Nairaland / General / No To War Solution In Niger Republic; Northern Youths Declared by DUBAGARIJNR(m): 11:28am On Aug 08, 2023
Following the military coup in Niger Republic, democratic rule in the African region is under threat as about five (5) African countries are practicing military government currently.

However the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) has been on the front line in the restoration of democracy in Niger. The Ecowas Chairman, Sen. Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian President had delegated Ecowas peace delegation on a dialogue. The former Nigerian Head of States, Abdulsalam Abubakar and the Sultan of Sokoto had met with the Juntas, the ECOWAS Chief of Defence Staffs had met, ECOWAS had given an ultimatum which has elapsed.

The Northern Youth Assembly of Nigeria led by the Speaker Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal, held an extra ordinary seating to address the state of the nation.

Nigeria as a country is going through a lot right now, ranging from subsidy removal, internal security challenges, economic difficulties and the increasing food prices. we are calling on the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to say no to war solution in Niger Republic. ECOWAS should continue on the diplomatic dialogue to resolve the crisis amicably.

Going into war with Niger Republic will affect about 6 States in the Northern Nigeria sharing borders with Niger Republic. We maybe having more refugee trooping into Nigeria, spending too much resources to sustain the war, there by compounding the Nigerian problems.

Of course Nigeria is the giant of Africa, and we need to live up to that expectation by playing the role of a big brother. But we must fight with our brain and not with our emotion.

Therefore, we must shield our sword and embrace dialogue, engagement and advocacy to let them understand why they cannot remain in power.

We sincerely commend ECOWAS and their efforts so far, we will continue to support and pray for the continuous peace in Africa.

Barr Magaji said Eid'l Fitri (Feast of Ramadan) is not just an occasion to celebrate our month-long sacrifice of fasting from dusk to dawn and self-purification but also to introspect and reflect on the degree to which we have brought ourselves closer to the true tenets of Islam.

It is a time for us to ask ourselves how much we've helped our society's disadvantaged and less fortunate members. It is not enough for us to be empathetic of their plight; we must serve the people and contribute to the collective well-being.

This day brings a sense of joy to us Muslims as we associate it with our commitment to sharing it with others, Muslims and non-Muslims. May this message help you see the true essence and beauty of Ramadan, and may it foster unity in diversity.

He prays for Nasarawa State and Nigeria to succeed beyond boundaries

Nairaland / General / Nans Zone C Pass Vote Of Confidence On Coe M/s Takusha Nigeria Ltd Comrade Donal by DUBAGARIJNR(m): 8:07pm On Apr 21, 2023
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS) NORTH CENTRAL ZONE PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON COMRADE DONALD AMAGBA CEO M/S TAKUSHARA NIGERIA LTD.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) ZONE C is the umbrella body of students of Nigeria identity studying in the north central region and is saddled with the Responsibility to defend and protect the rights and welfare of its members within the Zone and also serve as key stakeholders in the affairs of the country as it concerns the Zone.

We have over the years followed with keen interest the achievements and developmental strides of Comrade Donald Amagba, we are also aware of the Outcry by some members of the Department of Outdoor Advertisements and Signages(DOAS) who are supposed to be stakeholders in progress of the FCT drag the a reputable Company M/S TAKUSHARA NIGERIA LIMITED which is duly and legally engaged by the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) to court thereby disregarding a Court Judgement nullifying their activities and declaring DOAS Illegal, thereby in extention dragging the reputation of many highly respected individuals to the mud.

Our main concern is the attack from some persons on one of our members, A former SUG President of the Zone and member of NANS in the Zone, the person of Comr Donald Amagba who remains an Icon to Nigerian Students.
However, some people have decided to distract him from continuing with the mandate of delivering on the task of properly channeled Revenue generation to the Council which will be used to serve and better the welfare of the people of AMAC especially those living in rural Areas, through the provisions of portable drinking water, good roads, health facilities etc by bringing unsubstantiated allegations that have no basis for intellectual reasoning,He has been subjected to all manner of attack and intimidation on social, Print and televised media and his good name and hard earned reputation is being dragged to the mud for a Job he was duly engaged as Technical Partner to aid revenue generation on the collection of Revenue from Signposts within AMAC.
Knowing Comrade Donald as a deligent and upright man,we know fully well that some persons are not happy with the success of a young business man who has transcend all obstacles to be assigned the enormous responsibility of revenue collection in the Council which will bring an end to the decade of thuggery and harassment of unsuspecting taxpayer's and would do everything possible to frustrate him, we initially dismissed those allegations.

