oyidiyaagbayi: I enrolled in a North Carolina community college. I don't have my green card bc I paid for it in October . They used the one resident in my visa for that and told me to bring my green card to replace it bc after one year my visa will expire. Then I applied for financial aid and it was approved. Another thing is that I only presented my waec result bc if I had given them my degree result I will not have qualified. This happened to a Nigerian student that I met here b4 they ratified it. I have about 3600 for one year. u also have refunds after the semester. It is on a yearly basis. u can also apply for scholarship when u finish your grants. study hard for your accuplacement test so that u don't have to do a lot of mathematics and readings. meanwhile am not a bro am a sis. good luckWere u required to take a GED test or did your WAEC result make up for that? |

chiwuike20: I lost my cool and cudnt think clearly. Just imagine somebody who was admitted to study law not able to elaborate on demand and price?I am really sad right now. So sorry. In all of this take solace in the fact you are a courageous person. Not all would come to share their denial story. Please make the best of ur present situation while u continue to allow God to guide u in every further step u take. |

ayodim: I have been following this thread from the begining as a guest. My family visa has been approved this morning. We got to the embassy at 5:30am , went through all security checks and finally entered the hall some minutes before 8,made payment and waited to be called. Our number was finally called where a beautiful black lady welcomed us with a smile. She asked us to thumb print and take oaths. Then she askedthe following questions:very big congrats |

kennex89: @janut congratulation on your visa approval... please did you marry your wife after you have played the lottery which made your wife a beneficiary. No, we were already married before we entered for the lottery. |

Our interview was quite unique. You will know why @ the end. We got to the embassy @ about 5:55, and met people there as usual. After some time we were told to form queues according to immigrant and non immigrant. We went through various security checks and they also checked their list to confirm if we had appointment for the day. Getting in we paid N109000 I.e for 2 persons. Pls keep all the papers they give you before entering. After paying we submitted our documents and was asked to wait for our interview. At about past 9 am we were called for our interview. C/o: please both of u should raise ur right hand and swear to say the whole truth during the interview. He took our finger prints after which the interview started. C/o: what's ur highest level of education Me: ... C.o: what year Me:..... C.o: what course. me:... C.o: when did u serve Me:... C.o: where Me:... C.o what was ur task there Me:... C.o:when did u get married Me:... C.o: where Me:.. C.o: is it church , registry or both Me:... C.o: when did u meet ur wife Me:..... C.o: why did u wait so long b4 marrying her Me:.... C.o:do u have wedding pictures Me: .... C.o: who is that little boy the picture Me:... C.o: who is that little girl in the picture Me:... C.o brought out two white papers and explained to us where to pick up our visa and hw to pay uscis fee. We thanked him and left. In all of this the c.o did not ask my wife a single question even though she was right beside me. Please alwz say d truth. I used a wrong date of birth during my initial application and the c.o asked me about it which I confirmed and he was satisfied. I wish those yet to get their visa all the best. It can only be God. 7 Likes |

westcodes:You are not wrong at all. You can do ur passport today and put visa on it tomorrow if granted. What matters is the validity period which differs by visa category and by country. |

Madu77: Very big congrats. Just follow westcode advise. Download the forms from the website and update accordingly. No issues at all, kcc will surely update your status . 1 Like |

VisaOfficer: Is this to mean that you don't recognize/accept birth certificates issued prior to 1992 by the local government council even when it has full names of both parents as well as place of birth? |
![]() |
akintunde95: @JOLLYIWIN wot u re sayin is dat if i can change d date of birth with d one i have in my SSCE abiIf I may advice u, pls send ur correct DOB to kcc. The VO understand these mistakes do occur. In the first place u have made a mistake by getting a passport with wrong info. No need for that and I advice u go and correct it at immigrations office. Don't in anyway start trying to manipulate ur documents because if it backfires u will get a permanent ban and even if you scale thru u will have to live with the wrong information. And btw I am pretty sure u have asked the visa officer this question in his thread and u were advised on what to do. |

Hello VO, I am a DV 2014 winner and my wife is the beneficiary. In my wife's international passport there was a mistake as to her place of birth. Her hometown was used as her place of birth although her hometown is just a few kilometres from her place of birth. In the forms sent to KCC we filled in her actual place of birth instead of the hometown as shown in the international passport. My question is: Will this discrepancy be a challenge or lead to denial ? Regards. |

komakan: September Bulletin will be out next week. The numbers are already available. You can call KCC on 00916065267500 and they will give you the numbers. Africa is 13000 while Nigeria is 7500 or so. Not so sure cos I was just interested in my own number on the day I called. But the numbers will be published as usual between 10-15th Sept. |

femishow2005: Its really not desperation. Its just the almost 'it can't be true' feeling. As far as his documents are clean and he can defend his claims, there is nothing like desperate suspicion from the CO. |
