Watch out so many poof will soon infest this thread.Topics like this afford them the opportunity to come sell their alien and disgusting act.Their major blanket of defence is the assertion on why the Government can't fight corruption but instead desipate her energy in making laws against gays.People of Lost and cursed generation.

vire: Men will prefer to see two ladies doing it than seeing two men doing it.....so wont that show some of us support a part of homosexuality....The bible says wickedness will increase in the last days...so how long will your tradition hold...Not with our younger generation going GAY CURIOUS..

where is tradition......it was a taboo to go nude but these days dats the new fashion trend...Gone are the days we use to say my daddy said this and this is bad now its Oprah said this is good....Ellen said this is good....Tyra banks says so and so and even Dr phil ....the altar of same-sex marriage is on all this talk shows where they are glorified and guess what this generation are addicted to them.....so down the toilet goes your tradition once this generation gets in power..
With all your ranting what is your point? That because of external pressure and the young generation savoring watching women do it that it should be accepted by the Government? And you first threw a defence that u ain't a supporter of gay right? Please spare the 92% Nigerians your sermon.

Politics / Re: Tambuwal Under Pressure To Resign; As APC Reps Withdraw Support by churchAgbasa: 8:58pm On Oct 08, 2013
theoctopus:

Most of you here dont know anything about Nigerian politics. That there are 360 members does not mean all the members have to be present to impeach the speaker. There has never been a time when all the members were present in the house except maybe at the inauguration. The key factors that determine impeachment are resources and politicking. Those who support Tambuwal do not necessarily love him. People just align themselves to wherever they think suits them most. The moment they begin to loose confidence in Tambuwal not being able to serve their interest, they will dump him. He will be dealt with at the right time. The only reason he is still there is because GEJ is a gentle man. If the president really wants him out, he will be thrown out and even the opposition reps will join to impeach him.
How i wish i was in your location i would have given u a bottle of wine.So many peeps here on NL just wake up to make nasty and baseless assumption all in the name of sentimental politics. They should ask themselves how the influential "Oyi of Oyi" Chief Chuba Okadigbo was booted out as the Senate President with all the popularity and charisma he had in the Hallowed chamber. In matter of the National Assembly what matters is the level of financial lobby to the Legislators and not a mere love or party support of the Speaker. Why should an APC member just wake up and decides that he will surely support the Speaker when he or she is lobbied by the Speaker's team? What those men consider first is the amount of cash throwned to them cause they have nothing to lose if Tambuwal is impeached. Some of the members don't even like him cause they were not favoured in committee sharing therefore they still have grudge against Mr Speaker. This might be the right time for them to pay him back.

Nairaland / General / Re: High Death Rate On The Lekki Expressway by churchAgbasa: 4:12am On Aug 29, 2013
ibadanchap:

Freeways don't usually have roundabouts and bus stops either. Most freeways have exits to the right which may lead to an overhead bridge that allows you to safely go left. In fact, from my experience, freeways don't have buildings left, right that has access directly to the freeway, at least in Canada and UK where I frequently travel to.

This is not the case on our so called expressway in Nigeria. Sometimes the roads start as a true freeway, but sooner than later, all sorts spring up along the expressway. I still remember when the Ojoo to Toll gate expressway was first built in Ibadan. I drive from my home in Molete to IITA via the express road daily then during my Industrial Training and it was usually smooth, fast and pleasant. Now you watch out for several vehicles stopping haphazardly, some crossing the express anyhow, and numerous pedestrians crossing. As far as I am concerned, I no longer regard that road as an expressway.

I support scrapping the roundabouts for traffic lights. In Canada, I hardly see pedestrian bridges, but you will usually find traffic lights from where you can cross, especially at places where there is high pedestrian traffic.

Also, in Canada highway code, you are required to watch out for pedestrians, even when you have the right of way. But as many people always say in Nigeria, we really don't value human life.

@op I really like your posting. Very clear and logical. Wish more postings on Nairaland will be this objective.
Bro please reread my post i don't think you understood my comment.I never in anyway say a freeway has a roundabout or bus stops. For the buildings at both sides of the road i was referring to Highways that has Pedestrian crossing. And i still repeat it some Highways in America have Pedestrian bridge though they don't come in the way Nigeria's own appear.A good example can be found in Downtown Houston from University of Houston to another building in the other side of the road,Its also found in cities like DC,chicago,Atlanta and Dallas downtown
Nairaland / General / Re: High Death Rate On The Lekki Expressway by churchAgbasa: 3:03am On Aug 29, 2013
hollandis: i think Nigerian drivers and road users are unsympathethic to pedestrians and categorise them as poor. There are no bridges in America for "pedestrian crossing".There is simply the traffic light even on the most busy roads.Nigeria has a veryyyy long way to go
What America are you talking about?with those words of yours "There are no bridges in America for pedestrian crossing" you need to travel more. There are pedestrian crossings in most Highways in downtowns in America cities. In most cases it is layed between two buildings on both sides of the road while the HWY runs underneath.Bwahahahah.she he even went ahead to say "there is simply the traffic light even on the most busy roads".Girl haven't you heard of freeway?where in your Detroit have you seen traffic lights on a freeway?.Na wa for you.