However, we have noticed the intensified media campaign against him to the extent that people are being instigated against him thereby threatening his security and that of his family,
NANS ZONE C took the pain to investigate the various allegations-We found no merit in them.
Below are our Findings;
i. That the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) with a letter of engagement from the council duly engaged M/S TAKUSHARA NIGERIA LTD, A Company owned by Comr Donald Amagba as Technical Partners to aid the collection of Revenue within AMAC for a Period of One year.

ii. That the Department causing this chaos which is the Department of Outdoor Advertisements and Signages has been nullified by a Competent court of Jurisdiction, that the department only had a contract with the said Area Council to last for 10 years which it's contract by law has been terminated since December, 2022.

iii. That the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has overtime warned the department to stop collecting Revenue on the Council's behalf and has warned the Public to desist from dealing with the said department, We also are aware that the Area Council Chairman has set up a Task force on Revenue Mobilization and Collection to sensitize the teeming public on the need to deal with only M/S TAKUSHARA NIGERIA LTD which is the recognized Contracted Agency by the COUNCIL.

iv. That the Taskforce is Headed by Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf, SA to the AMAC Chairman on community development who has in turn warned the general public to desist from dealing with DOAS which is not recognized by law or the Council.

v. That the Department of Outdoor Advertisements and Signages are operating illegally as it is not backed by any law to operate.

vi. We also found out that What is happening is just a deliberate attempt to call our fellow Comrade a bad name and drag his hard earned reputation to disrepute.

Comrade Donald Amagba has pursued his agenda of promoting “Integrity, Openness and Accountability” with uncommon vigour and sincerity of purpose. By anchoring his message always on this tripod, He has continued to champion the cause of impactful media and Revenue collection enterprise through effective human resource development and cutting-edge activities with high community focus.

Comrade Donald to us is an inspirational and creative leader with demonstrated ability to manage organizational and cultural change. A self-driven, self-reliant, highly dynamic, articulate, conscientious, innovative, resilient, confidant and persuasive team-builder, who set targets and leads by example.
Hence, We want to state clearly and categorically that Nigerian Students in the Zone stand firmly with Comr Donald Amagba, because knowing fully well his pedigree we will not allow any set of people or groups to drag our Distinguished Comrade into their quagmire.

We want to use this medium to extend our committed support and Pass a Vote of Confidence on Comrade Donald Amagba,The CEO M/S TAKUSHARA NIGERIA Ltd,and also call on Nigerian Students within the Zone to give our amiable Chief Executive Officer all the necessary Support needed for him to continue to excel and succeed.
May we use this medium to call ON the Honorable Minister of FCT to wade into this matter as it demands all Urgency, because we know that he believes in the Rule of Law, We also want to call on those sponsoring such allegations and causing Confusion within the Taxpayers to desist from further attacks as Nigerian Students will resist them at all cost.

Nairaland / General / Fuel Subsidy Will Flunge Nigerias Into Hardship- Psan by DUBAGARIJNR(m): 12:31pm On Apr 14, 2023
FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL WILL CAUSE MORE INFLATION AND PLUNGE NIGERIANS INTO FURTHER HARDSHIP: POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA AND LAWYERS FOR CHANGE INITIATIVES WARNS NNPC, FGN.

The removal of fuel subsidy will not only drive up the price of premium motor spirit, resulting to higher transportation fares, increased inflation rate, reduced buying power and a surge in Poverty. Hardship will be inevitably intensify due to this, especially given the current level of inflation.

Some policies of the
government might seems to have some sort of long term economic advantages on paper, but the damages it can cause the people as a result of wrong timing, will overrides every good it is intended on the people, Nigerians are yet to fully recover from effect of the economic hardships occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, subjecting us to another form of suffering in the name of subsidy removal will be met with stiff resistance from the Nigerian masses as we are already on the edge.

We hereby on the premise above, call on the Federal Government of Nigeria and big players in the oil sector especially the NNPC to shelve every plans in their locker to remove fuel subsidy, the timing is not only wrong but the policy is highly anti people at this material time.

We hope all hope our voices will be be heard, as any attempt to remove the Subsidy will be met with Stiff resistance from this Group and its associate round Nigeria.

God bless Nigeria

After a fruitful meeting held on Saturday, 3rd July 2021, a group comprises of youth's and women's in Toto LGA Knowns as UMAISHA/UGYA COALITION FOR EMANCIPATION made the call as an appeal to Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa'ad to contest for the seat of House of assembly member to represent the good people of Umaisha/Ugya constituency in 2023.

The chairman and secretary of the forum Alh. Sulaiman Salihu Ogbere and Alh. Salihu Omehi Ugya respectively, said it's time to pay him back considering his struggle for development and tremendous achievements recorded by Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa'ad even when he hasn't occupied any public office.

Some of his record and achievements are still visible in communities that comprise the constituency, which has touched the lives of every inhabitants of the communities include, the installation of GLO NETWORK in Umaisha, Ugya, Katakpa, Turunku and Dausu and recently installation of MTN NETWORK in Umaisha.

