oyidiyaagbayi: I enrolled in a North Carolina community college. I don't have my green card bc I paid for it in October . They used the one resident in my visa for that and told me to bring my green card to replace it bc after one year my visa will expire. Then I applied for financial aid and it was approved. Another thing is that I only presented my waec result bc if I had given them my degree result I will not have qualified. This happened to a Nigerian student that I met here b4 they ratified it. I have about 3600 for one year. u also have refunds after the semester. It is on a yearly basis. u can also apply for scholarship when u finish your grants. study hard for your accuplacement test so that u don't have to do a lot of mathematics and readings. meanwhile am not a bro am a sis. good luck

I was not able to defend my olevel so they thought It wasn't mine.

Preamble:
G2Glory: The payment of USCIS immigrant fee of $165 is a MUST for those issued visa from February 2013 & this effect payment before immigrant leave for USA. To make payment through credit/debit card, it requires opening ELIS account ((https://elis.uscis.dhs.gov) or (www.uscis.gov)) before making online payment.

Issue/Challenge:
I had tried creating this ELIS account on several occassions but alway encountered repeated challenge on step 4 "Choose Security Preference", any time i clicked next button to take me to next page to enter the Personal Identity Question, it just came up with an error message (ERROR: Online access to your account has been revoked. Your account is now locked.The maximum number of unsuccessful attempts (3x) has been reached. Due to security reasons, your account has been locked.

I need someone in the house that can be of help most especially those people that did pay for their USCIS immigrant fee. or is there other way to make this payment. - Urgent answer pls.

Sorry my brother, many people had also encountered dis problem b4 it was due to IP address issue.... there 2 things involve now as solution 1st: use another email address and start from d scratch still doesn't work?
2nd: if u are using ur own system, download and install browser called" tor browser" and use it to create ur account from d beginning using diff email address.....or 3rd find someone to help u create ur account over here in US on ur behalf

I was able to pay my immigrant fee at the USCIS website without any issues. You don't need to download any browser and there was no IP address issues, just follow the steps carefully.

ayodim: I have been following this thread from the begining as a guest. My family visa has been approved this morning. We got to the embassy at 5:30am , went through all security checks and finally entered the hall some minutes before 8,made payment and waited to be called. Our number was finally called where a beautiful black lady welcomed us with a smile. She asked us to thumb print and take oaths. Then she askedthe following questions:
1. What do you do in Nigeria?
2. What's your highest education level?
3. Is this your only child?
4. What type of wedding did u have?
5. Do u have family phorographs?
She took the photographs and said"u have a lot of family pictures
Then she said " congratulations your visa has been approved" and gave us two forms for visa pick up.

My advise for is that you should dress the way you want to be addressed and be bold (look straight with smiles). Most importantly, PRAY a lot. The visa is yours.

Finally, I want to thank all forumites for all questions and answers shared so far,it was really helpful. God bless you all

No, we were already married before we entered for the lottery.

Our interview was quite unique. You will know why @ the end.
We got to the embassy @ about 5:55, and met people there as usual. After some time we were told to form queues according to immigrant and non immigrant.We went through various security checks and they also checked their list to confirm if we had appointment for the day.
Getting in we paid N109000 I.e for 2 persons. Pls keep all the papers they give you before entering.
After paying we submitted our documents and was asked to wait for our interview.
At about past 9 am we were called for our interview.
C/o: please both of u should raise ur right hand and swear to say the whole truth during the interview.
He took our finger prints after which the interview started.

Please alwz say d truth. I used a wrong date of birth during my initial application and the c.o asked me about it which I confirmed and he was satisfied.

Did medicals today @ consultant practice hospital for myself and spouse, total cost N20500 each.Also did police report @ N4000 each. Medicals to be collected on Wednesday. Special thanks to Roodboy for direction and tips as per medicals and police report. It really helped to save cost.

I beg to differ, my understanding is that a passport must have 6 more validity before expiry if you're applying for ANY visa. It doesn't matter when it was issued, correct me if I am wrong.

You are not wrong at all.
You can do ur passport today and put visa on it tomorrow if granted. What matters is the validity period which differs by visa category and by country.

There is nothing like unconfirmed report here. Kcc usually has the numbers some days prior to when its posted on the web site S o if u have their number why not call and get the current numbers they will gladly give u.

If I may advice u, pls send ur correct DOB to kcc. The VO understand these mistakes do occur.In the first place u have made a mistake by getting a passport with wrong info. No need for that and I advice u go and correct it at immigrations office. Don't in anyway start trying to manipulate ur documents because if it backfires u will get a permanent ban and even if you scale thru u will have to live with the wrong information.
And btw I am pretty sure u have asked the visa officer this question in his thread and u were advised on what to do.

I am a DV 2014 winner and my wife is the beneficiary. In my wife's international passport there was a mistake as to her place of birth.Her hometown was used as her place of birth although her hometown is just a few kilometres from her place of birth. In the forms sent to KCC we filled in her actual place of birth instead of the hometown as shown in the international passport. My question is: Will this discrepancy be a challenge or lead to denial ? Regards.

Africa is 13000 while Nigeria is 7500 or so. Not so sure cos I was just interested in my own number on the day I called. But the numbers will be published as usual between 10-15th Sept.