You people are decades very backward for real..
That's one reason I hate commenting on NL cause there are many slow people in this forum.Who told you am from Anambra state? You just woke up to make a silly conclusion with this quote"You people are decades backward for real"What's the meaning of that rubbish comment?I will pardon you for this. But whatsoever you think that doesn't change what's obtainable in Nigerian politics. The people have decided to base their alignment on religious sect so there is nothing your moral preaching can do to change it.Once again let me remind you am not from Anambra state but know well how politics goes on there and how politics is played in Nigeria at large.
Politics / Re: Willy Obiano Is APGA Anambra Guber Candidate by churchAgbasa: 12:48am On Aug 27, 2013
[b]I made sure I read each and every of the comments here. Those thinking this man is a push over are getting it wrong.Wether you like Peter Obi or not he has proven to be a Political jugganut.with this primaries today Anambrarians you have all seen your Governor. All that is waiting for now is for the due process of election to hold. For those underestimating Gov.Obi should ask themselve how come a member of another party will be so close to the President more than the President's own party men? and considering Soludo's endorsement by the President two days before he was disqualified this shows they both have something up their sleeve. Those angry that the Gov. didn't pick Soludo don't know nothing about politics. In politics loyalty is most expedient. No one like to be around a renegade.A close look at the prevalent issues between the President and Gov.Amaechi is enough to serve as a deterrent to any Governor. There is no Governor that picks anyone based on your antecedent or wealth but strictly based on due assurance of loyalty. So the masses are sometimes lucky to get a good Governor and sometimes bad governor.Gov.Obi's case shouldn't have to be the first. All Anambrarians should pray for is that the man should be God fearing and have the people at heart. For those rooting for Ngige they are in a very long thing.Anambrarians play their politics along religious line and the Obaino has the clout to clinch and curry their favor owing to what he has done for the catholics in the state and in Lagos.Ngige's position on the issue of deportation of igbos in their own country from Lagos will sure hunt him as this will be the steady punch line of opposition parties during their campaign. In all I wish the good people of Anambra state a peaceful and calm election and also a God fearing Governor come November 2013. CFCfan: @ Church agbasa: The CIA does NOT takeover a civilian airport in the U.S, whenever Airforce1 lands in an airport. It's the secret service that takes charge of the security.
Like some poster said, I think it's only the US president that is afforded that type of treatment; even at that no US airport/airspace is locked down for more than one hour.
Thanks for the correction.
Politics / Re: Why Is Nigeria VIP Crazy? by churchAgbasa: 3:31pm On Aug 19, 2013
[b]OP it happens in the United States.Whenever the President is landing in an airport every activity at the airport gets shut down. That of America is even worse than that of Nigeria. The CIA takes over the whole place unlike in Nigeria where only movement of flights are affected. Its a common occurrence whenever Obama visits Chicago.I have witnessed it thrice in Chicago and once at the Bush International airport. As for the Military base landing that's only if the city has one i.e the Joint Base Andrews in Maryland where the President uses instead of Washington Dulles international airport or Ronald Reagan National airport in DC.What then happens if the state the President is visiting does not have a military base?It all boils down to security concerns.Manny4life and other pilots in America here on Nairaland can confirm this.So its not only a Nigerian thing. That is not to say an airport will be shut down because of any Tom,Dick and Harry as applicable to Nigeria where even the first lady and Senate President draws unwanted attention whenever they want to use the airport. Point of correction you don't know how old i am and i don't know how old you are so your elder sister claim holds no waters but that aside your suggestion is wrong. How will you feel after your father was immortalised for another to be renamed with what he was immortalised with. That aside is not done anywhere in Nigeria cause Dan Anyiam had people that also clamoured for his immortalisation just as you are doing. There are other places he can be named after that aside his statue still stands at the National stadium in Surulere which is a rare occurance in the Nigeria.

This is what an International Airport looks like. Stella Odua should stop parading these glorified runways as International Airports.
I understand where you are going and i have also have this reservation on the kind of infrastructural model even the various state Governments are putting up in other respective projects. So many of them are far behind time i.e The resent Federal Government revamped trains. But in this case we are talking of Nigeria and not UAE(Dubai) so we as Nigerians gat nothing to do about it provided it serve his purpose because you have to put the huge sum of money into consideration owing to the fact that other sectors are begging for development too.

nora544: Nigerians you need a church who fight against the politicans, a church that is behind the poor, but a church that say nothing when senators fly abroad for medical treatment. A church that makes something but to tell the people to pray is not what will help.

This is only a story, we hear it evry week about the boats from africa to europa.

What could we do here in Europa when your country will not get better.
I see a documentation in the TV how they come thru the dessert to lybia and look for a boat and do you know how much they have to pay,and many of them lose there life, it is a sad story.

The pope was at lampedusa to speak with this people we see it in the TV.

Nigeria is good in praying and fasting but i never hear of pray and work what would be better.

I just read today in my country that the leader of our church speak against the goverment and that is no problem and it helps. The church in my country is the speaker for the poor, would this be possible in nigeria.
My friend what country are you from that you should so focus your advice on Nigeria? There is no country in Africa that don't have the issue of Pastors keeping silent as regard speaking out for the masses. As related to the post in question how are we sure your country men are not more in the boat mishap? Please spare us those your Jewish sermon