Mr Salihu Ogbere stated that the contribution of Hon Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa'ad towards the walfare of his people is one of the reasons why they have concluded to seek for his return and involvement in the political space of the constituency, considering his recent involvement and contributions to the people of the riverine communities of the constituency during the time that flood consumed their houses and valuable materials which include farms products when he donated 100 bags of rice and ₦100,000 cash to the affected people.

Furthermore earlier last year when Iggi community of Shege ward invited most of the successful sons and daughters of the constituency including all the politicians to the launch program in other established class room in the village school and in that situation most of the invited people including, some elected politician declined the invitation, Hon. Sa'ad honoured the invitation and donated a huge amount of money and today the building structure is visible in the community.

Also, a member of the forum Abdulrasheed Lawyer Umaisha, added that Hon. Sa'ad is a God send to the people of the communities having seen his intervention in sports and youths empowerment, he narrated that in the history of the constituency, there is no personality that has invested in youths and sports activities of the constituency, considering how he spent millions of naira in the recent football competition he hosted and named OHIMEGE UNITY CUP some of players that participated in the tournament were selected for trial in Abuja football academic and one of them is now successfully in Port Harcourt camp training with Nigeria under 17 football team.

With these few among many achievement and contributions of Hon. Nairaland / General / As APC Crisis Loom In Umaisha, Hor Member, APC FCT Chairman Were Snubbed by DUBAGARIJNR(m): 1:37pm On Mar 22, 2021
THE ERA OF POLITICAL SLAVERY IS NO MORE, WISE UP AND FACE THE REALITY

I don't know the logic behind the action of Umaisha development area, All Progressive Congress (APC) excos and stakeholders for refusing to welcome and accompany some influential, prestigious and relevance personalities/stakeholders of our local government which include a member of house of reps representing Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency to thank our royal father the Ohimege of Opanda Alh. Usman Abdullahi for given them traditional tittle.

When we arrived at Umaisha from Abuja the first thing we heard even before I step out of the car is "there is an order from above that all obedient supporters and excos of APC should completely exempt themselves from the program" from there I took a survey to see for myself and really no single of them is at the venue of the program, but our youths and women turned up in mass to welcome us, with the population everyone will attest that we owned the majority. Some people will say the visit has nothing to do with politics but you should also know that we are aware of how politics are played in our communities, we have on several occasions seen the party excos surrounding politicians even when the politicians are on private visit or occasion and this is the first time saw this kind of action from the party excos and stakeholders, because there are others politicians that host occasions of this similar and all of the excos and stakeholders are always present there.

They said "in every rumours there is element of truth" for sometimes now romours are circulating that there are fraction of APC that are against the good and Developmental projects of the house of reps member in our communities (rural electrification, building of classrooms, drilling of industrial boreholes and others) and this action of the party excos and stakeholders has sent a signal to the people that what we are hearing is not a mere fallacy.

I will like to advise the excos that if they are having any issues with the member please let them try to resolve it amicably because the masses they are representing are percent behind him, and if it's someone that is assigning and bankrolling them to go against the only hope of our people, the people that have us in mind and are doing all their possible best to develop our communities, I'm assuring you that we will soon declare them and who is sponsoring them as the true enemies of our communities.

Nairaland / General / Naus Back Nomination Of Nas- State Ex Deputy Gov As Npc Chair. by DUBAGARIJNR(m): 8:33pm On Aug 24, 2020
NIGERIA UNIVERSITIES STUDENT'S (NAUS) Back Nomination of former Nasarawa State Deputy Governor as Chairman National population commission (NPC).

The highest decision making body for students studying in institutions of higher learning from university cadre which membership cut accros in Nigeria and in diaspora, which is fully committed to the mainstreaming of students and young leaders in government at all levels with the core interest of protection One Nigeria.

NAUS which serve as vanguard of campaign for equity, justice, human rights and good governance, free and qualitative education in Nigeria and in diaspora will not support any form of discrimination in regards to appointments of people of high standards like the ex Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State in Nigeria.

The National Association of University Students (NAUS) through the Senate arm
Throw it's weight behind the nomination of the former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Hon. Silas Ali Agara by President Muhammadu Buhari as Chairman of National population commission NPC.

This is based on Hon. Agara’s track record as a detribalize Nigerian who has the requisite qualifications, experience and right character to steer the ship of the NPC that will give the country the right demography and census figure for proper planning and development.

As a youthful public figure with an unblemished records, the President has no doubt, made the right choice that should be supported by all well meaning citizens of the country irrespective of ethnic, religious, political or regional differences.

We are however saddened by the recent turn of event with alleged plot by some political figures within the Northern region to withdraw his nomination and replaced him with another northerner of a different religion and state of origin as was contained in the Sahara Reporters online publication of Sunday 23rd August, 2020.

