Politics / Re: Nigeria Airbrushed Out Of Mandela’s Life Story by corinna: 2:39pm On Dec 12, 2013
That is life for you. What happened to Nigeria is what happens to everyday people. You help somebody and immediately he/she gets out of the ditch you become his or her enemy. Even when narrating their success history; you never get mentioned. Only those who recognised when they already become somebody when they are nothing or people who oppresed them with their wealth get praised. Lesson i have learnt is help others but upgrade yourself otherwise those you helped will be too ashamed to identify with you if you made nothing of yourself.

("The FCC is looking to sign more agreements with other countries, says FCC spokesman Neil Grace. Hopefully that will happen soon. It might be the only way to stop some guy on the streets of Lagos, Nigeria, from listening to your playlists, checking out your vacation pictures, or worse–stealing your identity."wink

This is an insult to all hardworking nigerians and if our government takes these statements lying low, then they should all be ashamed of themslves because nobody should insult a whole country like this and get away with it, whether that country be poor or not. If this magazine wrote this about a citizen of the us they would be made to pay for damages. I know some we say but we have 419 among us and so what? Are all americans killers because i always read of serial and mass killings in the US, still no one labels them a physco country.

Culture / Re: Why Do Nigerians Look At White People As Advanced Humans by corinna: 2:17pm On Jun 29, 2012
It is not just nigerians alone. Truth is many black people infact feel inferior to the white race for folowing reasons
1. our history have been re-constructed and as a result we have been educated to feel that way.
2. Unlike us (blacks) white people love themselves and as a result they place much value on every individual belonging to their race. In other words they love, encourage and support one another. While we hate our colour, hate ourselves and vent out our frustration on anybody that look like us. Any one darker than us; we call ugly and those that are light skinned we call beautiful. - These are the main reason why black neighbourhood and black nations reman under-developed
3. We honour and idolise the whites who make us feel us feel small and whose language we do not understand and hate, stereotype even our neighbour who are of other ethnicity.
4. My list can go on and on but let it stop but not without saying that not all blacks/nigerians feel inferoir to whites and also not all whites feel superior to blacks but then, if we act inferior to them; then what can the do but pity us.
5. Solution: let´s begin to love ourselves and others irrespective of language or nation and we will prosper and nolonger feel incompetent before a white man which in most cases we are even mentally and physically better than.

Politics / Re: I May Run In 2015, Says Buhari• He Is Upright – Obasanjo by corinna: 2:56pm On Jun 01, 2012
Buhari has civil right like any other Nigerian to contest election for as many times as possible as far as he is cleared by NEC, but for him to say he might run because his friends or whoever stands to benefit from his presidency are telling him to is laughable and ridiculous. That goes to show the kind of a president he will be. President for the enrichment of himself, his friends and family alone. Please people the only true reason why anybody should run for election should be because of his love for his country and because he is personly convinced that he has what to takes to take the country to the next level of developement.
Culture / Re: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by corinna: 5:07pm On May 26, 2012
engineerd: Edos' are the beloved of the Yorubas, i grew up learning to see the Edos as people we share our cultural heritage with. You cannot separate Yorubas and Edos because we came from the same people. So yes Edo is Yoruba and Yoruba is Edo! You dig?

i dig your style joor. At least we are one Nigeria. But truth is not many people is as liberal to his neighbour as you are. I have met many nice yourubas as an Edo person who see me as family and are nice but I have also met one to many who are the most tribalistic person on earth. I have nigerian graduates of yoruba origin(on four different occaisions both in lagos and europe, i.e pple. in their 30s-40s) who ask me if Edo is part of Ibo or Urhobo or even Hausa. Although i don´t know their intentions for such questions but it gives me an impression of pure DULLNESS (pls. no insults meant) but how can a nigerian graduate ask such a silly question. No graduate from south south or east will be so naive.
Culture / Re: Do Edo (Bini) People See Themselves As Yorubas? by corinna: 4:48pm On May 26, 2012
The Edos are not yoruba. They never claimed to be and never will. Yes they have lots of similar vocabularies but in most cases, these vocabularies have different meanings. For those who believe that the edos originated from yoruba. They should go and read "The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa" the African, written by himself, ninth edition enlarged London 1794. Although wikipedea wrote he is Ibo. I find that false and of course not unsual knowng niherians like to rewrite history because if you´ve read the book and have an understanding of the ancient politcs you will realise that the people referred to are the Edos.
