us all.

A bold step but are they sure it's in the right direction ?
Lets hope there are no reprisal attacks that may cost the JTF a lot more casualties

What better option is there than to take the war to the turf of the criminals? Should they wait till they strike again? NO! It's not really their fault, they were only capitalising on our newly found democracy. Where were they when Abacha and co were ruling? Imagine a bunch of criminals calling themselves militants in a country where a legitimate government exist! The mere fact that they steal crude is a big crime, talk less of having an armed army. If I have the way, I would bring in more soldiers from the 82 division, Enugu, the Air unit from Benin and Naval support from Calabar and Warri. Let us see where they will hide. Bunch of criminals! Just imagine the number of civilians they have killed - innocents souls for that matter. They have completely jeopardise the legitimate fight of the Niger Delta.
Politics / Re: Do You Support A State-of-emergency In Port Harcourt? by Barrackboy(m): 8:51pm On Aug 24, 2007
Dear Nairalanders,
please do not judge the situation in Port Harcourt from what you read in the newspapers. A lot of them are not true. The problem is a deep rooted one. One of the reasons why things degenerate in this country is because a lot of people do not speak the truth for personal reasons. Cultism is the problem. Those calling for the imposition of a state of emergency are doing so because they are aware that the Governor of Rivers state and his lieutenants are in one cult group or the other. Believe it or not. Cultism has become the order of the day in this state. Cult groups exists on almost all streets. Cult groups exist even in primary schools! We should speak the truth when we know and see it. The governor is a blatant lie! He hobnobbed with cultists/criminals and denied it because things have gotten out of hand. It is a matter of fact for us in this state that Soboma George and his boys were the one frisking people that attended the inauguration of this government at the Civic Center in Port Harcourt. Soboma George was the same person given the contract to provide security whenever the state's football team had any match in Port Harcourt. Two pumps (petrol and kerosene) were dedicated to Soboma George and his boy at the NNPC mega station at Lagos bus stop, Port Harcourt. When the governor went to his village recently for a function, it was Soboma George's gang that provided security to and fro. When the governor's mum was kidnapped, what happened to the kidnappers? Nothing! He ended up paying them. Why? It was found out later on that the kidnappers were the boys he used during election and refused to pay. Did the police arrest and prosecute anyone? NO! It was the same thing that happened in Bayelsa state by Alameyesigha. Instead of paying the boys, he called in the police and the boys went haywire and killed several policemen until a state of emergency was declared. The boys were flushed out. Odili (the great destroyer of Rivers state) started the whole thing. He used Asari Dokubo during election while his lieutenant, Abiye Sekibo destroyed Okrika through the use of another cult leader, Tom Ateke and his estranged second in command, Soboma George. It was when Asari fell out with Odili that he set him up for the police to arrest. Till today, Odili can not move freely in Rivers State because of his sins, same with Abiye Sekibo. There are lots of cult groups in Rivers state and the leaders of the state are in different factions. How do we expect them to find a solution to this problem when they are all involved? The problem is a complex one. Aside the popular cultists, there are others that are even deadlier but silent. They are the same ones that Soboma George and Tom Ateke align with to attack each other. A food for thought: Soboma George was in prison for murder until he escaped through the aids of some other cult groups. He was also arrested for a traffic offence but his boys came to free him from the police station. What kind of government would allow such a breakdown of law and order? Innocent people were killed regularly whenever these cult group fight. We should rethink and do/support what is right for our state/nation to move forward. May God help us all as we help ourselves. cry cry cry

Nairaland / General / Re: Succubus/incubus: Is It Real? by Barrackboy(m): 12:17am On Jul 30, 2007
BlackMamba:

You were sleeping, and when you sleep you often engage in a human subconscious action called "dreaming", which sometimes are not sweet, ie nightmares. And because you're asleep, you feel helpless. Often when you wake up you feel just fine. If you don't go freaking out like some people do over bad dreams. And that's also why no one ever wakes up to confront the "thing" that was threatening them when they were sound asleep.
I understand your situation. My people say: he who feels it knows it. You talk about dreaming, I can tell you that there's a big difference between dreaming and what freezy is talking about. My friend, there are a lot of things about the supernatural (whether you believe or not) that we do not know. I could remember, a few years back, I used to experience what Freezy's talking about. Mine was so bad that it used to happen in the afternoon also. I didn't need to take a nap but just lying down on the bed. I used to sub-consciously call : THE BLOOD OF JESUS! before I could get a temporary relief. I know that some supermen would laugh and make jest of it, but just experience it to know how it is,
Freezy, please go to your pastor for deliverance or attend the deliverance service of any good church around.  Good luck.

Nairaland / General / Re: Modern Day Racism? by Barrackboy(m): 11:33pm On Jul 25, 2007
My brother you are just developing headache over nothing. It's not in their culture to greet the way we Africans greet. Ignoring your greetings does not mean that they hate you, they just didn't grow up like we did. Just let them be and continue to do your work. For example, we Nigerians can shake hands 2million times in a day with the same person but if you try to shake hands with a Frenchman a second time same day, he would tell you that he already gave you a handshake. Exceptions to this, are the ones that have gotten used to our naija style. smiley
Family / Re: How Hard Is It To Remain In Marriage? by Barrackboy(m): 10:55pm On Jul 25, 2007
Forget about the "Mills & Booms" impression of marriage that a lot of people have. Marriage is really a tough venture! It could sometimes be sweet and sour the next minute. I always advise anyone that cares to listen that people should ensure that the person they are getting married to is a friend! Someone that you can be REAL with. You can be natural with. A lot of people act during courtship and therefore disallow their partners to see their real self. When your partner starts seeing the real you after marriage, that's where the problem starts from. He/she would be wondering when exactly you changed. Another problem is that people equate pre-marital times to post-marital times. They are not the same! Just imagine a scenerio where you have a partner that you don't see frequently. This means you crave for his/her presence and as a result get excited about seeing him/her again. So when you eventually meet, you are all over him/her. The few minutes/hours/days you spend together is like being in heaven. You are very romantic. You do all sorts just because you know that it would take a while (could be one day, one week, one month, etc) before you see him/her again. But when you are married, the excitement reduces after a while, take it or leave it. This is one of the reasons why you are advised to spice your marriage once in a while. Take you spouse out. Spend a weekend in a hotel. Go for candle lit dinner.
There are also several phases in a marriage
INITIAL EXCITEMENT PERIOD - just after marriage
NEXT EXCITEMENT PERIOD - just when she's pregnant
PERIOD OF IRRITATION - when the pregnancy is advancing. That is the period when sex will reduce drastically for some.
PERIOD OF LACK OF SEX - Just before delivery and after delivery (especially if she has vaginal tears during childbirth)
AFTER CHILD BIRTH - This is the period when a lot of changes occur. Wife dedicates time to new baby. Husband feels abandoned/ignored. During this period a lot of men sought for sexual satisfaction outside.

It takes a lot of wisdom/understanding/patience/love for the marriage to remain the same. People should not just feel that marriage is all rosy. But I would still say it is a wonderful experience that I would not miss for anything. Good luck bachelors and spinsters in the house wink
Romance / Re: What if Your Boyfriend Beats You A Lot? by Barrackboy(m): 2:56pm On Jul 25, 2007
Despite the fact that some ladies/women can provoke their hubbies to the final limit, I do not support women-battering. It's a display of the animal traits in human beings. Though, in some cases, it has become a way of life for some people. I used to know a lady whose boyfriend would always beat the shit out of her and she never left him. He would beat her to the extent that neighbours would intervene. At a point neighbours got tired with their attitude. It was later on I found out that the lady in question initiates the beating sessions! Crazy, eh? She picks on a quarrel, they fight and then make love immediately! A weird one? It's TRUE.

Funny world! Look at people jumping at sexual offers when they don't even know if the offerer is a male or a female. Some even volunteered their personal data. Are some guys this sex-starved? Don't you guys have girlfriends?