The Union views this move as a deliberate attempt by mischief makers to derail the unifying efforts of Mr President, aimed at balancing the power equation of the country and enhancing social cohesion by the diverse ethnic and religious classifications of the nation.

Beside his immense qualification as a bonifide citizen of the country and inline with the existing federal character principles, highly respected by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, the nominee Hon. Silas Ali Agara who has been an ardent Supporter of the President right from their Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) days.

Hon. Agara surely deserves to be rewarded with a notable national position to enable him contribute his quota to the development of the country, especially now that there is a compelling need for collective efforts to reposition the country for greater efficiency.

The union may not want to join issues with some notable names and individuals quoted in the Sahara Reporters publication for improper attribution and its speculative nature, we however believe that for every rumour, there could be some elements of truth which should be treated with all seriousness; there is no smoke without fire.

To this end, we called on our amiable President Muhammadu Buhari not to be distracted but to kindly forward of the nominee and other list to appropriate quotas for confirmation in order to lay to rest the prolonged speculations trailing the appointment, thereby putting to shame mischievous elements sabotaging the good intentions of the Government.

Thank you and God bless Nigeria.

Signed.
Ibrahim Mohammed Lawal, Senate President, National Association Of University Students.

" He had nothing to hide, he is clean man thou, he has his weakness, but his records are amazing, it is quite unfortunate, they want to blackmail our leader in this material time

Education / Naus Senate Demand Sack Of Service Chiefs! by DUBAGARIJNR(m): 7:25am On Feb 19, 2020
RE- DISRUPTION OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY FRAME WORK BY UNWARRANTED MEDDLESOMENES" A CALL FOR THE SACK'S OF SERVICE CHIEFS BY NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES STUDENTS'.

Let me commence by stating that, we didn't intend to achieve any parochial or cynical interest for making this message a public consumption.

No matter how minute it maybe conjure up, rather we write in trepidation, perturbation and outrage just like any meaningful students organization in the world, whom are patriotic enough to the principles of humanity and security of life and property of It's fellow citizens.

Without any modicum of doubt, our voice needs to be added to the existing cacophony of voices of unheard in every nook and cranny of this country, as regards to insecurity in Nigeria.

Recall to the leaked letter from the office of the national security adviser, in making reference to letter A&B: SH/COS/46/2/1429 dated 13 December 2019.
B:SH/COS/26/5/A/2609 dated 26 November 2019, as stated in a letter written by Office of the national security adviser" NSA/600/A dated December 2019.

This, is in response to presidential intervention to sustain internal security which is anchored on re-developing security architecture.

In reference to aforementioned, we call on His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the cries of the helpless Student's and other citizens burn down by TERRORIST by sacking his service chief's

Our message and call is in tandem in line with blueprints and anti- terrorism campaign of the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

To this effect, we demand removal of services chiefs immediately.

To the general public and universities student's, we hereby banned the chief of staff to the President from entering any universities in Nigeria, this is a protest to his actions and inaction as leaked by the letter reference above by office of the national security adviser, as such Nigeria universities student's should take note and resist any move by the person in question to visit any university in Nigeria.

Nairaland / General / Naus Disassociates Self From Revolutionnow, Urged Gov,t To End Insecurity by DUBAGARIJNR(m): 8:57am On Aug 05, 2019
The Attention of the Senate Secretariat of National Association of university student's(NAUS) is draw to a purported report circulating social media about the illegal protests organise and initiated by Sowore former presidential aspirant of AAC of " Global Coalition For Security And Democracy In Nigeria"tag as #RevolutionNow.

We are concern about academic excellence, social justice and peace as ordained in our Constitution.

We want to make it clear and concise that, National Association of university student's(NAUS) have nothing to do with the said protest, as against report that university students leaders where fully mobilised for today's protest March in different part of the country which is targeting the perpetual peace we enjoyed

It is base on this, we want the general public and the security agencies to know that university student's are not part and parcel of the said protests March and nothing shall made us be part of it

As a student's body of higher citadel of learning in the country,we use this medium to condemn the plan revolution match in totality and their masterminds in all ramifications.

We have no knowledge of any collaborations with these group as such we want the general public to reject the news as fake and death on arrival.

We demand changes in the system but not unconstitutional way or forcefully removal of government elected in the poll

We disassociates our self with them as the Constitution warrant and urged to use other means which is legally back up and we will join them in the spirit of struggle and solidarity but this one count us out

We use this medium to call Nigeria government to salvage the problem of insecurity and tackle the brain drain saga and invest more on education as to arrest any move by student's of university to join the revolutionary calls in future.

Because University student's have the capacity to handle the situation with high intellectual approach in a way it will not led to bloodshed and destruction of properties.

He who hear let him listen
